The Clinton Thread II - Part 2

Why are we really still damning Hillary with this email issue, while Trump hasn't released his tax records which will reveal facts that he has owe Russians money and will be a national security liability if he somehow gotten into the White House?

Btw, can Obama tell the FBI director to stop interfering with the election? If there's no wrongdoing then this is clearly used to try to influence the outcome with less than 2 weeks to go.

Wiener sexting probe. Sometimes it writes itself.

There has to be an actual reason for impeachment and them being pissed that Hillary is president isn't a good enough reason to impeach a president. Also if the Impeachment makes it through the House it then goes to the Senate and then the Senate decides whether to convict and a conviction requires a two-thirds majority. It's unlikely the GOP will have control of two-thirds of the Senate seats. So it wouldn't succeed in the Senate.

Not to mention, if they impeached Hillary, Kaine would become president so it wouldn't get the GOP into the Oval Office. And the GOP is already holding the SCOTUS hostage and is already talking about refusing to confirm any Justices that Hillary chooses. Do you really think the Party can afford to then override a legal national election by impeaching a legally elected president that hasn't committed a crime while president. The political backlash is more than the GOP can handle right now.

Plus, consider Obama. The GOP despise him and have spent eight years demeaning him in the media whenever they can. They never impeached him. So don't worry too much.

Ryan doesn't have the balls to do it.

Paul Ryan is such a wuss. He won't renounce his support of Trump but does release a statement on the new emails when it's now known this was just a political hit job by Comey. The emails weren't even to Hillary apparently.

Give me a freaking break man. Comey is in a tough situation because he told the American people that the investigation was concluded, but because of that creep Weiner they came across more e-mails. All he's doing is informing the American public of that information nothing more nothing less. He's not saying there is anything there he's just doing his due diligence. You rather them keep what they do secret? Personally, I prefer transparency. Heck, that's one of the reasons why I voted for Obama in 2008 because he promised to have the most transparent administration ever.

The fact that you resort to name calling speaks volumes of how far you are in your own partisan world that you can't look at this from an objective stand point.

Comey needs to come out and set the facts straight(ie that as of now nothing has actually been looked at, just the fact they found emails on Huma's computer and want to look at it). I see republicans/trump supporters jumping on this saying that this is proof Hillary did something wrong

Transparency would mean they shared the results of a thourough investigation.

This is just telling people there are extra emails to look at and making Hillary look guilty in the process.

He should've waited till the investigation was over like usual. It's not normal to share tidbits from an ongoing investigation nor is it normal to use such tidbits to disrupt a national election.

Telling people they found more emails means nothing. That is not transparency. Either tell the people they mean something or don't. All he's done is lead to more conjecture and false accusations.

I found some emails in my inbox.

That's part of the problem though and that's why he's in this predicament because the investigation wasn't all that thorough apparently. That's where the FBI bungled this and that's why he made the statement to Congress that he did. The issue is that some more came to light after investigating Weiner for sexting a child so they are investigating it again. I don't know why if you were investigating this, that Huma's devices weren't thoroughly investigated prior to this separate investigation. Had they done that in the first place he wouldn't have to issue the statement.

They don't know yet, but he had previously said that they investigated it and found no criminal wrongdoing, but it turns out they overlooked key people in her staff they shouldn't have. That's why he has to quasi walk back his statement because the FBI failed to do their job in the first investigation.

He's basically telling the American people yeah, remember when I told you we looked into everything and there was no criminal wrong doing...well about that...we overlooked something we shouldn't have so we have to look at that and then we will get back to you, but from what we looked at so far there is no criminal wrongdoing.

Actually by making any comments ts at all he went against the FBI and the DOJs usual policies. If hrs in a bad position, it his own fault.

These emails were recently found as part of another, unrelated investigation.

The emails could be replicants.

So he could be helping Trump win over something completely baseless.

That is not transparency. That's implying you have something that exposes wrongdoing when it could be nothing.

And deciding an incredibly important election in the process.

Jesus ****ing Christ. This woman should not be allowed to correspond through anything other than paper. Good old fashioned shreddable, flammable paper.

So when the FBI deliberately seemed to hold back with Clinton and her relatively flimsy answers for her conduct they were fair and it was good, now that they're seemingly being used politically by te republicans it's suddenly unacceptable? :funny:

It's weird how manipulating institutions is only alright when someone's own political team is doing it.

Agreed, I wish the Dems picked someone with less baggage then Clinton, if she loses due these careless actions, if she loses because of this and Trump becomes President, she will be one of the biggest losers in political history.

That is what he said in his letter to Congress...

Actually by making any comments ts at all he went against the FBI and the DOJs usual policies. If hrs in a bad position, it his own fault.

The investigation was concluded, it is appropriate to say whether or not there will recommend charges. His comments about her being reckless were against policy.

Yes, but they shouldn't have been missed in the first investigation of the E-mails.

He hasn't implied any wrongdoing, if people choose to read into that then that is on them. He's just saying they overlooked something in the first investigation and now they are going to look at it...instead we get people overreacting from both sides.

If there's no major wrong doing established then he should've kept his mouth shut.

There's a reason the FBI has a policy to not release any politically sensitive information within 60 days of the general election.

It is rather intriguing why he made this move. Even if they had something they couldn't reveal it until the end of the investigation... which could take months.

Watching the director of the FBI's career self implode has certainly been fascinating.

There's transparency, then there's deliberate misinterpreting of info to influence the election. As far as we know, there is nothing stated in any statements of what the content is in those emails are, or how they're even linked to Hillary's campaign. By him making a big deal out of it when nothing is concrete is a little suspect. He's the FBI director, so he's not stupid. He knows damn well what those headlines will do once he releases his statement. He can't come back and say he wants to set the record straight and makes sure nothing is misrepresented after the fact. With how fast news travels on the net now, it doesn't work like that.
