The Clinton Thread II - Part 2

To make it clear to you I don't see anybody on the left, even the so called regressive left you talk about have much positive to say about the Middle East or many practices that happen their due to their religion. In general people who feel the "regressive left" has a positive view of the Middle East are making assumptions that the fact they don't say anything negative about the Middle East when defending the individual right of a Muslim person to exist in this society, that is somehow proof they are pro Muslim

Maybe I could have worded it better but it basically means when the left is arguing about one thing(generally individual rights as a whole or the right of an individual to live in society without somebody stepping all over their rights), the right is arguing something else(generally Muslim practices in the Middle East as if they are one single minded group of people) so the right will look at the left saying something good about the individual as somehow supporting every single thing in the Muslim world.

You appear to be conflating issues. It is possible for Islam be a backward religion but for the majority of Muslims to be good people, which is what I believe. The same way I believe that Christianity is a backward religion but most Christians are good. The statements; Islam has a problem with extremists and; Most Muslims are innocent and harmless can both be true at the same time. Something doesn't have to be a statistical majority to be dangerous. Cancer isn't prevalent at X>50% of a population but that doesn't mean it isn't serious?

Criticizing or critiquing Islam has little to do with every day Muslims, because the critique isn't aimed at people as much as the ideological construction of the religion.

Also, look into the regressive left, they're the ideological equals of the alt-right and they're going to usurp the democrats in short order the same way the alt-right has captured the republican party for the most part, in terms of voter-base.

I think it also may be those on the left who are willing to criticize Israel.

When GW Bush's ethics lawyer is thinking you did something wrong, you done did something wrong Comey.

Critiquing Israel's conduct frequently bleeds into anti-Semitism, it's one of the prejudices that has increased the most in the last while, but it isn't sexy to be outraged by that anymore so it's largely ignored.

The left critique Israel, often for no good reason, less often legitimately, while the alt-right has a Neo-Nazi leaning and has issues with Jews, so in terms of the most vocal exponents on the political spectrum anti-Semitism is rather popular.

But just as criticizing Islam doesn't mean you think all Muslims are terrorists, being critical of some of Israel's behavior also doesn't mean you're anti-Semitic.

I agree 100%, but technically for that comparison to work you would need to replace Israel with Judaism.

A religion being separate from its practitioners is quite different to a country being different from its most prevalent religious group.

There are many Arab Israelis who are also involved in making the decisions people want to criticize Israel for, but the popular belief is that the only Israelis making important decisions are the Jews. People don't really investigate its demographics before making statements.

Thought I drop by after a few months. I have been hearing this for a while from the inside. I don't care if you don't believe it, it will come out sooner or later (maybe after the election?).

There was a major coup in the FBI, a huge chunk of the FBI wanted her indicted. Comey has been fighting it and failed.

A cache of the "deleted" emails (the 30k) do exist btw.

After wikileaks, I have to apologize to the Democrats here.

That is, the accusation of idiocy for nominating someone with so much baggage. There was no chance of winning, given how she (and her ilk) rigged it. Such as her "deal" with Kaine (wikileaks, 2015 email) and Wasserman-Schultz. She even sabotaged Biden (wikileaks). If Biden had gotten in, he would have beaten Trump clean.

I imagine a number of former FBI will talk to the press. A number resigned over Comey's action (not recommend indictment). It's inevitable.

The rise of paranoid politics could make America ungovernable – and the FBI is fuelling the fire

It's all part of the plan so that the aliens can take over a destabilized nation

This is actually a really good topic. You can't take the real life decisions that affect people on a daily, transform it into some weird combination of a soap opera and a suspense thriller, and expect people to stay on an even keel.

The level of dishonesty in politics is turning people neurotic.

Kind of what I was driving at.

The wording was a little too generalized though.

Israel's problem, like Russia's (if only from a perceptual point and not in reality), is that their geography necessitates a constant vigilance and siege mentality that means it's highly unlikely they'll ever be able to elect a leader who isn't a bit of a military tyrant.

Israel's existence is predicated on being able to defend themselves better than almost any other nation in the world. If they weaken on that stance they'll be preyed upon by several nations bordering them. The problem they face is they're losing the PR war to such an extent your average global citizen wouldn't blink if Israel actually did end up being wiped off the face of the earth.

WSJ is reporting that there maybe up to 650k e-mails on the wiener device that need to be looked at. This investigation/circus is going to last months.

And the Republicans have already started setting up their investigations that will start her first week in office....

Yep, Clinton is going to be another 4 years of Obama, because of the Republicans not her policy.....

Weiner gave permission to search his devices, and is very cooperative. No warrant was necessary.

It sounds like he might have SNITCHED via a bargain deal. :funny:

You seem to have a commanding grasp on how investigations like this are conducted. :o

Which investigation? The one Weiner is under or what may, if you squint hard enough, is related to Clinton?

Feel free to correct me, but I am under the impression NY is prosecuting and not the DOJ? That's why the NY FBI had the info for weeks?

No?

Take it for what it's worth considering the source, but I just saw on twitter that Catherine Herridge is reporting on FOX news that the wiener device has hits from state.gov and clinton.com emails from a LEO source.

NBC news reporting that the FBI got their warrant as well.
