The last part about Heath taking Nolan up on his offer was the best

Seeing interviews of Nolan and seeing his type character, Im sure he was deeply affected by this.

Very good words. Good read.

Thanks.

When you get into the edit suite after shooting a movie, you feel a responsibility to an actor who has trusted you, and Heath gave us everything.

I guess you can take this as a message to all the fans out there that Heath's performance will not be comprised in any manner because of his death.

Beautiful piece. Thank You, Mr Nolan! The part about the editing suite was so touching, how he imagines Heath sitting down for the screening and how he'll never get to see the finished movie.

"I see him every day in my edit suite. I study his face, his voice. And I miss him terribly."

Just heart-breaking.

Absolutely (sp?), that got me a little teary...

Gotta love Nolan, you can also see there how much he misses Heath, as we all do.

Polux

Yeah. .

I'm a little hazy on that. Did Nolan want the skateboards there, or was Heath just trying to be 'a part' while not actually on schedule?

Even so, the atmosphere read like a job I would want. Of course, making movies would be great; yet, the atmosphere, in it's simplicity, seem comforting.

It brought a tear to my eye Heath had some much other stuff he wanted to do in his life. I really believe Heath would have been one hell of a director. I just hope there some movie scripts he wrote that are so great and amazing that can win him an academy award and an oscar. More, importantly I hope he wins an academy award and an oscar for playing the Joker.

Great of Nolan to share his memories of Heath in that way. It must be hard for him to look at Heath while editing. A very moving article that shines the light on just what kind of person Heath was.

This is great

Now I'm really really sad about Heath again. :(

That's Nolan for you man, truly a class act all the way. Its so saddening knowing Heath will never get to see the finished product.

It might be saddening that Heath didn't see the finished project he was able to live it during those summer nights in Chicago and in the hangars in England.

Very touching. Its good to hear Nolan speak about Heath.

It does just go to show that Heath was very committed to this role and he brought inspiration to everyone on the set.

Wow they was amazing. You can really feel the respect and emotion Nolan had for Heath. It was nice that he was so honest about what he felt too.

I think he meant that the skateboarding threw him off, Nolan wasnt sure if it was people(Heath) part of the crew or kids trying to get a sneak peek.

That sounds like a common theme that I have read about film on other films.

After reading that article, if Joker was to be in part 3, I'd be hard pressed to believe Nolan would recast him. I believe he would rewrite part of the story before recasting the role.

sweet article. Heath seemed like the type of guy you would want to be Best friends with.

Usually when people from the industry, and even people who knew him, pay their respect, they do it in a very... I don't want to say cold but I can't find the right word. Nolan's very warm and respectful to the memory of Heath.

Fantastic find. Nolan is a great writer and I think he summed up what Heath was really like. Playful, serious and artistic. This was very emotional article.

I totally rofl'd on the skateboarding Joker.

I absolutely agree. There's no way, IMO, that Nolan will touch The Joker again.

So true

"Back on LaSalle Street, I turn to my assistant director and I tell him to clear the skateboarding kid out of my line of sight when I realize—it's Heath, woolly hat pulled low over his eyes, here on his night off to take me up on my offer. I can't help but smile.":woot:
