The Costume thread

I'm with the majority saying the MOS muscle suit was better, however, I like the BVS/JL suit's composition overall.

I agree. The MOS muscle suit and costume was amazing, but I think I prefer BvS/JL design and overall aesthetic of the costume, but I would more add more redto the belt and an S to the cape.

Yellow S on the cape please. It's a talisman to make a Superman movie finally successful.

I like the long flowing Cape on supes but I wonder what a shorter Cape would look like in live action.

I love the yellow S on the back of the cape. Some of the pre production art for Man of Steel had it.

The one in the Chris Reeve movies was a shorter one that worked quite well.

Something akin to this would be cool I think. Still keeps the spirit of superman while being updated. Also has the shorter cape.

The actor is key.. this guy is built... he looks huge and an actor like Hugh Jackman would have nailed it. However, you don't want this happening...

Also that pose of the dude hanging off the railing, incidentally looks similar to this... in a way..

One minor wish is that the next movie move away from the shower curtain heavy capes.
Try a shorter, less weighted to save on fake CGIing. Do like Thor 3.

I would like to see a shout out to the classic Superman costume...it's not hard to work into the story - Super is fighting some big bad whose death rays fry his costume(except maybe the cape) and knock him out near a circus. When Superman comes to he has to grab some tights from the friendly circus folk and head back into battle. Sounds a bit silly, but I'm sure professional writers can come up with something better ( although after seeing B v S and JL, maybe not).

A similar story point could have us see him in the t-shirt, jeans and boots look , which also works.

Regardless, it would be great to see Superman in a couple of different uniforms.

Why JL passed up the chance to show him in a black super suit I'll never know, they'd have made millions on the toy sale alone.
CW Superman looked awesome in the black suit.

Speaking of classic suit and cw.. with Routh coming back as superman I so hope it’s like redemption where the suit is more akin to the Reeve suit of the universe it was supposed to be connected too and that Routh and co basically show what ‘classic’ superman should look like.

The circus idea is nice - thing is - any story line can sound crazy on paper - avengers endgame - looking at you!! But made a billion.. but yeah - if something is done with conviction, it’s fine.

Yeah I googled him and saw what he actually looked like. That'll be a no thanks. Lol

The one to the left is still my personal favorite; even for a modern Superman reimagining (no 1930s setting please!).

I do like the Fleischer design, but it's like Kingdom Come for me in that the black looks too sinister. I'd save it for a sequel look (maybe one that even tackles KC, or perhaps that should be saved for a JL redux)

I'm not the biggest fan of the CW shows, but I gotta say, Brandon Routh as Kingdom Come Superman is DOPE.

Wish they could have aged his face a little but otherwise I can’t complain

the cape neck attachment in Superman Returns suit was not only a mistake but a crime. He looks amazing in the new suit.
