WELCOME..
TO THE CREATE-A-HERO RPG SEASON III

This informative pamphlet brought to you by:
NiteMare Shape
- Editor-In-Chief
trustyside-kick - Editor

First, A Few Rules and Guidelines:

  •
  • You can create any superhero or super villain in this New Universe, as long as they: Are NOT deities, gods, or people such as Death. People like Thanos and Silver Surfer and Captain Marvel are okay, though...

  • Do NOT rip off existing heroes in comic universes. Come up with your own creation. If your character is too similar to one in Marvel, DC, or other comic companies, you will be asked to change it or come up with a new character.

  • Do NOT criticize another poster’s character. We are not all Stan Lee or Shakespeare. Constructive criticism is okay as long as it is not offensive. This rule applies even if a poster asks for feedback.

  • Communicate with others in your arc. This is key to the fun. It doesn’t matter how many fights you win, it matters if the fights were written well.

  • The Game Masters have the final say in matters of character acceptance. You are welcome to alter the character to make it less powerful or more creative, but arguing with the Game Masters is not allowed. This is a game, let it be fun.

  • You are allowed three characters, provided that you have already established yourself capable of playing two characters at once for a sufficient amount of time determined by the GMs.

  • This is a working environment, so you can travel to different places using your powers or vehicles. Don't miraculously pop up unless you're a teleporter or such.

  • If you are new to the RPG, your first arc should be your origin arc. There are NO pre-established characters in this RPG - save for those established by players in previous seasons.

  • You can reside in any place in the New Universe. Note, however, that the main city is Lost Haven, Maine. This is where a lot of the action will take place. You can also travel off-planet.

  • Don't do anything RANDOM like chopping off board user's heads or what not, unless your a villain chopping off NPC victims heads, then whatever, go with it, as long as it's not technically RANDOM.

  • Don't be killing people without reason. You know your weaknesses and strengths, what you can do or can't. Dazzler will lose against Thanos one on one, but may be able to use her allies to help her out or she can run away.

  • If you want to take part in this, just fill out an app and your name and character will appear on the roster, pending approval.

  • You can form super villain gangs, superhero teams, alliances, the works.

  • There can be a number of stories going on at once, using different people.

  • Act like your characters; ASSUME their traits and personalities.

  • There should be MINIMAL cussing and swearing in posts.
There will be NO By-passing the censors. This is a Hype rule, and NO exceptions will be made for the RPG.

  • No obscene topics!

  • People who disobey these rules, some more major than the others, will get BOOTED by the Game Masters. If a Hype! Mod need boot you; do not bother applying again.

BLUE = MODIFIED RULES

3. World Level (Ex. Flash, Superman)
4. Cosmic (Ex. Silver Surfer, Green Lantern)

NOTE: Having only one or two powers does not automatically make a character a level 2. The levels reflect how powerful the powers themselves are, not only the variety. A level 3 may be more powerful then a level 4. These levels serve to show where your powerful hero operates, as heroes this powerful may be cosmic wonderers or Earth-bound. Also, Game Masters will be wary of approving level 3 or 4 characters. An extremely well-thought out and great sample post will be needed to be approved for a high level character. Your post should be as powerful as your character.

Powers (Be Specific):

Fighting Skill: Untrained/Trained/Mastered (If another Level 3 or 4 stat is chosen with Mastered the character falls under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters)

Resources: Minimal/Average/Large/Extreme (If another Level 3 or 4 stat is chosen with Extreme the character falls under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters)

NOTE: Even if all attributes chosen are Normal human when Super-Genius, Mastered, and Extreme are chosen for the final three attributes, this player is a level 3 or 4 character, such as Batman.

Weaknesses (If your stats chosen are deemed powerful enough by a Game Master with no weakness, the character will fall under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters. Even with a weakness, a Game Master may rule it as a Level 3 or 4 character):

Create a Hero RPG SEASON III Application

Character you have created: O Nva Xetaxy
Alias: Reverend Madlove

Speech Color (Actually say what you're using, don't go "Like this", or what not): Comic Sans, Purple

Character Alignment: Villian

Identity: Secret

Character Personality (Give information on how your character acts, what he/she believes in, how they handle situations): A charismatic, energetic, and flamboyant pan-dimensional extraterrestrial, Madlove is the leader of a cult on Earth, where he passes off his super-powers as proof of his divinity. His rockstar persona and energetic sermons promoting hedonism entice his loyal followers to do his bidding.

In his utopian home-dimension, everyone is equal and happy. Upon venturing to new dimensions and taking on new forms, O discovered the pleasures of wealth, power over others, sex, etc. and will now do anything to attain them. He also has taken great interest in the lives and cultures of other beings. While he acts mostly in self-interest, he is not completely insincere in his effort to improve the lives of others as a ruler/religious figure.

Origin Info/Details: O Nva Xetaxy is a member of a race of pan-dimensional beings who can travel through time and space. They have established a vast utopian society in their home dimension and, having seemingly mastered the secrets of their universe, set out to explore others. Upon venturing to other dimensions, many of these beings learned that their powers were greatly expanded or diminished, depending on the dimension they inhabited.

O Nva traveled into a dimension in which he was granted god-like powers. He went on to conquer and enslave the universe which endured his brutal reign until his people learned of these atrocities. After liberating this universe, they went on to hunt down O, now a fugitive, who was jumping from dimension to dimension in an effort to evade capture and punishment and to find a new dimension in which he would be granted absolute power.

O then stumbled onto our dimension, previously undiscovered by his people. While he was not omnipotent in this realm, he did retain a great deal of power. O took refuge on Earth, taking on a human form, and studied human culture and discovered a new, more subtle way of conquering—manipulation. O assumed the title of “Reverend Madlove” and formed his own religion. His “divine” powers, hedonistic messages, and flamboyant rockstar persona draw in more and more followers, slowly but surely increasing his influence and power over humans.

Although very powerful, Madlove mostly uses his powers for show, as he has not had much of a reason to use them for combat…yet.

Hero Type (Select one): Energy (Cosmic)

Power Level (Select one below): World or Cosmic. Not sure which he’d fall under (I’m inclined to think the latter but I’ll let you decide).

Powers (Be Specific): Energy projection/manipulation (energy blasts, energy absorption, force fields, etc.), Teleportation (from dimension to dimension, cannot teleport anywhere in his human form), Healing (himself and others), Matter Manipulation, Telekinesis, Empathy

Attributes (Select one at each category):

Strength Level: Normal Human (below average)

Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Normal Human (below average)

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: Normal Human

Agility: Normal Human

Intelligence: Genius

Fighting Skill: Untrained

Resources: Average/Large. Somewhere in between there.

Weaknesses While quite powerful in this dimension, O is not omnipotent as he was in previous dimensions. His human body is mortal and just as vulnerable to damage/harm as any other. In fact, his body is rather thin and frail, actually making him more vulnerable and physically weaker than most. O is also not used to experiencing time in a linear fashion and is not completely aware of all the limitations of his human form, making him reluctant to use some abilities. His new and diminished perception of time and space often leaves him somewhat confused and disoriented.

Supporting Characters (Does your character have a significant other? A mother? Friend? Who are they, what do they have to do with your character?): His loving followers.

List a few reasons why you've created that character: Thought he was pretty interesting. I was imagining a sort of backwards Doctor Manhattan mixed with David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust.

What can you bring to the RPG?: A villain, which we have few of.

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?: Yarp. Will post sketch in a bit

Sample Post (Minimum Four paragraphs containing dialogue):

“Children of the universe…” the speakers bellowed. The faces of the crowd lit up as they immediately jumped out of their seats. Strobe lights went off and fog machines began to cloud the stage.

“Allow us to introduce…” continued the voice over. The crowd screamed and cheered as colorful lasers and lights began to flash and dance about the stage.

“The one… the only…your loving cosmic messiah…”

In a flash, every light was shut off. The auditorium was now pitch black and nearly dead silent, save for the hissing of the fog machines.

“Reverend…” whispered the voice over. A single spot light shone on the stage, revealing a gaunt man covered in a white silk cloak. On each side of him stood a young woman, clinging on to his shoulders tightly.

“MADLOVE!!!” the voiceover screeched. Fireworks erupted, and the crowd went insane as the women tore off the cloak, revealing a gaudy, colorful costume. Madlove opened his arms up to the crowd and basked in their screams of admiration. He raised his hands to the heavens and from them let loose bolts of electric energy, further sending the crowd into frenzy. He dropped his arms to his sides and gave a swift wave of his hand. The crowd fell silent. He approached the microphone and smiled at his followers.

“My children…” he whispered with a huge grin, “Live to love!”

“And love to live!” the crowd shouted in response.

“Too true, babies,” he snickered.

For those looking to get caught up on this season's events thus far, I bring you a page by page summary put together by Hound55

Page 1:
Icon: Despite being able to lift 100 tons and run up to 100mph, the Icon, one of the most powerful figures on the planet has chosen to pick up his life and run away. He's taken on a job in construction just outside of Boston and has decided to live in anonymity. He's meeting new people in this new life and attempting to paint over his old one. Being the sole link between these two lives past and present one of his new found friends Marty has attempted to help him fix his loneliness by setting him up with a friend, Kelly. It takes a while for Scott to begin to open up to this new girl though, understandable due to all that he's lost, but when Kelly bridges the gap by sharing the fact that she's lost people too and lending a sympathetic ear the two begin to get much closer.
The next day Marty and Scott talk about the previous night's events, and another lunch with Kelly is revealed to have been set up by Marty and Deb. At the lunch Kelly drops the bomb that she knows who he is by posing the question of why he would give that lifestyle up.

Olympus Mons: Charles Atlas, son of renowned astronomer Dr. Gregory Atlas has now been endowed with freakish new powers after an accident with an experiment designed to test and study the effects of solar winds on Mars.

The Youngster/Samson the Mighty: The Youngster has increased his workload with the loss of the Icon, whereabouts unknown. He's feeling it's effects somewhat and has returned home for a rest. No sooner has he arrived home than Sam's friend Dave has called him up to come down to the club, understanding that the only thing he needs as much as rest is to blow spend some time in his other identity with friends Sam agrees to go to the club. At the club we hear the words in the wind, the city is a buzz with talk about the next big event; a race featuring all of the best Speedsters - including Samson and the famed Blue Blur.
After helping to open the club for the night Sam decides to stick around to blow off some steam and has a great night, making quite an impression on Lexa, before he has to leave as his life as Sam gets disturbed by the sound of two loud bangs somewhere off in the distance.
Arriving en scene to investigate the source of the disturbance he finds a speedster with a message for Blue Blur, that the race is far from over.
Lexa and Sam continue where they left off at the club, getting to know each other even better before finishing with a thought on his hoodie that he hadn't thought of before...

Blue Blur: Meanwhile the Blue Blur is doing publicity and preparing for his big race...

The Goddess: Goddess had managed to avoid capture and snuck away after her last attempt to sneak grand scale power. She learned the lesson from her impetuousness and has now taken a more planned, patient outlook to securing her own power and extending her rule once more. After a month of self discovery she has regained her control over her own power. After her re-training and self reflection she discusses her future prospects with her loyal serf Patches, she is most displeased at the lack of magical items and magos to grow her own power. She is also sick with the plague. She gives him her orders and by the end of their discussion the path back to power seemed clearer than it first appeared...

The Invisible Man: Cole's life has had some big changes. With the death of the doctor and the destruction of the papers which provided the only method to safely remove the gland which has changed his life, the surgery now has been put off indefinitely. There is a new doctor and a new partner, and partner in the professional sense. The Director enjoys pulling strings greatly, and has taken this mint opportunity to forcibly "recruit" Cole as an agent. How long his new partner Robert Hawkes can keep him in line will still remain to be seen...

The Archangel: In the present day, the hero known as Archangel is fighting a demon that appears to be able to feed off of his own energy. We then flash back a month, to when Michael first learned of the challenge that he would be facing. Father Damien is preparing him for the demons that will come, it is his responsibility as God's chosen representative to face these 7 demons that now walk the earth. Each demon represents one of the seven deadly sins of Pride, Anger, Greed,
Lust, Sloth, Envy and Gluttony. Whilst Father Damien prepares Michael to better know thy enemy, we also see that Michael's relationship with Grace continues to be strained at best, non-existant at worst, as he follows the Spirit of Love's advice. All the better to keep her safe, is Michael's general thoughts on the matter. He loves her too much to put her life in
further danger.

The Vigilante: Isaac is re-introduced to us after the lapse in time between seasons as looking a lot worse for wear. Like The Youngster he has had to pick up the slack a lot for the Guardians in Icon's absence. Unlike Sam however, he doesn't have super powers to depend on... so he's begun to depend on other things outside of himself. Booze. His life has become even more stressful than it was just three months ago and this has not been helped by the fact that he's now aware that the
Government is spying on him and likely his entire team. After another nightworking on his wrist strength by emptying glasses down his gullet, he intervenes in a dispute between a prostitute and her pimp. Affected by a combination of the alcohol he'd consumed and his already burnt out state Isaac is not as convincing in the fight and despite being the "victor" leaves with a broken arm and in an even worse mental state than he was before.
The powers that be who work the Guardians behind the scenes have decided to put him on ice, before his burnout gets worse. Looking to improve the team's image in the absence of the Icon, the military top brass delegate the Vigilante to deliver a motivational speech in a large school hall in front of masses of school children in a program called Right-Track. This is far from what Isaac signed up for.
At the speech, Isaac's worst fears come to life as the motivational speech he was unprepared to give in the first place actually is a Q and A session with hundreds of school children who are more interested in other Guardians issues, namely Icon's decision to quit. Isaac himself barely understands the decision and doesn't agree with it himself, and that
combined with his general lack of social skills/ability to talk to people leads to the entire event being a major PR disaster for the team as he produced a major gaffe by dropping the f-bomb loudly into a lapel mic he forgot he was wearing, stunning the entire congregation.

Shadow Walker: Shadow Walker has finally tracked down Midas, his enforcer The Franchise and The Cartel to a warehouse where they are running his father's guns. His recon work complete, he now looks to take action...

Create a Hero/Villain RPG SEASON III

Screen Name: NiteMare Shape

Character you have created: Scott Morse
Alias: Icon

Speech Color (actually say what you're using, don't go "Like this", or what not):
Blue Arial

Character Alignment: Hero
Identity: Secret to the public

Character Personality(Give information on how your character acts, what he/she believes in, how they handle situations): He is a man who doesn't fully understand himself. He grew up not too far from Lost Haven in Conway New Hampshire. It's a small ski resort town just several hours south of the city. Although he grew up a normal kid with a normal family, he is anything but normal. He has amazing powers that he doesn't fully understand. While he was growing up he hated himself, he was angry at the world for making him a "freak." He wanted nothing to do with his powers, he just wanted a normal life. However, as time went on and he grew older he learned to deal with his powers, and eventually he embraced them. He believes in fighting for what is right. He believes in protecting the weak, and making sure that they are taken care of. Overall, he is a good man with great power, trying to do the right thing.

Origin Info/Details: Scott Morse may seem like a normal guy, but he is anything but. Everything about him is a lie, his parents, his older brother as well as his younger sister. None of it is real. Although they raised him as their son, he isn't. In fact, he isn't even really human. Scott was the result of a secret experiment by an even more secret government agency that mixed alien DNA with that of a human. While he was a baby; he was cared for by a woman named Barbara Hill, who was a member of the top secret government agency known as the SHTTF (Superhuman Threat Task Force). What the objective of this experiment was is unknown. While going about her daily tasks at the project, Dr. Hill learned that the program had been terminated, all evidence was to be destroyed, and the baby known only then as SKT-17 (she affectionately called him "Scott") was to be eliminated. Having recently lost her own child due to the actions of a drunk driver who also claimed the life of Dr. Hill's husband, she could not stand the thought that this child who she began to see as her own, could be killed. She stole the child from the laboratory which created him, and fled to the north. She gave the child to a trusted friend, Jacob Morse and his young bride Elizabeth. Soon after, Dr. Hill was tracked down by agents of the SHTTF and killed. Jacob and Elizabeth took the young baby, and continued calling him Scott as they felt that there would be no need to change his name, seeing as that is what Dr. Hill had called him his whole life.

(Scott knows none of this, as his parents were never told the whole story by Dr. Hill. He was given a disc that holds the details of his origin by Dr. Jenkins, one of the men that worked on the project originally, however Scott has not built up the courage to actually look at it yet. He keeps it in a box under his dresser)

Scott was raised by the Morse's as one of their own children. He always knew that he was different, that he had these abilities, but he never understood why. As his powers developed throughout his childhood, he became increasingly confused and angry. This was a cause for concern for his parents, because they never understood exactly why their son was this way. Eventually he learned to deal with his gifts. At first he used his gifts for selfish reasons, often profiting from using them dishonestly (mostly in athletic bets). However, after an incident which left his brother crippled, he began using his abilities to help people. He went on to Lost Haven University graduating with a dual degree in history and education, and went on to be one of the more popular teachers at Lost Haven's Sherman High School. Unfortunately he found it nearly impossible to balance his teaching job with his duties as the superhero Icon. He ultimately had to choose his career as a hero over his teaching job in order to avoid a public hearing in front of the school board, which would have raised questions that Scott did not want to have to answer. After being forced to resign from his position as a history teacher, Scott begins preparations for the opening of his club, "The Hub," along with his good friend and (as well as DJ) Eric Dean.

Hero Type: (Select one)
Muscle

Power Level (Select one below):

3. World Level (Ex. Flash, Superman)

Powers (Be Specific): Flight, near invulnerability, super strength, super speed, able to fire "hot" kinetic blasts from his hands, Optic blasts and an almost radar sense that allows him to focus in on people in distress, enhanced hearing

Attributes (Select one at each category:

Strength Level: 350 tons

Speed/Reaction Timing Level: 1000 MPH, or faster in flight

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 4 hours
Agility: 15X Human level.

Intelligence: Average

Fighting Skill: Untrained

Resources: Average

Weaknesses (If your stats chosen are deemed powerful enough by a Game Master with no weakness, the character will fall under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters. Even with a weakness, a Game Master may rule it as a Level 3 or 4 character): While nearly invulnerable, will succumb to enough punishment. Does get overconfident in his abilities. Is susceptible to mind control

Supporting Characters(Does your character have a significant other? A mother? Friend? Who are they, what do they have to do with your character?):
Jacob Morse-Father
Elizabeth Morse-Mother
Jennifer Morse-Little Sister (Deceased, Flashbacks)
Kelly James -Friend
Brandon Morse-Older Brother
Brenda Johnson-close friend
Mark Roberts-Friend, Brenda's Husband
Ryan Maxwell-friend
Eric Dean-Friend, DJ
Keira Parker-friend
Haze- Former enemy, now occasionally fights along side Icon
various patrons, police, criminals aquaintances all will be described when used

Three reasons why you have chosen that character:

1. He's a character that I have created and care for deeply, also, his supporting characters offer an opportunity for a richer RPG experience

2. I think I had a fair amount of success with him in season one, and looking forward to seeing how far I can take him in season 3

3. I believe that I can have a great amount of fun with this particular character

Write two complete sentences using proper English grammar explaining what you think you can bring to the RPG: I believe that I can bring a good character as well as a bit of experience into this game. I do admit that I am a bit rusty, however that rust has worn off a bit, yet I found myself bored with my last character as he did not really fit into this game as it stands now.

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: as many as possible

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards:
iconredesign1pw7.png
yes

Sample Origin Post (Minimum Four paragraphs containing dialogue):

"Hurry Up, get that money into the bags!" One of the masked assailants screamed to one of the others.

Four masked men had stormed into Centennial Bank demanding that all the money be handed over. Juanita Juarez crouched in a corner, trying not to look at the carnage on the floor. However, she didn't have to look at it, he knew exactly what had happened in the moments after the masked men entered the bank. Two security guards and a customer were all dead, killed in the hail of gunfire that erupted when the masked men made their intentions clear. Trying to avoid detection, she just sat there; huddled in the corner, hoping that this would all end soon.

"This is Captain Price of the Lost Haven Police Department. We don't want anyone to get hurt, just come out and place your weapons on the ground." A voice came from outside. The four masked man became agitated, prodding the tellers to hurry with the money.

The man who seemed to be leading the robbers went over to the large glass door and opened it a crack as if he were to begin negotiating a way out. Instead, he fired several shots at the police cruisers parked in front of the bank. The police returned fire, sending shattered glass all over the inside of the bank.

"Hold your fire d*mn it!" Captain Price ordered, recognizing the danger that the civilians inside the bank were in. He puts the megaphone he is holding to his mouth again.

"Hold your fire, there is no need for anymore bloodshed. We can resolve this peacefully, and without any more casualties." Then another shot rings out, forcing Price to get back behind the squad cars.

Realizing that the situation is getting worse, the lead masked man began looking around the bank looking for a way out of the bank that didn't involve him being in prison or a body bag.

"Jimmy, go around and check the back, maybe we can get out that way."

The thug that the lead masked man was talking to nodded and went out the back, and came back moments later looking alittle panicked.

"That's covered too, three maybe four units out there. We're trapped."

The lead masked man looks around at the hostages and sets his sights on Juanita Juarez, who is still huddled in the corner. He quickly moves over to her and grabs her by the hair, forcing her to her feet. "GET UP!" he screams at her. She lets out a cry as he forces her against the wall.

"Everyone up, NOW!" He screams at the hostages, as the other masked men corral the remaining hostages up against the same wall as Juanita.

"Alright folks, this is real simple. We're getting out of here, and you're all going to make sure that we get out safely. We're all going to walk out together, and your gonna be standing right in front of us as a human shield. If the pigs open fire, you'll be there to make sure that we don't get hit. And if you try to run, make no mistake about it, I will shoot you. Now, are we all clear on that?"

Suddenly confusion takes over as there is an explosion of glass, and what can almost be described as some sort of whirlwind inside the bank. The gunmen and hostages gather their wits and they see a man standing before them. He is dressed in a dark blue body suit with silver bands on the arms and legs, a blue and silver cape, and he has a thin mask that is the same shade of blue as his costume. The man just stands there as the gunmen open fire on him. The gunmen and hostages stand there in amazement as they watch the bullets just bounce off him.

"Oh no, this ain't hapening, this AIN'T happening!" The lead thug shrieks as he continues to fire his weapon until it runs out of bullets. Then the man fires optic blasts at the four masked men's weapons, knocking them from their grips. The man in blue grabs the first masked man and tosses him into a wall, obviously holding back as to not serious injure the man.

"That's enough guys, it's over. Give it up and nobody has to get hurt." He says to the other three men. They think it over for a moment, and then stand down.

Moments later the man leads the hostages and the masked men out of the bank to the police who are waiting down on the street. When he met Captain Price and the other officers they just stood there for a moment looking at him, not knowing what to make of this new player in the city.

"Thanks for the help son." Captain Price felt somewhat embarrassed at the hokiness of what he said, but it was all he was able to muster.

"I'm just glad I was able to help sir." Then in front of the police, and the media that had gathered at the bank, he just flew away.

We forgot to change something to do with character limits.....

What's the situation here, homies?

Give me a synopsis if you could. :)

Alrighty, I edited into the opening post the option for a third character, as long as the player has proven that they can simultaneously handle at least two characters for a lengthy period of time.

Considering a second character...might actually need an idea for a character before I apply for one, though.

Create a Hero RPG SEASON II Application

Character you have created: Desmond Rhodes
Alias: Cerberus

Speech Color (Actually say what you're using, don't go "Like this", or what not): Century Gothic

Character Alignment: Hero

Identity: Secret

Character Personality: Desmond, much like his father, Hades, is grim and morbid, though incredibly loyal to those that gain his trust. He rarely makes lasting relationships with anyone other than his mother, whom he loves with all his heart.

At school, he is a loner, other than his best friend Penny. The two have been inexplicably drawn to each other since the day they met.

Though this loner attitude is purely Desond’s decision. He is a handsome boy, and is often the target of girls’ crushes at school.

Uniform/costume:
cerebrusredesign4.png

Origin Info/Details: On a trip to the world of the living, Hades, one of the Gods of Olympus, was struck by the beauty of a young woman, and laid with her, conceiving a child. Hades revealed who he was to her , and begged her to keep the child, believing that the baby would one day grow into a great hero, the likes of which have not been seen since the days of Heracles and Achilles.

Karen Rhodes, the mother, named the newborn baby boy Desmond, and Hades granted the mother and son unlimited wealth as a way of compensating for the boy not having a father. But Karen did not bring the boy up in a lavish palace. They lived a middle class life, even though they could be the richest people on the face of the earth.

Desmond grew up a lonely and aloof child. He would often be seen loitering in graveyards and outside hospitals, obviously attracted by places that death surrounded. He made no friends, and those that tried were often scared off by the boy’s morbid fascinations.
One thing Desmond did love and enjoy was fencing and the martial arts. He trained with the best available teachers, and was a master combatant by the age of 15.

At the beginning of high school, he met Penelope Avalon, and instantly the two became the best of friends. His mother hoped he was coming out of his shell, but he still only associated with Penny, and no one else.

During the alien invasion, Desmond began to notice changes occurring in rapid succession. He seemed to be getting stronger by the day, he was able to catch a fly with ease, and he was more agile than ever. More importantly, or shocking, was that he could see and hear the dead. Every time a city was destroyed or a group of people were snuffed out, Desmond could sense their souls heading to the afterlife.

Hades sent Chiron, the ancient trainer of the heroes of Greece, back to the land of the living to train Desmond to use his powers due to an unknown threat that has surfaced since the invasion. Demigods all over the world have been found murdered, and a prophecy has pegged Desmond as a great hero.

His training has basically just started, but he has made great strides, and has announced his presence to the criminal fraternity as the crime fighter "Cerberus".

Hero Type: Supernatural (Demigod, Son of Hades)

Power Level: City Level

Powers: Being the son of a God, Desmond was granted with extraordinary powers that he has only now begun to grow into. His strength, agility, and reaction time are all at super human levels, as all demigods.

On top of these, Desmond also gains the specific powers of his parentage. As the son of Hades he’s empowered with the strength of the Underworld. He’s able to summon hellfire at will, and cannot be burned by earthly fire. He also gains the ability to conceal himself in shadow, transport through shadows, and to construct shadow constructs as offensive weapons. He also gains a small power over the Earth, and is able to open up small fissures, or create small tremors.

Desmond’s most important power, however, is that of Necromancy. He is able to summon the dead to do his bidding, including fighting for him, being his watch dog, or spying on his enemies..

He's still not very competent in all of his powers, but he is getting better.

Attributes:

Strength Level:
50tons

Speed/Reaction Timing Level: 30 MPH

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 3 hours

Agility: 15X

Intelligence: Average

Fighting Skill: Mastered (unless this bumps me up to a level 3, then it’ll be Trained).

Resources: Extreme

Weaknesses: Des’s powers weaken during the day, due to the fact he is technically an agent of the underworld. His superhuman strength and agility are decreased, and he cannot shadow transport or use his abilities to make darkness constructs. His necromancy is also weakened.

His fire powers are unaffected.

Supporting Characters (Does your character have a significant other? A mother? Friend? Who are they, what do they have to do with your character?):

Karen Rhodes, his mother. She obviously knows of Desmond’s descent, but has yet to tell her son about his father. She is a loving mother, and one of the two people that Desmond trusts completely.

Penelope Avalon, his best, and only, friend. From the moment the met when the two of them reached high school, they were instantly drawn to one another. Penny often sticks up for Desmond when boys pick on hi at school. She is by all standards a beautiful girl, and is a cheerleader at school.

Chiron “The Trainer of Heroes” Chiron will be introduced to train Desmond in the ways of a hero, and how to control his powers.

List a few reasons why you've created that character:

I started playing him at the end of last season, and I want to flesh out him and his supporting characters even more, including a pretty BA villain, who will be a huge threat for the universe.

I also want to have Desmond use the resources that his father left him. He'll start being very Batman-y with all the money he has.

What can you bring to the RPG?: I feel like I am a decent RPer, with a very interesting character to bring to life.

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?: Yes

Sample Post:

"Breath easy, Desmond," Chiron says through the earpiece from the Eye. "You're doing fine."

It's been weeks since I've started training, and I'm on my first patrol in Lost Haven by myself, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. The past few weeks have been full of the normal high school drama that I've tried so hard to avoid. Penny's been pissed ever since the morning with the bully. The bright side was everyone else was leaing me alone for a change as well.

I spring off the rooftop and land hard onto the dark alley below. My strength, speed, and agility have grown by leaps and bounds since the training began, and my other powers are also coming under control. I still can't summon warriors from the Underworld, but my fire and shadow powers are almost fully under my control.

Sirens down the street grab my attention, and I run deeper into the shadows of the alley. Allowing the darkness to envelope me, I summon the powers of the Underworld and teleport to other shadows closer to the scene.

I can see police set up in a barricade formation in front of a bank, shouting instructions to an assailant inside, "Release the hostages, and we'll talk!"

"Chiron," I say into the communicator, "I've got a hostage situation. I'm going in."

The shadows again swirl around me and I feel myself displaced into the darkened bank. I can see the five hostages, and the lone gunman standing, obviously nervous, a sub machine gun shaking slightly in his hand.

"Let the people go, man!" I yell from the corner of the building before teleporting to the other side of the room. He fires wildly, hitting nothing but drywall. Slinking quietly in the darkness I come up behind the people, and quickly teleport them outside, and then quickly I reenter the building.

"Where the hell did they go!? Who the hell is in here!?" the man with the gun screams, obviously terrified. He begins pacing back and forth, as I watch him from the wall behind him. I summon the forces of the night, and tentacles of darkness spring out from the shadows around me, disarming him and raising him off the ground. "Wha-what the hell is this!?"

"Not so tough now, are you?" I ask mockingly as my figure emerges from the darkness, my helmet the only thing clearly visible in the haze. "Next time you or anybody like you tries something like this, remember what happened here tonight. Remember the fear you felt as the powers of the Underworld closed in around you. And remember my form. For I will always be here. I'm the shadow in the corner of your room when you go to sleep. I'm the living nightmare, sprung from your dream. And I will not rest until the evil of this world is judged."

"Who are you?" he asks, tears rolling down his cheek.

"Call me Cerberus," I snarl before driving my fist into his face, knocking him out. I turn and hear the police attempting to break into the barricaded door, and teleport out, disappearing into the night.

Give me a synopsis if you could. :)

Let's see. Things started off alittle slow...then we had a massive alien invasion which devastated the Earth. Entire cities wiped off the planet.

Heroes came together, fought off the aliens and eventually drove them from the planet.

Superhero team was put together, officially sanctioned by the US government...they even built them a nifty little headquarters in Lost Haven.

Heroes rose, heroes fell. It was all kinds of badassery

I would miss the hero team up three years in the making. :cmad: :csad: Oh well...I'm still interested in comin' back as Pulse.

Well, we'd love to have him back. Nobody's touched Blitzen since you left, so it's still pretty much an open slate

I'll read up on what happened and hopefully get back in the game. I'm looking forward to the hero team in here.
