I'm sorry for the short sociological rant, but the ideology of "ignore him" is the type of system that develops weak minded people who can't fight their own battles anymore. People who cower and back down like sissys. People who bottle things up instead of having the courage to deal with things head on when people confront them, then they end up going crazy and wear black trenchcoats and shoot up schools of defenseless people with semi-automatic hand guns. "Ignore him" ... no, defend yourself. Cause no one else is going to stand up for you. No wonder we have generations of boys instead of men. I don't care if it is a message board, if someone gets out of line with you, you have every right to put them in their place.

You know, defending one's honor is a fine concept and all. Really, more power to you for that. And I'm not even being sarcastic when I say that... I certainly wouldn't want to let someone drag my name through the mud, were I threatened or generally insulted for no apparent reason. I'd punch, yell, and do whatever I could to make sure my diginity remained intact.

But this is a messageboard, not an arena. There are literally hundreds of other people you have to take into account when dealing with a situation like this. Sure, it's not fun for one to sit back and take an insult, but by the same token, do you really think the people who read this topic really want to sideswipe the argument just to get to the real topic? Do you really think people came in here to see eachother duke it out? Obviously not. This is about The Dark Knight figures, and dragging out an argument longer than it needs to be dragged out strays from that topic and makes the thread no longer desireable to read.

Now, in your case, you actually were on topic. So this really doesn't apply to you, specifically. But what I'm talking about is the back and forth banter of childish insults that came out of this. I saw that, and immediately, I was taken off the topic and forced to address it. As a fan, that's not fun either. It wasn't dealing with the figures, and it definitely had nothing to do with The Dark Knight.

I hoped we would be done with the whole ridiculously colored Batman figs after Batman & Robin. I was wrong.

I think it's even worse! Because the films don't have outrageous costumes in them already it's almost like giving the toy companies free reign. I saw these Power Tek figures in (an Australian) Toys R Us - Batman is metallic purple. Next to these the standard range almost looks inviting! Thank god I got my hands on some MM figures because I was seriously considering stooping to buying the regular line.

I felt much better (but my wallet didn't) when I got the 12 inch figure.

Who cares. Maybe Mattel should get off their fat asses and give us plenty of Wave 1 MM figures instead. Seriously this is getting ridiculous...I've never seen this much hoopla over toys before. I've been visiting Targets, Walmarts, ToysRUs, for 3 weeks now each having none of the MM figures. Some have told me they've been recalled, some have said they needed to be restocked, and some even removed the tags where the MM figures should go...

I'm gonna get the Captain Obvious award, but damn, Mattel should've ditched the kiddie line and focused solely on the MM figures for maximum production. I continue to see all the multi-colored Batman figures go unsold. If the kids got their first dibs, I'm sure they'd want the MMs. And it's not like the company's making the greatest amount on the MMs on the count of scalpers managing to rake up to nearly 10X the original amount.

They've renamed the line.

I do actually remember seeing tags for a 'hyper' assortment--I just had no idea what that was....

Being that mattel also owns the rights to he-man merch, and will be selling it again relatively soon, maybe they renamed the batman line to avoid confusion??? (Masters of the Universe/Movie Masters)Sounds stupid, but these things ususally are...
