What was the purpose of the Joker hanging out the back of the cop car after he escaped from Jail

Do you really need an answer to this?

Joker is theatrical by nature. He does things like that. He was like a kid who likes to stick his head out of the window in a car.

and who was driving the car?

One of his henchmen who had been in jail with him, I'd say.

The question I asked wasn't meant to be rhetorical- it was a simple question. It was not meant to piss people off or to criticize the movie. I didn't understand the concept of the scene so I thought I would ask those of you who've seen it 15-20 times. I have no idea why everyone acts like a *****ebag when I'm around.

No wonder the Bat boards have a bad rep through out the Hype community

I was only pissing about Donk. It was a silly question though. It was Joker escaping jail and acting like a dog, simple as.

Because you're asking why the Joker is doing something. :cwink:

My answer to everything the Joker does: "Why not?" :hoboj:
I understand that he's a loose canon. I get the concept

But showing the scene didn't make much sense to me

A 5 second clip of showing the Joker escaping in a Police car didn't make sense to you? Why?

Probably because he had been locked up, sweaty in a stuffy cell/int. room, and wanted to feel the air on his face.

Consider the scenes before and after:

Gordon observes the carnage at the warehouse where Rachel died. Someone tells him the Joker has escaped the MCU with Lau. Gordon realizes this is what Joker wanted all along.

The film then cuts to Joker escaping the MCU in the only way he knows how - in a police car with his head out the window.

The next cut shows Batman at the warehouse, dejectedly finding Dent's coin. It's clear the Joker has won this round. That's what the "head out the window" scene is emphasizing - Joker's triumph.

A 5 second clip of the Joker hanging out of a moving cop car didn't make sense to me.

There's nothing to get or make sense of! He just does things! And it looked rad! There ya go!

1. goes along with the dog motif

2. a mocking instances when you are taken to jail you are confined to the back and handcuffed. When he broke out of jail he is doing the exact opposite and hanging out the side free.

3. To establish even more so that he escaped and he was planning to get away the whole time hence the calming look on his face.

It is like the five minute intro, there is really no need for it. you could just run the movie after that

Donk, along with it being Joker's triumph, like Anita said, he shows that he can do anything he wants and is unstoppable.

I ask again, why? What was so bizarre to you about Joker doing something so theatrical?

Joker sticking his head out of the car was one of the greatest scenes of the film. Along with the lack of music, it gave you a raw feeling of the anarchy that the Joker unleashed on Gotham. It almost seemed like that scene set the tone for the Joker's character again (in addition to the pencil trick). It's an iconic scene IMO.

You guys and girls are all wasting your time arguing with donk70.

He's hated Nolan's bat films since the beginning.

Of all the time I've been coming here I've noticed he's the type of fan that won't be happy untill someone makes a film that is exactly and I mean exactly like the comics.

It's better to just not get into it with him when it comes to Nolan's Batman films.
