The Death of Batman (?!?!?)

i'm just getting into Golden Age Flash. i've always liked Jay Garrick. does this stuff get retconned later or what?

Not really. Jay's history is pretty much intact in the present continuity.

I'd like some more Barry stories, but I hope I never read about his actual return.

Flashbacks are fine for me. I enjoy stuff like Brave & The Bold: Flash & Green Lantern.

Yeah, the Brave and the Bold was tight.....but still in shock about the idea of Barry coming back. Well maybe they'll resurrect him and then have go evil....after all he can't totally stay a 'goody-two-shoes' character in todays world. I think he would make a totally cool 'Darth Flash' and dog Wally to the ends of the Earth.

Seriously we dont need the flashes to come back to live.
I know some of you guys are ancient, but some dead things should stay dead. In our society the young should rule and that belong to wally, bart, and the real man on top JAY.

Yeah, if they're gonna resurrect any speedster, why not Bart? His death sucked and he had some real potential that he never got to live up to, unlike Barry.

You just KNOW he's coming back....knowing the idiots at DC they'll have him fully grown and years of experience under his belt. (which sucks for us readers since we can't even ride along in the adventure and even watch him grow.)
Kind of what Marvel did with Franklin Richards as Psi-Lord or something right?

IMO, its very stupid to introduce a character as a kid (or child) and then miss out on his growing up and after a few issues later; he comes back from the future and starts doing the hero thing in the present or in the characters past. That's why characters like Rachel Summers and Franklin Richards never really caught my interest.

Yeah, he really should. He could be so much better, with his powers slowly creeping past whatever psychic blocks or burnout or whatever plot device du jour they've cooked up to nullify them this time and making him scarily badass.

Yeah, NOW he's back at a reasonable age, but that didn't stop Marvel from growing him up during that short lived Fantastic Force (what a joke) and bringing him back from the future as Psi-Lord.

Oh god, that was such a sucky series.

Yeah, but that was just temporary. Plus, Franklin sucked as Psi-Lord. He always sucks as an adult because they wrote themselves into a corner by implying he's got greater-than-Celestial-level potential because there's just no way to write a character with such great powers running around Earth having problems with anything. So in order to keep Franklin with the FF as an adult, they have to tone his power down to pathetically low levels, leaving the reader going, "wtf? I thought this kid was supposed to be godlike when he grew up." :o

Well maybe they'll resurrect him and then have go evil....after all he can't totally stay a 'goody-two-shoes' character in todays world. I think he would make a totally cool 'Darth Flash' and dog Wally to the ends of the Earth.

Congratulations on summing up in three short sentences everything I hate about modern-day comics and the people who produce them.

I wonder how many times they'll have to rehash that good-guy-dies-then-comes-back-evil plot before they realize that it's always sucked.

I guess all the series really have to suck before we're so brainwashed by the idiots work before we can 'appreciate' the even stupider stories.....

Can anyone save us from these wretches?

Why was the damien character created?? he is sooo lame. Batman is DCs biggest money maker And the day they try to kill of batman i the day i never read any of his comics again

I like the angle and the idea of the publishers trying to make death mean something again, but this whole concept seems to similar to Cap's death.
