The Death of Batman (?!?!?)

I like the angle and the idea of the publishers trying to make death mean something again, but this whole concept seems to similar to Cap's death.

Yeah.....seems like anything Marvel does, DC has to follow...and anything DC has Marvel has to eventually do.

Sentry? Come on..... I mean, I was used to Gladiator being the closest thing to Superman in Marvel universe; Buried Alien (LOL) being a former DC resident; and now, in Avengers they had a YELLOW costumed Superman character....seriously....if there isn't any originality done soon.....I'm going to climb up a watchtower and hit these dumbass writers with my Paintball special. (to be a little bit closer to the darkside....what a goal)

IDIOTS, DC IS LOOSING IT. Marvel kills off steve rogers and like the DOGS they are, DC wants to follow in marvels shoes.....

Anyone want to guess how soon DC is going to make a Carnage type character with all the craziness and sybiote based abilities intact?

DC is vastly becoming one of my least favorite books......

They aren't killing him off.

How can DC be a book?

DC have been trailing marel for years they must reallly be desperate to kill off batman.

That's quite unlikely. DC's making enough bucks as it is, and will always have the WB backing them. They don't really need to worry about beating Marvel.

Are you Joking?

Marvel is a complete mess at the moment

I'm speakig as someone who used to pick up 35-40 marvel books per month. Every single one has been dropped because they're either destroying the characters (anything to do with spider-man for example) or it's initiative related (:down:down)

DC is FAR more interesting at present

Booster Gold's book is one of the best comics I've ever read

If they Kill Batman I'll quit DC... Like I quit Marvel After they had Cap take a bullet nap...And I don't care if they bring em' back later...shoudn't of happened in the first place..makes for a good story my ass...

I agree, I guess that's the downside of being on top for a long time...eventually everything can't live up to its former status.

And even if they weren't killing off Batman/Bruce....the timing of them even putting such a project in motion is just really, really stuiped since they must have known through their rather intricate sources that Marvel would be doing this particular story arc and here comes the Dogs; saying 'duh, that sounds like a good idea.....duh.....let's follow them using batman.'

So techically, both Steve Rogers and Bruce Wayne will be back in their respectable costumes at the end of the storylines.....

Does anyone want to justify why we should even WASTE our money on something that's not even going to last at all?

from tony S daniel's blog:

This is a big storyline that I'm about to start pencilling next week. By the time this issue hits, people will be seeing how Grant Morisson has weaved all the little puzzle pieces together. As a penciller, I try to convey what Grant is trying to tell. So my layouts are the most important element for me. After I pencil the pages it's out of my hands and I rely on the inking and coloring to lend itself to the overall feel of the book.
What you'll notice most, starting partly with issue 673 is a change up in the inking. We've pulled in Sandu Florea to take over on inks full time starting on 674, but he inked a good portion of 673 to begin with. He brings a complex level of line work and depth that really brings out the best in my pencils. The cover for 676, Batman RIP, is his first cover over me and there you can already see what he brings to the table.
So I am excited for this upcoming storyline, especially now that I feel that I've got my footing finally and the rest of the creative team in place for a heck of a run. We're aiming for no fill ins at all during RIP so wish us luck

OMG they is gonna killz teh batmanz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

really?

kill batman? just like they killed supes right?

sorry, but for me, after you kill the godfather of all superheroes, and then bring him back.....(thank God!) every time another hero gets killed its just dumb. it totally bores me. to me, it says "this chaacter is losing interest and needs a shot in the arm."

thats just my personal opinion...but c'mon...if you are going to kill a character, then KILL him.

wait 5-10 years and then reboot him.

dont "kill" a character and then have him bacj 6 months later as "reincarnated" or having some other dude take over for him.

its just not right, IMHO

That was a bad idea. Captain America has been one of the best books in the entire industry. Missing out on petty s**t.

ive been missing out on cap because i hate JQ and refuse to support him... lots of marvel stuff im missing out on :(

ya but i decided a long time ago that man will never see a dollar of my money

You mean another dollar, right? Presumably, you must've already given him a few dollars in order to read the necessary comics to arrive at your resolution to never give him another dollar.

si... i stopped buying marvel after house of m/decimation
