- Recruiting supervillains such as Bullseye, the Green Goblin, Venom, and dozens of others to fight for his cause.
Creating a rip-off of the Suicide Squad is going to screw the Superhuman Task Force over sooner or later. Also, the Punisher allied himself with the Secret Avengers because the government is recruiting criminals to hunt down heroes.
Come on Hippy. You're one of the few smart ones around here, honestly you should be able to see WHY he does this. It's not nearly as simple as you're making it sound. And not nearly as relevant with the Punisher.
hippie_hunter said:- Cloning Thor resulting in the death of Goliath
Cloning is a felony in the United States and he not only cloned a dear friend of his, the clone killed another friend of his.
That I can agree with. Though really, if you look down at it, Thor was nothing more than a "personalized" weapon. And while it may be immoral, war doesn't exactly create the perfect stomping grounds for morality. Anybody who's ever been in charge of a situation even similar to his would know this.
Yes, because Tony Stark is such a bad guy, that all arguments against him are mainly out of context, and usually not thought out all that well.hippie_hunter said:- Beating the crap out of Captain America and Spider-Man
He nearly killed Captain America and then sent the new Thunderbolts after him, and they were going to kill Spider-Man if it weren't for S.H.I.E.L.D. ordering them not to go any further on harming Spider-Man and for the Punisher killing them
Dwell on those fights, and THEN post to me how they were bad.
hippie_hunter said:- Turning Spider-Man into his personal biznich
This was more of a character ass-raping for Spider-Man.
This is iffy, see Pete wasn't really just his little weasel as much as he was the victim of Tony trying to ride a fine line between friendship and professionalism. He could've gave Pete all the info, and have it rot his mind, eventually turning him against Tony, and forcing Tony to hunt him down, which Tony did NOT want to do. Or, he could keep Spidey safe, and oblivious. It's how a real government works. It's why the populous isn't given ALL information.
hippie_hunter said:- Ratting out Spider-Woman
Spider-Woman was his own fudging teammate and showed no signs of co-operating with the Secret Avengers, she was co-operating with Nick Fury. She trusted him!
Kind of also out of context.
Re-read New Avengers, and tell me exactly how you kind of embellished this to make Tony look bad. I know you're smart enough to find it.
hippie_hunter said:- Arresting his own friends
He's going after Spider-Man, Captain America, the Human Torch, the Invisible Woman, Spider-Woman, Luke Cage, Falcon, and others. People whom he has worked with, respected, and committed themselves to fighting injustice just as much as he has. He's formed friendships with many of those people and he just tosses them aside.
If my friend went out and killed someone, I would not hesitate to turn them in, if for the right reasons. If I was the lead of a group sent to capture them, I'd practice non-corruption, and do the task handed to me, and THEN figure out how to fix it when I don't have half a million people telling me what I should be doing.
You're blowing it out of context, and trying to slaughter his character. Works for lawyers against the norm. I'm not the norm to deal with.
hippie_hunter said:- Being an ally of Interim Executive Director Maria Hill and President George W. Bush
Hill's a b***h and George Bush is supposed to be evil in the eyes of liberals like Mark Millar
Hill's really no worse than Fury. If anything she's more moral than Fury EVER was. Not that anybody will ever admit it because of their "Rah Rah" Patriot mentality. (Comparable to the American feeling when they attacked Afghanistan, and used the same leftover feeling to get Iraq.) But hey, who am I to judge. I'm just an outside party.
hippie_hunter said:- Having contracts similar to Haliburtons for Stark Industries
A little fishy huh?
Come on. Don't tell me you're not seeing the larger picture. Stark builds weapons he knows he can trust, so he doesn't get weapons that are only meant to kill.
hippie_hunter said:- Entering soverign Inhuman territory
Considering that he's an employee of the U.S. Government and he enters into Inhuman territory while the Inhumans are in a cold war with the United States...
That's IF it's recognized. Otherwise, it's just the Inhumans stealing an old Kree site that the Watcher lived in already.
hippie_hunter said:- Developing a Guantanmo-esque prison in the Negative Zone
This prison is even worse than Guantanamo and unlike the bastards who somewhat deserve it, those who are imprisoned in the 42 complex really don't deserve such a punishment
Once again, larger picture. You're not seeing it. More importantly, you're not providing an alternative.
hippie_hunter said:- Sending the Hulk into space which caused him to be inslaved on the planet Sakaar and leading a rebellion there, causing instability on the planet
This speaks for itself
Yeah, that's bad. I mean, they could've imprisoned him here on Earth forever, barring him from any and all human contact and movement since people have been trying to find a way to help him for so long, and failed everytime. It was inhuman, sending him to an entire planet, where he could've truly been alone like he's wanted to for this entire time.
Granted, a problem they couldn't have predicted occurred, but the fact was that they were trying to help everybody this way.
People complain about North Korea having nuclear weapons, yet the Hulk should've never been sent off, of course.
hippie_hunter said:- Telling Wolverine not to go after Nitro
Along with getting heroes to register, they should have went after Nitro too.
Because THAT should've been primary? Nitro, a person who is going to go into hiding, and the entire resources should have been centered on Nitro? Waste several months to try and find someone rather than containing a big problem then go after Nitro?
Hardly. He doesn't want Wolverine going after him because he knows Wolverine will kill him on site. And you can't just go after one person with a country. You have to contain problems, then address them.
It's not like the first thing you do after a nuclear weapons incident is just start digging anywhere and everywhere. You assess where the humans would still be alive, and designate a task force, strategize, THEN go after the guys who blew them up. You don't simply just gung ho it and launch a militia.
If your form of justice is very "eye for an eye" sort of deal, then you should be more or less agreeing with Tony over this one.
