However, the security cameras aka all of NYC don't.

The security cameras are not also known as all of New York City.

I'm going to buy a security camera (or all of NYC). :o

In Dark Raven's world, there's no such thing as security footage getting leaked out to the public... interesting.

What I'm telling you is that aka stands for "also known as". It doesn't mean i.e., or e.g.

You say "Matt Murdock, also known as (aka) Daredevil" because aka refers to a person or thing's name or what they're otherwise called.

A security camera is not also known as or also called "all of New York".

Hey Dark Raven, "Tall and tanned and young and lovely" isn't a location. Just pointing that out for you.

Soooooooo anyways...

In CW shows I hate all those hanger-on characters that for some reason each hero for some reason has in their lair, but do you think we'll get something similar on Netflix?

I actually want to see the support characters meet more than the Defenders.

Well Jerry already met Foggy and Colleen so there's that connection. And of course Claire will be the glue of everything.

If anybody should be wearing a mask to avoid being recognized by security cameras, it should be Danny.

I think it was Colleen who basically said to him "You're a public figure, and that makes you a huge target." If that ain't reason enough, nothing ever will be. Danny, a recently returned-from-the-dead billionaire, would be WAY more of a target than Murdock, a small-time lawyer in Hell's Kitchen.

This explains the hole Daredevil and Elektra stumble upon... maybe.

Also confirms that DD has given up the mantle of Daredevil for a bit.

From The New York Bulletin Site

So it looks like Daredevil has indeed ditched his costume as speculated, at least temporarily, (rather than Iron Fist getting one) because he'd look completely out of place next to the other three.
Behold the new Daredevil costume?!

Costumes?! We don't need no bloody costumes!

The hand clearly knows who DD is.

If I recall correctly the plot of the season 2 finale was the hand strong arming a cop to get the names of everyone DD has saved in order to hold them hostage to draw him out. And nothing after that suggests they figured it out. Really what makes you think they know he's Matt Murdock?

He's probably been too boo'd up with Karen to be DD

Actually, it's been hinted at in the Entertainment Weekly article with Charlie Cox, that it has more to do with Elektra.
So let’s talk where Matt is at the start of The Defenders. Where do we pick up with him?
Well, it’s been a few months since the end of season 2. I think it’s been quite a challenging few months for him. He took the death of Elektra very badly —I think he feels responsible for that. One of Matt’s big things is trying to protect the people he loves, which is why he keeps his identity hidden, and he’s failed. He’s left holding the dead body of a loved one, and so I think he’s tried to turn a corner.

It’s almost like quitting an addiction in the hope that it will get easier. He’s perhaps a little bit lost, and the best he can do for now is to not engage in his vigilante activities. When we meet him at the beginning of The Defenders, I’m not sure he’s completely found peace with that idea. I think he’s doing the best with what he can at the time. He finds himself between a rock and a hard place, which is the crux of his issue really from the beginning of season 1. “Should I or shouldn’t I? What is more beneficial to society?”

They sent an assassin to his apartment.

He had his mask off during the final fight.

Madame Gao is intelligent

didn't the ninja follow them to his apartment and was killed by Elektra, thus unable to report back to the hand. The very reason Elektra killed him?

I did forget about his mask getting knocked off, but it was dark and I doubt any members of the hand know who matt murdock is and just saw an average white guy. The point is, Matt still feels the need to hide his identity, whether or not the hand knows, Matt clearly still feels the need to have a mask. Protecting his identity is a huge part of his character, but not of the other characters care. Luke Cage is in the public eye, Danny Rand to too naive to realize he should, Jessica doesn't give a crap, but Matt does.

That'd be so weak & regressive. Oh well

How so? It was someone he loved and they died. He became Daredevil to help people and when he couldn't even help/save one of the closest people to him, he lost hope. I don't get how that's weak or regressive.

Because the whole season he kept telling everyone leave me alone your better without me. He kept telling Foggy he wasn't going to quit and people get hurt every night he doesn't go out.

So just because Elektra died the rest of the kitchen doesn't matter? He said "I'm the enemy of the hand"

So all that just stops? It's gotta suck listening to all of the kitchens cries for help every night now.

Idk I just hate the girl dies so I can't function trope

You are looking at it from an outsiders perspective and not how he is actually dealing with it. He lost something super close and personal to him because of his Daredevil identity. It's making him incredibly unsure about if being Daredevil is helping people. Karen was abducted by the Hand, along with all the people he saved. Elektra got killed. Stick almost got killed. All of the people he cares about got hurt/affected by his actions as Daredevil. So it all kind of adds up to him probably assuming that he can try and do more help as a lawyer and not Daredevil. People will still get hurt in his community but his reasons for giving up the mantle make complete sense.

And if you need comic reference just look at Elektra Lives Again, Matt is struggling with Elektra's death so much.

Meh

He said something similar to

"At worst they're a liability at best they're a distraction"

In Season 2. I don't buy just quit being DD after all he did in Season 1&2 + Unresolved Hand problem

You won't convince me and I won't you so I'm moving on from the convo

Why doesn't DD give that mask he's wearing to Iron Fist? That's what Rand should be wearing instead of Murdock. Matt can wear his own mask.

According to reports, he's wearing Jessica Jones's scarf. I think the context is is Matt walked in, wanted to hide his identity, so Jessica helped him out. He didn't bring it with him.

Why does DD end up always looking more like Iron Fist than Iron Fist does?

Because it's not a mask and there are no eye holes. Danny wouldn't be able to see.
