I recently saw this and I can't believe how nobody talks about this movie! It scared the s**t outta me.

It is a very good movie. One of the best horror movies I have seen in a while. What did you think about the ending? What did you take it to mean?

I thought all it meant was she was doomed and there was no way out but she was finally happy cuse she was with her daughter.

The ending they cut was better.

People have been talking about it since before it even came to America, it's hugely popular amongst genre fans and was even well received by critics.

I just finished watching it again, never get tired of it. It's the best film of its kind ever made; and yes, the original UK ending is much better.

I didn't like the original ending (which is the only version I saw), it was just shown too roughly to get a good grip on what was happening.

Other than that I really liked the movie.

I thought it was an amazing movie, so many of the shots look amazing and the story was unlike anything i've ever seen.

i was interested in it because it was so unconventional, I mean, a group of girls goes into a cave and it caves in and theyre stuck with monsters. that just sounded awesome.

what is the other ending?

i think it is the best horror movie of this year. ok i know that it is not scary but its still good.

You all liked it? I couldn't stand it.

Maybe it's because I have a pure distaste for people that speak with a heavy accent like EVERY ****ING CHICK IN THAT MOVIE or maybe its the whole "all the sudden I'm a superior badass chick with super reflexes for no reason" but I still thought it sucked.

Though I was glad they didn't actually try and explain what the **** the things in the caves were. Movies now a days take too ****ing long explaining what the main 'badguy' in them is and it's origin to have a good plot.

The ending was ambigious to me... like it was saying
she made it out of the cave but now she's crazy so mentally she'll always be there. She'll be especially crazy because she killed the girl (Juno) that was sleeping with her husband.

I didnt see it like some of them were suddenly super badass... to me it was more like survival of the fittest. If they wanted to survive they had to fight and that meant hacking, clawing and all the bloody fighting stuff.

The Descent is an amazing movie and the first movie to truly scare me since i was about 14. Neil Marshall is a great director and i cant wait for his next feature. Havent seen the American ending but the British one was good. Great movie overall though.

Great movie, one of the few horror movies that I have come to like this days. Very gory, the first kill to me is the best

Neil Marshall has done 2 great films but he cant write endings for ****.

His new project looks cool as well, still save dog soilders was better

I absolutely agree. Loved this movie.
The ending confused me though, I need to see the other one.

I liked The Descent alot.

Neil Marshall also directed Dog Soldiers which was awsome too.

Maybe you meant nobody here, but I haven't seen one unenthusiastic review for it (and I read every Horror magazine that's published), and I even saw it somewhere as best film of the year, so worry not.

I haven't seen it yet, and every clip I've seen looked lame, but I will trust the masses and get it someday.

I recently got the DVD (Never got around to seeing it in theaters) and really enjoyed it. I want to check out Dog Soldiers now too.

Yeah, I meant here. I don't really read reviews.

Yea, what happened to Dog Soldiers 2?

This movie is amazing, and only one of two movies to ever really scare me(The other being Event Horizon). Unlike most "horror" films, which don't even phase me past the jump shocks of the first viewing, this has remained scary after nearly 10 viewings. Perhaps it has even gotten worse to me, as I often find myself dreading many a moment before it arrives.

The American cut of the ending was balls.
