I always thought it would be hard to make her look, well not ridiculous on screen.
It´s one thing to make cartoons or comics but in a real movie?
So with that in mind and the new info,
I guees they could avoid giving her much time in the MCU.

This just reinforced Scott Lang being the protag of the Ant-Man movie and Pym being old. Wonder where that leaves Janet though.

I hope they stick with a cross-generational Ant-Man movie, where we see Hank and Janet as Ant-Man and Wasp in the 60s, have Lang steal the tech in modern day and become Ant-Man, and possibly set up Cassie Lang as a member of The Avengers later.

As someone whose only exposer to Janet is from A:EMH, was Wasp always that useless in the comics? I like her personality and sass, but in battle she was about as helpful as a poopy flavored lollypop.

Unless of course Hank has a small role as the mysterious creator of Ultron that doesn't show up until Ant-Man.

Joss does get it, and he gets that having Pym create Ultron isn't the best and most sensible route to go in the MCU. They can keep the essence of Ultron's character without Pym being the one make him. As for Pym himself, he may very well be an old guy in the MCU, so he was never going to have the same character arc from the comics in the movie anyway.

Didn't javis die when tony decided to blow up his iron man. Thus Tony creates javis no 2 ultron then the avengers defeats and destroy ultron. Then after movies ant man, doctor strange, black panther , etc.
Then in avengers 5 ultron 56 whatever from the future returns and the twist is it was hank pym that recreate him.

We're crafting our own version of it where his origin comes more directly from The Avengers we already know about.

It's best to just deal. It's hilarious that you would rather have Thanos create Ultron, which would then literally destroy the character because the essence would be gone. The Avengers creating Ultron keeps the essence of the character and in fact strengthens it. I becomes a story about the team itself and not just one character.

I am not saying he created by Thanos solely. I am thinking he is perhaps somehow involved. I am past the being angry bit and thinking of how they are going to go about this.

I just heard this nice theory about Ultron being powered by the Power Gem. I think that would tie in well with Thanos without him having to be there the entire time or directly responsible for Ultron.

I for one like to be surprised and don't mind them changing aspects of a character's origin as long as the essence in maintained, which it seems they're doing here. I'd rather see a reinterpretation than an adaptation of certain things. Characters like the twins and Ultron fit that bill to me.

In the end, as long as it is awesome, I won't have much of anything to complain about. Heck, we are getting a big screen adaptation of Ultron, and Wanda is going to be there. The world is good.

I think it is possible that Robert Redford's SHIELD character may have commissioned Pym to work on the Ultron project in secrecy, with the goal to replace Avengers in the future with an army of Ultron. However, after Pym finished with its AI, they couldn't build an ideal android body for it so he turned to Stark for help. Stark is now no longer Iron Man so he decided to help, but Pym's AI becomes sentinel and gone rogue. Stark felt responsible so he becomes Iron Man again so he can put down the monster he helped created. In the Ant Man movie, it could deal with the aftermath of A2.
