I assume that many people have already seen the pilot episode.
After what happened at the end of the episode, [BLACKOUT]how do you think the relation between Barry and Det West will change or stay the same over the course of the season.[/BLACKOUT]

That was a really heartwarming moment between Joe and Barry at the end of episode two.

I think Joe was holding back a few tears. And the viewers were, too.

That was my favorite scene of episode 2. It was so emotional.

Det West is one of my favorite characters (and easily one of the best actors of the show). I really thought he was going to be a generic dad character from the previews.

The two scenes between Barry and Joe were so emotional. The 'my kid' line and Barry snapping back 'you're not my dad' and seeing how much that hurt Joe and then episode closing out with Barry saying 'seems like a dad to me'. I literally had to hold back my tears.

Agreed ^ i'm loving the Joe/Barry stuff. Martin is killing it

Joe West is great just as good Quentin Lance. Hard to say which dad is better. I hope they get to meet in the crossover

I don't like when they race swap, but this guy is the best actor on the show by far for me

Likewise. They can both gripe about the foibles and faults of their city's respective superheroes. . . while being 'surprisingly' defensive about them at the same time, somehow.

First of all: heartwarmed!

I think the writers realized how big the pizza moment and are going to keep going back to that well. It's understandable. Jessie L. Martin is an incredible actor and he's almost single handedly grounding the show, underplaying stuff like this is just gosh-darned brilliant.

I wish the writers could find this kind of gold in all of Barry's relationships.

I've been re-watching some episodes and Joe is just brilliant.

That scene (in the ep. Plastique) with Barry explaining the ability to change his vocal chords and he suddenly bursts out laughing, it's so natural. The chemistry these two have on screen is definitely near the top of my fav things about this show.

When the show was first being announced, I was a little annoyed they were creating a new major character. But Joe is by far my favorite character now. I really feel like he's running on limited time :(

It's gone unmentioned,( but since the show is on hiatus and we've got nothing new to talk about,:woot:) I just wanted to bring up Joe's cool taste in music. The Cab Calloway poster,Iris mentioned his Duke Ellington album, etc. I'm a fan of "Big Band/Swing" myself, and it'd be cool to get to hear Joe enjoying some of the classics in his off time. :woot:
