Waid's Birthright, Kingdom Come, Flash & GL: The Brave and The Bold, and JLA Year One are fantastic, and his comments on MOS were spot on. That he liked the pilot means a lot to me. Count me on board! :D

I love Mark Waid's writing. But man can he be whiny. But it's cool that he's actually happy about something.

The WIT Analysis: The CW

The Flash, based on a DC Comics superhero character, is set to become the most-anticipated new show based on social-media interactions, The WIT says. It has about 257,000 Facebook likes as of May 23, second behind Gotham, and is number one in Facebook interactions (315,000). It also leads in Twitter activity, with about 26,000 followers and some 13,300 tweets on May 15 alone. Plus, the new show’s various teasers and trailers did a cumulative 5.8 million views and outperformed FOX’s Gotham and NBC’s Constantine in terms of engagement and positive comments.

Someone certainly fudged the **** out of those numbers. The trailers for Gotham and Constantine alone have over 7 million views each.

Well I think Quicksilver in X-Men DOFP alone proved that there is definitely an audience for The Flash and super speed. Time travel too, which is also relevant to The Flash. The studio CAN make it work and people will go to see it and love it if done right. The Quicksilver scene in DOFP tonight got the most reaction out of everyone in the theater, it made people smile and got a lot of positive reaction from people. Imagine what can be done with The Flash....

It's not bad at all, so long as you aren't uptight and set in your ways about your own ideas of how a character should be portrayed.

It's from Man of Steel, so it won't get any credit.

The action in MOS was great, particularly the end fight with Zod, which is my favorite in the film and one of the best in any superhero movie.

The cast for MOS is also great. It's the writing and editing that sucked ass.

Mark Waid's comments about it are very on point, as is much of what one Doug Walker has to say. I'm sure Roger Ebert would have echoed similar sentiments.

I see a woman slinging guys into other dudes at superspeed and jumping around...with some shakey/zoomy cam (though it's not as bad here as it is in other scenes). Not the same as Flash or Quicksilver's DOFP scene at all....not really much of a comparison.

Anyway the Faora speed stuff was cool (sans all the zoom in zoom out pointless bullcrap Snyder did that takes me out of the movie), but the scene with Quicksilver in DOFP is about superspeed specifically and it captures not only the awesome and fun nature of it (two things MOS also failed to deliver on with Superman, the greatest superhero of all time, and as a movie), but also from his point of view. That scene in DOFP is just the tip of the iceberg for what could be done with Flash. It calls to mind what superheroes were about in the first place, why they were created: wish fullfilment. Which is a hundred times better than watching a soulless pretentious melodrama disguised as a superhero movie, that scene alone is what superheroes are about, that's why people enjoyed it.

And judging by the reaction of the audience I saw the movie with tonight, they're hungry for all of the above. WB is sitting on a gold mine. If they could just figure out how to access it. Get rid of numbnuts like Goyer and even Snyder if he wants to be the poor man's Chris Nolan with his work instead of original. They need people who get the point and believe in the characters working on these projects.

I loved the MOS it was the Superman movie I always wanted. It didn't hold back and let Supes flex his muscle on the big screen unlike any other before it.

Despite whatever problems people had with MOS's story and tone, I think most people would agree that it was absolutely the best depiction of Kryptonian superpowers seen so far. From the flying and the superspeed to the heatvision and superstrength, Supe's powerset has never looked so good.

The Batlle of Smallville is my favorite action sequence in any comic book movie ever. The shaky cams and zoom in zoom out stuff, I love it.

The issue with that is the camera they used for the effect.

The issue with that is the guy behind the camera chose to do it that way, not the device itself.

The powers did look pretty good for the most part, although some of the CGI looked a bit videogamish at times. The constant moving the camera in and out and shaking it didn't help. That just reminded me of how fake and computerized it was.

I thought they used a special camera for those scenes that filmed incredibly slow and required massive amounts of light. That alone seems like it would handicap where you could achieve that specific effect.

It advertised itself as the "end all, be all" Superman movie but it was the most disappointed I'd been with a movie in a long while. :-/ It did not make me care about any of the characters or anything that happened in the movie, and it didn't care to. Never had so much action seemed so boring. It was like Quantum of Solace when it should have been Casino Royale. Not even the surface of what I wanted to see in a Superman movie, plus it carried over crap I was hoping they'd leave out like the ENDLESS "Superman is Jesus" stuff from the Donner film...man do I hate that bullcrap, it was a detractor when it was in the Reeve film. I wish they'd have chosen something good to have carried over from the Reeve films if they wanted to use something from them, of all things to choose from that was probably the worst thing to have picked. Which just shows again how much the writers missed the point and didn't get Superman with the movie.

Really hoping the next film fixes a lot of this stuff. Or just doesn't acknowledge it and gets on with a better movie .

The Jesus thing has always been there they just didn't run from it in the film. I cared for the characters as much as one can in a 2hr movie.

This is a great time for speedster lovers and addicts.

No it hasn't, it started with the Donner film and people haven't let it go since. You'd think the "reboot" would've done that. If Superman bears any biblical parallel it's to Moses, not Jesus. Even Moses' nemesis was a rich ruler with a shaved head.

Gets your facts straight dude he's a Jesus figure it didn't start with Donner's films. Google Jesus figure and next to the defintion will be a picture of Superman figuratively speaking.

My facts are straight, if there's any biblical parallel it's to Moses, Jesus and Superman are nothing alike. Superman was also created by jews and they don't believe or support much to do with Jesus, I'm pretty sure the last thing they'd want is for Superman to be comic book Jesus. The Jesus "parallel" for Superman has never made any sense. He wasn't sent here to "save" us, he was sent here to save himself. Big damn difference for one thing. Either you're unfamiliar with one of the stories or are just a MOS apologist. The Donner film is the thing that really went out of its way to cement the Superman = Jesus in pop culture though.
