The Director of THOR 3

I remember that guy from Green Lantern, he played Tom Kalmaku.

Interesting choice. What We Do in the Shadows was very clever. The Inbetweeners is a classic series front to back.

I haven't see Eagle vs Shark, must check it out along with Boy.

WHAAAAAAAAAAT? No clue who he is and I can't even find anything about him.

You must not be looking very hard

I would love Fleischer to get a MCU movie at some point, Zombieland was great and Gangster Squad was okay as well, he has a great visual eye for a CBM.

THR reporting it now.

great news! WWDITS was probably my favorite movie of 2014, well WWDITS and GOTG. but WWDITS was the more clever of those two

If I knew her phone number, I'd have you call my friend in Germany RH lol She'd want to know lol

Finally! Interesting choice, outside-the-box as usual. Haven't seen WWDITS, but heard great things and I've been pumped about what little we've seen from Moana, so I'm down for whatever this guy's take is. Funny that he was in GL, so he should know exactly what not to do with this movie. :cwink:

Hopefully the script is up to par. Direction is least of my worries.

Hopefully Marvel lets him do his thing and doesn't interfere too much like last time.

That's because they are comedic movies. :p
What about The Winter Soldier was comedic?

Also, interesting choice. Don't know what to expect. Hoping for a mix between LOTR and a Del Toro movie.

He must have had a heckuva pitch for Marvel to take a chance on him. Don't know much about him so can't really say it's a good or bad hire. Have to trust Marvel but there's so much potential in the Thor franchise that I hope it's not wasted by a bad director and/or bad script, which were both issues on TDW.

I was thinking about this, too. I hope that's the case, that he had a strong pitch, because I think that's what the last film was missing compared to what the Russo's did with Captain America. The Russos had such a strong vision for Cap, and I really want someone with a strong vision for Thor to come in. Hopefully they've found their man!

I totally agree with that, I really hope he has some awesome ideas for Thor 3 and also actually utilizes the Warriors 3, Sif, Heimdall and the other Asgardian characters that aren't Thor/Loki/Odin.

I actually did recognize Taika Waititi's name from FotC and from following news about Moana (which he wrote the script for), I haven't seen WWDITS or the other movies he directed but they're apparently great so I'll have to see them soon. Also, he was in Green Floptern? I didn't remember he was in that at all...well hopefully the Thor gig will work out much better XD

Also I hope he gets Bret from FotC to cameo as a random Asgardian named Tigwit :cwink:

They got themselves a director who isn't a White Man!

I'm so happy for Taika Waititi. What We Do in the Shadows is fantastic.

He must have a pretty good pitch for Feige to hire him. He'll probably tweak the script too.

It has a god character in it (voiced by The Rock). But he's a supporting character apparently.

Marvel excels at finding the right talent in the unlikeliest of places. I never expected Marvel to bring in a big name director here but this guy's track record is legit. I'm getting excited again!
