Guardians of the Galaxy The Easter Egg Thread (Guardians Edition)

there was some sony product placement in the film...

there was the walkman and the headphones, so.....

spiderman in mcu anyone? :awesome:

- when Quill said "12% of a plan" it reminded me of the Stark-Pepper 12% argument in Avengers

Drax blasting Nebula with the rocket launcher mid-sentence also reminded me of Coulson doing the same thing to Loki in "The Avengers".

Coulson is getting good at blasting people in mid-sentence. I hope he continues the trend.

Here's all the Easter Eggs I found in the collection scene.

1. Howard the Duck
2. Cosmo
3. The Tesseract
4. A Chitauri
5. A Dark Elf
6. Beta Ray Bill
7. Adam Warlocks Cocoon
8. A Celestial

That had to be Beta Ray bill. Maybe he escaped after the explosion and he'll show up in Thor 3!

3. The Tesseract

8. A Celestial

Do you mean The Aether? But is that really an Easter Egg given the fact that a movie's plot was based on it and we knew it was there and that it is a pretty important thing in the MCU.

If you are talking about the Celestial head that wasn't really an Easter Egg.

Supposedly there's a Slither slug in the Collector scene.

Can anyone confirm this please?

So, in a recent facebook post, Gunn posted a picture of himself and the "Exolon Monks" from the film. I'm going to post a link here, but I don't know if it will work.

Were these the guys in the Dark Aster?

I had to look the Exolon race up, but they're from the comics.

The Exolon were parasitic plasmoid entities that fed on the immortal souls of living beings. The Exolon resided in an area of space that was known as the Exoteric Latitude. A lost group of Kree explorers stumbled into this region of space and were attacked by the Exolon, which invaded their bodies and consumed their immortals souls. It was because of this bounding that these Kree became the Nameless. Once estranged from their souls, the host lost all sense of time and all sense of sentience.

Yes they were the ones performing a ritual or something on Ronin towards the beginning of the movie. The painted him, dressed him and through the yellow powder on him.

That's what I thought. Man I can't wait to go see this again!

I've seen it twice it really is a great movie. Saw it in IMAX 3d and in regular. Both showings were great but I honestly think everyone should enjoy the IMAX version at least once. Its a great experience, especially with a packed theater.

I didn't see Howard until the credits scene. He must have been on screen for a second.

When Drax said that Earth sounds like a nice place to visit.....

I think that meant that the Guardians will go to Earth later in the MCU.

Perhaps in Avengers 3, since Thanos is their enemy

no ? just me?

ok then :oldrazz:

He was above the Collector's head in a cage in one of the shots when the Guardians were meeting him. I heard Howard was in the movie beforehand, so I was looking everywhere for him in the collection. :woot:

Do you mean the Aether? Cause the Tesseract is on Asgard. And what's this about Beta Ray Bill? He was in one of the cases?

I think he meant the Tesseract when it was shown During The Collector's explanation of the Infinity Gems. As for Beta Ray Bill, I've heard a lot of reports of people seeing him. I must of missed it though.

My friend swore he heard somebody refer to somebody with the last name "Rider" while they were on Xandar. I definitely didn't hear it, can anybody confirm?

Wow, I didn't hear that. I didn't see BRB either. I'm kinda skeptical about Bill, but I won't rule it out until I can see it again (in slo-mo, with zoom and a magnifying glass).

Thinking back to the scene with the Collector, one thing that I kept seeing was giant flower or something. I don't think it's anything, but that seemed to be in the background the most when I was trying to catch some easter eggs.

There was some weird tentacled creature, here's hoping it was Shuma Gorath haha
