Just found out that Kevin Smith's Spider-Man/Black Cat story has been finished and can be picked up as a TPB. Remember reading the first few issues like 3 years ago. Was it worth the wait? Good ending?

Wasn't worth the wait, NOTHING is worth waiting for 3 years. I don't care what it is.

But I still enjoyed it as a whole. Thought KS took alot of risks with some of the themes he delt with and like I said, as a whole I really enjoyed the entire series.

minor spoiler, but u did ask: the ending involves lots of people remembering times they were raped. so im told. to be honest, somebody shud rape kevin smith, that jackass. (i neither endorse not would gain pleasure from such an act, and wholly distance myself from that comment as of.... now.) so, um..no.

No. Not worth it at all. If you could remove the word balloons and just looka t the Dodsons' artwork, then it may be worth it. Aside from that, no.

You're all looking at it the wrong way... Kevin Smith is a prophet... His message... Rape is bad... but it somehow can't get through Joe Q's thick skull (or gut) that Rape is bad and he should stop raping spider-man... then again, maybe babysitting Jason Mewes has gotten the best of him...

The Evil that Men Do is not worth waiting three years for. That point has been beaten to death by everyone on these forums for... oh, three years now. However, if you're looking for a fun Spidey story that's actually in character for everyone, check it out. It's fun and well written, the art's nice and best of all, you don't have to wait three years for it.

And those who advocate raping Kevin Smith may want to finish the third grade before trying to voice something so controversial, publicly. The word is "should." I know it looks weird because of the "l" and "o," but unfortunately the language isn't so malleable we can just pick and choose what letters to include in which words whenever we wish. While it may make you feel like a linguistic pioneer, it really just makes you look like an *******.

You really aren't helping your case, MPS. :o

so? i dont understand y such a serious turn in the story was needed. nothing like that had been hinted at before. as for the third grade comment: if u want to list qualifications, bring it on.

It depends on whether or not you're really that interested.

Most people here just hated it because they had to wait so long in between issue # 3 and issue # 4, which everybody has a right to be pissed about...there is no excuse for that, in my opinion. Any other comic book writer would have been fired after the first 6 months. But in this case, it was the name Kevin Smith that helped keep it alive. He still hasn't finished the Daredevil: Target miniseries.

I enjoyed the miniseries, it also helped that the first three issues I got because I snagged them out of this guys comic collection who moved out of my friends house.

The story, really the ending, would have had a lot more of an impact if this miniseries did come out on time. But it's an OK Spider-Man story, a little darker but a decent read if you're a big Kevin Smith fan.

it's different from any other Spider-Man story out there right now.

its arc actually kinda reminded me of the Kill Bill movies. the first 2-3 issues are "traditional Spider-Man" issues: some fighting, some joking, some sleuthing, everything you expect from a good Spider-Man story. but then the second half of the arc becomes more about character exploration, lots of talking, and lots of flashbacks.

the last couple of pages are pretty cool and hopefully won't be forgotten by current or future writers.

I picked it up in trade a few weeks ago. I'd never read the first 3 and knew little of it, apart from what I'd heard on here. So I had no bias, or anger at waiting 3 years, and I can say that I enjoyed it. Smith nails the chemistry between Cat and Spidey, it's nicely drawn, and the last few pages are a nice pay off that I agree should make an impact on continuity.

i wanna read this because i LOVE black cat... she's so lonely

First half was really good the second half less so, felt heavy handed and well a bit cliched. It felt like reading two different stories to me.

If you've been reading Sensational Spider-Man then you'd know that she's not really all that lonely anymore. :o
