The Evil Within: Some May Call It an Evil that is Resident

This is one of those games I love to hate. It was beyond maddening at times, but there was genuine satisfaction in overcoming it. Visually I thought it was nothing less than spectacular, though I admit the narrative left me more than a little confused at times. Does it "need" a sequel? Probably not. But some deep, dark, masochistic part of me would be curious about checking it out if we got one.
 
The problem the original had is it was just a bunch of random sequences thrown in a blender with an loose story to justify how messy the game was. It wasn't psychological horror, it was an excuse for bad game design.
 
I forgot all about this game, and I've wondered if I should play it. I saw some gameplay and overall was given a "meh" feel for it.
