The Evil Within: Some May Call It an Evil that is Resident

Just completed my second run-thru, farming for some more trophies on new game +. Man, that rocket launcher really works against you, doesn't it? You can't move around while you're armed with it, and with a clip capacity of only 1 that takes ten seconds to load up between shots, it caused more of my own deaths than anything else. I ended up killing Laura at the end of chapter 10 with fully upgraded incendiary bolts instead. Just a tip for those who haven't tried it yet.

Also, apparently the Kidman DLC story expansion is out, but most comments I've seen are pretty so-so.

I lent my copy of the main game to a friend, so I haven't got the DLC yet. I have Revelations 2 and White Night I'm playing, and getting Codename: STEAM tomorrow, so I may just wait until the second part is out before I download it.

same here, I won't try the dlc anytime soon, I'm playing dying light and yakuza 4 lately.

They put a patch out on consoles that removes the letterboxing. I guess I'm going to play this game now.

If they ever release a complete edition then I might pick it up again but since my 360 bit the dust (or close enough to) I'm not really interested in getting this for PS3.

I didn't even notice the letterboxing, but cool for those who were bothered by it.

I'm surprised the letterboxing bothered people that much. I honestly would have never even noticed it if everyone else weren't complaining about it. But, whatever, good for them, I guess, lol.

I noticed it occasionally but usually it didn't bother me.

How could you guys not notice them? They literally take up like a third of the screen.

I don't know, it's like watching films in widescreen on older TVs, I suppose. Once you get used to it, and get into the movie, the letterboxing just sort of bleeds into the experience and you don't even think about it.

Rage came out almost 5 years ago. If they wanted a sequel, wouldn't they have done one by now?

well remember atthe time when it was being made both it and border lands looked alot alike and after the latter changed it's Aesthetics, it beat Rage in sales

and who knows maybe they have other ip's they've been focusing of more demand wise from gamer fans, who want to see those more, from fall out to dishonored with the new prey on it's.

he's just answering people that were asking him about it during that event.

evil with in was expected. but people aren't sure about rage and how it did performance wise to warrant a sequel

But they aren't making one so...maybe not quite well enough?

hmm as I said there may be a priority thing with other game's that maybe be in demand more (cause fan's want to see those more) like dishonored , prey & fall out before them. His boss's want those out of the way first and for most before they give the green light to ether the evil with in or Rage ,the latter of which no knows how well it did performence wise til his spoke.

"it' s more of a yet thing ", if hes talking like that. They are most likely waiting to hear from his boss's that he has the green light to do so.

Again reporters caught him on the show floor & one of them most likely asked if any of the ip's he's over seen will see sequal's and he answered.

The only reason we're only seeing his answer and not the question asked is most likely due to it not being question asked from pcgamerN's and the person that make the article doesn't care to repeat word for word what another reporter may have asked.

so it may come off as weirdly random.

A leaked internal job listing suggests that a sequel to Tango Gameworks’ The Evil Within is in development.
NeoGAF user “Dusk Golem” posted a Japanese job listing for a QA and translator on Psycho Break 2, which is the Japanese title of The Evil Within. The description lists Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as the platforms for the sequel. Of course, all of this should be taken as rumor for now, as a sequel has not been confirmed by either Bethesda or Tango Gameworks.
Last year, Bethesda VP of PR and marketing Pete Hines said that both The Evil Within and Rage sold well enough to warrant sequels.
“I can’t talk about the unannounced stuff and what we may or may not do,” he said at the time. “So I won’t confirm or deny stuff we may or may not do, as people jump to the wrong conclusions. But I do think both The Evil Within and Rage did well enough that we could make sequels.”
The Evil Within originally launched in 2014 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

I have really mixed feelings about a sequel. I liked the game enough to finish it, but I hope the next one isn't so disjointed.

I think there's a lot of room for improvement in a sequel but I think I'd buy a copy. The original was an interesting idea but overall it was lacking in a few ways.

If more of the game is like the village from the early part of TEW, I'd give it a look.

I remember when I first got this game it took awhile to beat because I always kept on dieing
