The Expanse

Yeah, I can't wait to finally see the Razorback, and especially [BLACKOUT]Bobbi's rematch with the monster[/BLACKOUT]. Plus it'd be nice to see Bobbi unlock those memories of her team getting wiped out on Ganymede, especially since in the book she remembers just fine, and her arc is more about moving past that trauma and finding purpose again rather than unpacking a Martian conspiracy. That being said, I enjoyed both versions.

I finally caught up with the season and it was a really good season.

A lot of fans are speculating Capt. Ashford, since we've already met all the majors in Caliban's War, so it'll be on to Abbadon's Gate.

I'm really looking forward to how they bring that story to the screen, especially since about 3/4 of the action is in low gravity. Plus, I'd love it if they got Pom Klementieff to play "Melba." Her taekwando black belt would come in handy.

The Expanse casts Lost star Elizabeth Mitchell in key role

The Expanse is expanding.

During the show’s Comic-Con panel (moderated by this writer) in San Diego, it was announced that former Lost, V, and Once Upon a Time star Elizabeth Mitchell would be joining the cast in a recurring role for season 3.

Mitchell — an Emmy nominee for her work as Dr. Juliet Burke on ABC’s mysterious island drama — will be playing a character that, according to the network, “brings a new, spiritual perspective to the series.”

Judging by that description, it’s possible Mitchell could be playing Anna Volovodov, a Methodist pastor who is first introduced in the third novel in The Expanse book series, Abaddon’s Gate. In the books, Volovodov is sent out on the Thomas Prince to help explore the Ring, but trouble breaks out on the ship when it reaches the Slow Zone, with Anna at the center of the action. But it is also entirely possible that Mitchell could be playing a character unique to the television adaptation since the show has sprinkled in entirely new people as well.

Like I really need more s*** to binge, Syfy! :argh:

Damn Sawyer, you're not on this train yet? SHAME.

Sometimes I do other things than just watch TV. :o

No, I don't

Netflix finally got season 2 over here and I finished it in a matter of days. Bring on season 3 will ya!

Re-reading (well, listening to, sooooooo good) Abbadon's Gate again. Every chapter, I'm all "Nope, still in null-G. Good luck filming dis sh** TV show!"

Have they cast Sam yet? I was re-reading Abbadon's Gate and it occurred to me that they could totally use Drummer in her place, since she's already been established and even gotten to know the Roci crew.

I've been waiting for this for too damn long! Glad its (practically) back. :D

Excellent premiere. The part where Bobbi fell down the side of the ship had me terrified. It was as though it were happening to me.

I just love the Bobbie/Chrisjen/Cotyar team so much.

Loved the premier, glad Drummer seems to be getting a slightly larger role this season.

'The Expanse' is a hit sci-fi TV show that critics say is the best since 'Battlestar Galactica'

SyFy's "The Expanse" is one of the best sci-fi shows on TV.
It just premiered its third season and critics love it.
The show is set 200 years in the future, when the entire Solar System has been colonized, and it's on the brink of war.

Three seasons in, SyFy's "The Expanse" is finally getting the recognition it deserves as one of the best sci-fi shows on TV. And thankfully, you can catch up with the first two seasons on Amazon Prime.

The show, based on the series of novels by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (pen name James S. A. Corey), is set 200 years in the future when humanity has colonized the Solar System. But the Solar System is divided and on the brink of war. It deals with the rocky relationship between Earth, Mars, and the Outer Planets Alliance (OPA). The OPA fights for the interests of inhabitants of the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter. The series stars Thomas Jane, Steven Strait and Shohreh Aghdashloo.

The show was created by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, whose writing credits include Alfonso Cuarón's "Children of Men" (2006) and "Iron Man" (2006).

Sounds cool, right? But the show has mostly lived under the radar until now. It premiered on demand in November 2015, and made its live debut in December 2015 on SyFy. The first season received mostly good reviews from critics with a 76% Rotten Tomatoes score, but it didn't generate much buzz. However, the second season has a 95% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was when the show started to pick up steam. The third season premiered on Wednesday night to glowing reviews from critics.

I don't think The Expanse is really a hit but I enjoy hearing it described as such.
