The Expanse

Just started listening to Book 4 (Cibola Burn)

So if the deal goes through, does that mean they can leave the sets up?

I bought the first 2 books on my tablet. Gonna start reading once my final exams are over on the 5th.

I can't wait for season 4

It'll be interesting the next few episodes now that we're between books again. Last season they were kind of tiptoeing into Caliban's War between "Paradigm Shift" and "Cascade" where things really get going with Prax.

My guess is the next episode will end with book 2's cliffhanger ([blackout]Miller[/blackout]), but with almost a year passing in story before book 3's opening, plus David Strathairn's mystery man, I'm curious how they're gonna stretch things out. I'm always down for more Drummer, I'll say that much.

I really hate the way this show puts the climax of the books randomly in the first half of the seasons. How hard is it to adapt so that the climax of the books happen at the end of a season?

The first season was 10 episodes, the other two have come in at 13. The producers have said that if season 1 had 13, they would've done all of Leviathan Wakes there. And you can see how easily they could've shifted around the padding to turn those 15 episodes into 13. In the case of the show, it's made it easier for each season to end on a cliffhanger.

Makes me wonder if they can come back around and put the finale for one of the books at the end of the season for a change.

Music to my ears. Thank God for Amazon. Screw Syfy.

lol,I might have jumped the gun with that, Alcon and Amazon are deep in negotiations for Amazon to acquire the Expanse, but it sounds like all signs are pointing to Amazon picking it up

Still, they're in negotiations, which is more than many other shows get once they've been cancelled. If there are talks, then there's a strong possibility they'll pull through and the show will continue.

True.

wow tonights episode really felt like the start of a new season.

It did. Great to see [blackout]Miller[/blackout] again!

Yeah I accidentally spoiled that for the myself when I saw his name show up in the credits during a sneak peak last week.

I must admit, I thought I'd missed an episode or two here, but then (I actually had to look it up) I realised they'd just jumped ahead a little. Hopefully we'll get some flashbacks detailing what happened between then and now.

Found the interactions between the crew (new and old) interesting, as did I find the belter perspective refreshing, though Naomi has suddenly changed her accent? She can't have been gone that long!! What's the deal with the camera guy too? He blind or something? Seemed as though he was feeling his way around more than actually looking around.

Gotta love Amos too, he's come a long way.

That guy going through the Ring...:wow::lmao:
Haha, I loved that scene, full on gore.

I wish they could have introduced Bull into the series.

Could anyone catch what Miller was saying ?

You just lose yourself, piece at a time.
There's no laws on Ceres, just cops.

No pb. I would not have caught the first sentence if it was not for subtitles.

That episode was just great.

The whole subplot with the racer was darkly hilarious, and the pirate crew second mate to Drummer has major charisma. I'm liking the relationship between Drummer and Naomi, too, just as I did last season.

I have absolutely no idea what Melba's up to. This ought to be interesting.

ETA: [BLACKOUT]Miller's reappearance[/BLACKOUT] was puzzling. I assume Holden's not crazy and the protomolecule is somehow causing this.

I don't know what it says about me, but that scene with the racer guy going through the ring is one of the few times I've laughed out loud at this show.

Question for those that have read Abaddon's Gate
[BLACKOUT]
I just finished it a while back , and I get the sense the tv series is mixing Bull's and Drummer's characters together ?[/BLACKOUT]

I'm dreading this Melba BS. I expect I'm going to be very frustrated and annoyed for the rest of the season.
