The Expendables 2 - Part 2

Liam Hemsworth is there to bring in at least a few chicks at the box office. C'mon guys it is still a business. Give the studio a pass. It probably wasn't even Stallone's call, even if he had some sway in casting him. He was probably required to throw a pretty boy in there somewhere. You need to feature some young talent otherwise you miss the point of introducing these types of old school action flicks to the next generation. Not that it will ever be taken to the level that these guys took it back in the day.

I never thought I would see a day where Van Damme wasn't considered the good looking one

Not sure if a fan photoshopped the words in but it's still awesome.

Is that actually the F-word or does it say Thank you?

You know it says thank you. :oldrazz:

I got to admit, I laughed when I first saw it. Most likely fake, though.

Some spoiler free facts from that podcast review (keep in mind, this gentleman loved the first movie, and it was his favorite theater movie in 2010):

-Claims the body count is "easily triple" that of the first film

-The reviewer did not mind the digital blood in the first, however the digital blood is "way worse" in this one

-The beginning and end action scenes are the best in the movie, with the opening being the highpoint

-Chuck Norris is the best addition to the cast, with his character playing off of the Chuck Norris Facts

-JCVD is not given enough to do. "He isn't in it a lot." "Not given a lot to work with."

-Dolph Lungren was his favorite member of the Expendables in the sequel, maintaining his crazy personality though more reigned in

-Not as gritty as the first film (Gritty, what?), way more cartoonish ("This is a ****ing cartoon."). Says every line felt like a one liner.

-Had a great time watching it, was rarely bored. Left him hollow afterwards, wanting more of the impact from the first movie.

-Felt like it was under or right around 90 minutes

-It felt PG-13 to him even with the massive amounts of CGI blood

Overall that sounds like some good feedback. I'm looking forward to those action sequences.

Also, I think I'm probably the only one that didn't mind the digital blood in the first one and don't think I will in the sequel. Not that I prefer that, just didn't mind as much as most.

Digital blood is basically upgrading from squibs and blood packs. It's all food coloring and corn starch. But with CG.

I never thought I would see a day where Van Damme wasn't considered the good looking one

He still has the accent though... "Six pounds of pure (whatever element) is enough to change the balance of the world"

Probably the most badass accent I have ever heard.

What can i say - the amount of partying van dammes done over the years has taken its toll. Hes still awesome though.

Yes.

:wow:

Can somebody please edit out the text if possible?

One of you shall betray me. And it's the steroided-out freakshow.

Is Adkins seriously doing the old "Hey look over there!" trick to Jet Li and then bopping him while he's not looking in that Last Supper poster? Please let that scene be in the film.

Arrow in the Head podcast review. Minor spoilers.

I couldn't help but listen to the entire review. I think I'll enjoy it more than they did.

I watched Red Scorpion today. It's a shame Dolph wasn't as popular. He was awesome in this type of role. Also I thought he was one of the highlights of The Expendables. I haven't seen Punisher or Masters of the Universe in years. I might have to catch up on those and some of his dtv work.

When I saw the Dark Knight Rises in Imax the trailer was attached to it and it sounded and looked great, it's the way this movie should been seen. Can't wait!
