Adkins needs the exposure, he's one of the better action stars to come along in years. Though I do prefer direct to DVD action films to big budget ones.
Less studio meddling means more controle by the creative typles. Ever notice how much more violent DTDVD action movies are for the most part? Or the fact that major studios don't support "fight" movies anymore. DTDVD seems to be the home of good old martial arts movies and balls out action.
I'd be interested in some suggestions if someone was to start a 'DTDVD Action Thread'

Is that Jet Li with long hair? ... ok I keed I keeeeeed.
Exactly. No shaky cam, epic martial arts and action sequences, no CGI, actual action stars kicking ass as opposed to pretty boys. People are quick to write off JCVD and Dolph Lundgren as actors, but they've done some amazing stuff in their DTV films.
I'm sorry but Direct to Video anything is terrible. There's a reason it's going direct and that has nothing to do with budget size.
I laughed much too hard at that.Yu Li her alone.

I'm not going to say that ALL direct-to-DVD movies are bad, because sometimes films simply don't have the budget or the support to get a wide theatrical release. Still though, half the time I'm at a redbox, there are about 20 movies I've never even heard of, and they ALL look terrible. And about 60 percent of them star Val Kilmer.
