The Expendables 3

I think overkill is kind of the point. Embrace the ridiculous!

I just don't want this to turn into a comedy...

I know Sly came out and said he wants 3 to be a little more on the comedic side but let's not turn this into something that crosses the line of full blown parody.

I'd still want to be able to take these characters and the story somewhat seriously...

Yeah, you are right. I say keep some comedy and some corny one-liners in there, but the over the top ridiculousness should be rooted in the violence (like basically all of the most recent Rambo or the "warning shot" scene from the first Expendables).

Bruce Willis: 'I'm bored of making action movies'

Bruce Willis has reportedly admitted that he is "bored" of shooting action films, despite enjoying the money they bring.
In an interview with the Spanish magazine XLS, the 58-year-old was asked for his opinion on action movies and allegedly replied: "Explosions are one of the most boring parts of my job. When you have seen a few fireballs, it's not exciting anymore. I know part of my audience enjoys the explosions, but to be honest, I’m a bit bored of it now.
"I am very clear with who I am. I work in all sorts of films, but the action movies are the ones that generate the most revenue. I like to earn lots of money from those, but I do all types: small productions, megaprojects, medium sized, even science fiction."
Willis did however add that he was not "someone who spends the whole day counting bank notes", nor did he "dance for joy" when he received payment for his films.
The star of the Die Hard trilogy, who is currently promoting his latest film RED 2, has been involved in a number of awkward interviews this year. He appeared distracted when chatting to Matt Baker and Alex Jones on BBC's The One Show in February to promote A Good Day to Die Hard, but later apologised, citing jetlag as the reason for his "stale" responses: "I didn't get very many compliments about it. They said it was a little stale. But I was so jetlagged."
Bruce Willis on Die Hard: "I think we set a new record for smashing cars" 19 Feb 2013
Later, in an interview for Magic FM, he told presenter Jamie Edwards: "This part [promoting the film] is not acting, what we're doing right now. You might be [acting] but we're just selling the film now. The fun part was making the movie."
Willis was also criticised recently by Sylvester Stallone, who described him as "greedy and lazy" on Twitter. The pair starred together in the first two Expendables films but Willis will not feature in the third film, due out in August 2014.
RED 2 was met with a lukewarm critical reception on its release earlier this month. The Telegraph's Tim Robey described it as "crashingly short on pace or urgency".

Oh Bruce, can't give the fans what they want? These movies made your career.

I liked EX1, and I really liked EX2. The action is pretty fantastic, but that's kinda it. The acting is decent, but the stories aren't that great. I look forward to EX3.

He's made a living doing it and now he's bored of it. I don't blame him for that. I'd get bored of it too after nearly 3 decades but that's not the same thing as accepting his attitude on the set.

If he doesn't want to do them anymore, that's his choice but he shouldn't keep doing them while he's yawning either.

If he's tired of making action movies, I don't blame him, and I also don't blame him for churning them out for the big paychecks, because honestly, if you could get paid millions just for showing up in some stupid action flick, why wouldn't you?

But he should either be professional and not blatantly sleepwalk through every role, or just do something else.

That's his way to defend his reputation against "Lazy and greedy"? He's late
At least he gives his view why we won't see him

I think you're 3 movies too late.:hehe:

Well, Milla dropping out is the best thing I've heard about E3 so far. Now, if some sniper can take Lutz out... Good riddance with Bruce, he clearly hated being there in E2, exciting though it was to see him alongside Arnie and Sly in action. But since we got that, yeah, bye bye. And if you can refrain from making movies in general till you get your head straight, I'd appreciate it.

Bruce Willis has always been an inspiration to me. In the 90s I was always getting in trouble for mouthing off. Nowadays I'm getting in trouble for being a bored troll at work.

I didn't know Sly had called out Bruce like that! :wow:

I was surprised too. I saw the first part of the tweet where he said Ford was in and Willis out. The next day I saw the rest.

They should keep the Willis character, but say that he's asleep somewhere off screen. Or just get some baldy curled on a couch in the background.

I don't exactly agree with Sly calling out Bruce but hey he has a right to speak his mind and as long as they've been friends it was very pigheaded to turn away from EX3 over money.

Good riddance to Bruce. It was cool to see Bruce, Arnold and Sly together in a movie, but I won't miss Bruce in this one ... especially with some of the others that are being brought in.

At least he made the last 20 minutes of Ex2 work perfectly for me, better than Arnie using a Ford catchphrase
I don't know if he has any

I want Willis to do 2 more action movies. 1) A final Die Hard film that ends the series and that is actually good 2) I want him as Orson Randall in a potential Iron Fist movie.

Willis is actually one of my favorite actors of all time. Im fine with him not doing action films anymore.

Since we're unlikely to get "you Wookiee sack of ****" in Star Wars 7, might as well find a way to work it into Expendables 3!

Not really a Ford line, but "I've got a bad feeling about this" would be easy enough to work in and should be pretty recognizable to the GA.

Laugh it up fuzzball is something I guess can be thrown in
