If they do ever make The Expendables 4, they should definitely make it R-Rated that's for sure because their mistake on Expendables 3 was making it PG-13 which is what ultimately did the movie in even though it had a great plot and great character depth by making it more into a comedy and less action yet again another mistake

But for the 4th one here is hoping they make it R-Rated

But as for the villain, who do you think should play the villain? I would go with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the villain if anything just so I could see him and Stallone go at it because I believe they would have a great fight scene probably way better than Stallone/Gibson or Stallone/Van Damme

If they could get Bruce Willis back for the 4th movie then I say great

OP, there is more of a chance of you headlining a blockbuster next year than a fourth Expendables film happening anytime soon.

Hell if they could get Dave Bautista for Expendables 4 then that would be even better

Expendable 3 is proof enough that these movied need to stop! The novelity has worn off now and Stallone needs to just accept that his days as a major action star are over.

Fast 5 gets 'it'. John Wick gets 'it'. They has more an 80's spirit than any of the Expendable movies!

Not another one. lol. Although I didn't mind the latest one. I enjoyed seeing Mel Gibson in the villain role.

This times infinity

I'd be down for another sequel if they gave us more action stars fighting each other instead of seeing twenty of them simultaneously killing random extras. It was fun to extent , but that last film was an overcrowded mess.

Stallone has said that he's making the 4th one R-rated again, I believe.

It's inevitable that any future installment needs to see all-out war between Team Ross and Team Mauser.

IF they do this, they need to have a group of villains, not just one. Hell, have Arnold go bad and lead the likes of Vin Diesel, Mark Wahlberg, Denzel Washington or the Rock.

Not just the violence, but the dialogue needs to toughen up too. Antonio Banderas was such a cartoon character in 3.

Doubt those 3 would sign on for this especially Wahlberg or Denzel.

But if they were to get any of those 4 then I'd be interested.

But right now the franchise is a joke and not a good one. Let it die Stallone. Your days as a movie star are done

I have a better time believing in a fourth Matrix movie honestly.

I always wondered why they didn't have a group of aging actors being villains. Instead of having 274865676 people as Expendables for the last film, all they had to do is make the non-original members a part of Mel Gibson's team.

Why are we not Hollywood screenwriters?

They sort of teased that in the first film. Maybe Willis can come back as the villain.

Doubt it. He was offered a million for four days work and turned it down.

Probably because the director disrespected him by asking him to say his lines at the normal volume of a human voice instead of whisper-mumbling his speech like he's answering the phone at 3 am.

I would like them to do a 4th just to try and end on a stronger note than the 3rd movie, and it HAS to be R-rated.

Get Nicolas Cage to play the bad guy with Dave Bautista as his main henchman and we are onto something.

Fourth one will happen. You can thank China for that.

My idea is to strip down the team to just Statham, Lundgren and Snipes, slash the budget down to $40 million or so.

Have them transport a black bagged prisoner to a secret CIA facility, to hand him over to an elite CIA platoon that's spearheaded by Dave Bautista and Gina Carano, at the behest of Harrison Ford. The noob team is around guarding the perimeter.

During the exchange Bautista removes the prisoner's hood, revealing Bruce Willis. His platoon open fire and overtake the facility, trapping Stath, Lundgren and Snipes in Die Hard style.

Harrison Ford is the Al Powell equivalent, talking the guys through the situation. Midway the twist is that the noob team is under Willis' employ, so Ford is stuck dealing with them and the Expendables lose their only help from the outside.

So you have a nice tight three on three dynamic. You have a tried and tested 80's style Die Hard On A ______ plot, but this time with the guy who invented it as the hijacker, which they can play with, you have that 'Jason Bourne Control Room' trope being eliminated half way through the film. Basically just playing with and commenting on a lot of action conventions.

They do need to cut back on the team. Have some of them go out in a blaze of glory.

I'd save that for the fifth one. Expendables in the jungles of South East Asia taking on the security force of drug traffickers led by Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais.

All they need is Hulk Hogan and Mr. T. Is that so hard to ask?
