I'm gonna pass, if only because I'm tired of...
A. Nuclear family superhero teams. You never see family teams featuring a single mom and 2 kids, or a group of cousins.
Actually, this isn't just about the four family members we've unveiled so far and, in fact, there's a grandfather, aunt (who's a single mom), and cousins in the mix.
B. Earth/Fire/Wind/Water elemental teams. Why doesn't someone try a different elemental grouping? Chinese (Earth/Fire/Wood/Metal)? The Japanese 5th element of void/heaven? The 36 Shaivite-Hindu tattvas?[/quote]
If you read the article, you'll see mention of the Wu Xing Clan of China. We actually get into the Asian concepts of the elements a bit, including the Void, and also experiment with combining powers.
As for the "point" of setting a superhero book outside of the DCU, well, one of the joys of a creator-owned project is that you get to choose whether or not you want your characters meeting up with Superman or having some other writer ten years from now have an evil clone of Superman kill your character
I hope you'll all at least flip through the book on the stands when it comes out...
