It's the new Tango & Cash.

anyone else get the feeling that this thing doesn't really need Jason Statham? Seems to be rather secondary to the Rock.

It's supposed to be a buddy picture, the Shaw family plays a pretty huge part in it basically. And apparently Rock has a thing for his sister so I'm sure that adds to conflict.

This looks ****ing stupid. Like really, really dumb. They may have taken this thing too far.

I love it. I'm there opening weekend.

Agree. As far as I'm concerned they can put the facial recognition scene on a loop.

Deadline says the opening weekend early tracking is now at 55-65. I personally consider that to be alarmingly low.

What's the budget for this movie?

I do wonder just how bankable the Rock truly is. I know Jumanji was a hit, but that already had a cult following. The F&F movies always do well but that brand was established before he was even on board. And Baywatch and Rampage both underperformed, didn't they?

I haven't paid for a F&F movie since the second one, but damn it I'm sold. I'll be in the theaters for this. :funny:

That Jumanji rebootquel being a hit because of a cult following is the most absurd assessment I've seen for its success especially with how far removed from that original movie and show it is. Folks say F&F is the one with the cult following that truly broke out once the Rock wanted to hulk smash Vin Diesel. Rampage exceeded expectations for not just the kind of game it's adapting, but also for other giant monster movies...and funny enough Statham's giant monster flick exceeded that.

Jumanji was still a recognizable name and a lot of people love the original film. If no one care about it, then they wouldn't have done a reboot/sequel of the series. Now, how much of that played into the movie's box office, I don't know. But there was definitely an audience there. I'm not saying the Rock and the other actors don't deserve a lot of credit (and I thought the movie was a blast so major props to all of them) but I don't think it's fair to say that love for the original had absolutely nothing to do with it being a hit.
