I agree that both are bad Darph, I just find the first film better than it's sequel.
I think they are both rather bad. Both are super generic, disposable, poorly made and lacking in anything truly memorable. The first almost gets a retrospective pass because of how bad the second is, but considering Batman Begins came out in 2005 and X2 in 2003, there is no excuse for how poor either is imo.
Let's keep my Crazy identity an informal titleWill you be changing your username to Crazy?![]()
I always thought Ioan Gruffud as Mr. Fantastic was... uh... fantastic casting.
Darph is an actual thing, and looks like this apparently:I agree that both are bad Darph, I just find the first film better than it's sequel.
Now The Incredibles, that was a movie I loved.
I don't think it was the casting as much as the scripts regarding Alba. Sue was always nagging, annoying, and getting into situations where she would turn visible while nakedI actually had no problem with any of the casting at all in Story's films with the exception of Alba. When news first broke of the casting, I was content.........except with Alba. I actually think Story really wanted to give the fans what they wanted but as is becoming more and more evident is that Fox seems to be the ones who intrude way to much(with the exception of Singer)instead of letting the directer have his way.
Its the best superhero film imo. Which makes the lack of an even good FF film even more egregious.Fair enough. Still, I haven't watched the Incredibles from beggining to end (I think I watched most of it, in segments), and while the quality is undeniably superior, it didn't strike as genious, nor even close. Again: Crazy.
I had the biggest crush on Alba back in the day, but she was never a good actress and didn't fit the role at all.I don't think it was the casting as much as the scripts regarding Alba. Sue was always nagging, annoying, and getting into situations where she would turn visible while naked![]()
When that guy called you Darph I thought it was so damn funny.Darph is an actual thing, and looks like this apparently:

I won't defend Alba, but her acting skills are not what hurt her version of Sue. With a decent character in the script, and a good director, any mediocre actress could have performed a decent Sue. It doesn't take Meryl Streep to pull this off.I had the biggest crush on Alba back in the day, but she was never a good actress and didn't fit the role at all.
I am glad you found happiness in my misery. When that guy called you Darph I thought it was so damn funny.![]()
Only good thing I like from this movie is the fact that it comes with new music from El-P
This is the kind of reasoning that gives us these bad superhero flicks imo. Would Han Solo have been Han Solo if they got a mediocre actor? How about Iron Man now?I won't defend Alba, but her acting skills are not what hurt her version of Sue. Kate Mara can be great sometimes, but I'm not looking forward to her performance in FF
Listening to the end credits music now and...meh?
That's all I got. Meh. It's kinda silly. And not good.
Link?

EDIT: the quality is poor because someone ripped it from a stream but it's still not bad
Boom

Of course someone better could have been an iconic Sue. My point was that even with Alba or someone else, the movie and/or character could have been more than good, or at least not be regarded as one of the worst casting decisions in comic book moviesThis is the kind of reasoning that gives us these bad superhero flicks imo. Yeap, her looks didn't look natural at all, it was seriously distracting.Alba can't act and I also think it was the freakin blonde wig/bad dye job to her hair as well as obvious blue contacts that turned people off. There were better actresses who were naturally blond and blue eyed they could have gotten.
