The Amazing Spider-Man The Final candiates for Peter Parker in Sony's shortlist

I KNEW it all along. Sony are liars! Hope Lerman gets it!!

I haven't seen anything from Logan that proves he's a good actor.

The deep voice might take some getting use to, but I saw Peter as more of a general loser in the Ultimate version with nerd speak on top.

I'm so sick of this "Peter is the ultimate nerd" thing. Stan only had him as a nerd until he was bitten by the spider. After that his confidence level went way up and he started to come out of his shell. That's why all the girls started to notice him and such. We got the uber nerd in Raimi's films. Ultimate Spider-Man isn't a nerd. Let's move on.

this shouldnt JUST be Ultimate Spidey though, elements of all the different versions of Spidey should be used

Haven't seen Lerman in enough films to properly judge his acting but he has a face that makes me want to punch it.

I find Yelchin to be the most likeable, which would be a big factor for me.

I really don't think I would be happy if Lerman was Peter.

I'm not for Lerman as Peter Parker/Spider-Man either, BUT, I will say that Lerman is a great actor, imo.

If you don't believe me, watch a short-lived show called Jack & Bobby. It was an amazing series, and it baffles to me to this day on why the WB never renewed it for a second season.

was Tobey Maguire really that well known to people before he was cast?

Sort of. He was mostly known as Leonardo DiCaprio's best friend.

Way more people know who Anton is than Lerman.

I can assure you that most people in the general public have no idea who Anton is...even though they've seen him in two blockbusters. Logan Lerman, on the other hand, is Percy Jackson. The movie wasn't successful, but it's not like people ignored the ads. And the movie was only released 5 months ago and it's out on DVD this Tuesday so there will be more ads.

the truth is if the final candiates are all screen testing then the best guy will win out. if I were screen testing they gave me a script with peter parker dialouge I would ask them (sony) if I could ad lib spidey and show them that I could nail both aspects of spidey and peter parker, because let's face it, spidey in the orignal trilogy doesn't have a personality

Lerman looks like a emo younger Maguire IMO.

Its uncanny,lol.

At least Yelchin looks like Ultimate Spider-Man and has the personality to go with it.:woot:

Its always been one of the reasons I dont want Lerman as Spider-Man. He looks like a cross between Tobey and Jake Gyllenhaal...Brothers. :hehe:

You seem to be determined to change everyone's mind. But it won't work bro. IMO Logan looks like Peter. And Anton looks like harry. You talk about Charlie Bartlett and in the clips ive watched I couldn't help but think Harry in the "rich kid" scenes. As much as I try I can't see Anton as Peter.

Who knows, maybe im just stupid:awesome:

Change everyones mind, me?:hehe:

Im just pointing out that Lerman looks like Maguire which he does, and I can't get around it.

Yelchin suits both Peter and Harry,in every aspect. I just cant understand why SOME people see Harry more so? Yelchin is everything Peter Parker should be and almost everybody can see that. Almost every writer of articles is rooting more for Anton than anybody else, and wheres all the hype on sites that Logan is in the running?

Bottom line, may the best candidate win...Which I'm hoping is Anton, cause my campaign will have gone down the crapper if not.:oldrazz:

The eyes and the nose make a world of difference. Except for the basic shape of the face, I don't see a lot of similarities. And if anything, Lerman looks like a younger non emo version of Maquire.

The GA may know about Lerman, but it's not like he name carries positive connotations. Most people would say, 'Oh, that kid from that Harry Potter knockoff.' If anything, the suggestion that nobody knows who Yelchin is despite his high profile resume is an advantage. People will see him as Spider-Man, not a previous character.

Logan Lerman for Peter Parker.

Anton Yelchin for Harry Osborn.

Done and done.

Still don't believe this little piece of news, sounds kinda re-hashed to me. We'll see.
:word:
[BLACKOUT]
And the last 2 sentences need some other kind of response, so I'll just say "[/BLACKOUT]Agreed.[BLACKOUT]"[/BLACKOUT]
