Logan Lerman for the win!

I started the Lerman movement on SHH when the reboot was announced and he seems to have gotten the most forum votes

I'd rather Yelchin stay as Chekov in Star Trek. I don't want him playing another big name character in another big name franchaise.

i finally watched charlie bartlett...yelchin is a great actor...good movie...but i still see him as harry more...not just from the looks but i believe he could access his darker side very well if he were ever to turn into a goblin...
i know people are pushing for him but some people just arent gonna agree with him as parker (such as me) of course i wouldnt hate him being cast cause i know he could do it...lerman showed some great acting skills in 3:10 to yuma and looks more like parker from ultimate spider-man...(frank dillane looks the most like ultimate parker out of the group)
i still believe aaron johnson is best suited for parker...he played a role just like him perfectly in kickass...and some say there is a dilhemma with him playing both roles...i dont see it cause as i recall...sadly my favorite movie of the year didnt do the best in the BO therefore rendering it just another film and not a franchise (the odds of a sequel are 50/50)
but thats just my opinion...i like yelchin but if i were casting id put him as harry...IMO

Everybody has their opinions. Some people see things one way,some another.

Anton has a great appeal,naturally funny,nerdy,charismatic,strong. He could pull off Peter or Harry,but I always see Peter in him as his performance in CB,its more or a Peter Parker character,and I dont fear it if he was cast.

To be honest, I havent seen much stuff with Logan to judge him. I''l have to watch PJ.

Anton has Star Trek, Johnson has Kick-Ass, Lerman needs to get Spider-Man.

Anton? You mean the dude from Star Trek and Terminator: Salvation? Yeah, he's such a great actor that he appeared in two big franchises and, yet, most people still have no idea who he is.

Let's face it, this is between Logan Lerman and Aaron Johnson. Both are real celebrities and have already starred in high-profile movies. It's true that neither Percy Jackson or Kick-Ass performed well at the box office, but both got a lot of press attention. Especially Kick-Ass with its controversy involving Hit Girl. Plus, both actors held their own and proved that they could be leading men.

Anton, by comparison, was a supporting player who was largely forgettable in the two franchises he appeared in. Sony is gonna look at him and say, "yeah, this is no leading man." If his screen test was good enough they'll cast him as Harry Osborne. That's what happened with James Franco if you recall. He actually auditioned for Spider-Man, but they saw him as a Harry.

the important thing is lerman tested for the role, if he doesn't get the gig then he has no one to blame but himself.

Anton is hardly a forgettable actor. He was never the main focus in TS or ST,so that is pretty much bull-

Besides,more the better that Anton is underrated,cause they want someone like that. Put him firmly on the map.

And I dont know much about casting but is it weird that they are casting to role so far ahead before release date or even possible shooting date?

One of the casting reports from yesterday said that production on the film will start before the end of 2010.

I was thinking of that too. It could very well be yeah. But seeing that Chekov never really has a huge role in the films, it's possible it won't interfere. As long as they can work around the schedules.

But was Tobey Maguire really that well known to people before he was cast? I mean the most exposure he had was Pleasantville but I don't think that did much to get people to notice him. He's great in the film by the way. He's part Marty McFly part Peter Parker in that film.

I don't like his deep voice, either. Doesn't fit spidey. And Yelchin, Yeah I could imagine him as a nerd and I don't know about the spidey suit with him in it. And he has that spidey teen hero voice.

The deep voice might take some getting use to, but I saw Peter as more of a general loser in the Ultimate version with nerd speak on top.
