i'm not all that familiar with this guy Batchelor but anytime someone is using an "end days" model as a way to spread their words...i get suspicious.

I'm watching a video of him now where he's talking about supermarket tabloids. He just said that he thinks the reason they sell so well is that "they're about the rich and famous" and people 'want to live vicariously through those lives.' He obviously wasn't a fan of these rags or their tactics.

now what struck me there is this. As Sparkle said in his first post- there've been thousands of people over thousands of years who've made money by telling others that the "End times" are coming.
They've all been wrong.

So now, back to Batchelor's statement about the supermarket tabloids.
In using that same 'end times' model, Isn't he doing a similar kind of vicarious living?

shouldn't he impart his knowledge for free or something? meh, whatever.......on to christian-o films
They practically do. The people affiliated with 3ABN have spent millions on dvds and books that they give away and on trying to get more broadcasts rights, sattelite access and to build transmitters all over the world and they're always expanding even though they're in debt because they believe it's what they should do.
There is no way you can get your message to the whole world for free and on top of that, they very rarely even ask for money. They don't ask for money as often as PBS does.
Whereas, if you watch, say, Kenneth Copeland, he'll have entire episodes that are just about how if you're not giving him money, you're hindering "God's Work".
Guys like Bachelor just pass buckets around at meetings and on air, at most, they might describe a new project, like their recent puxh to educate the world about the neglected commandments, and say, "If you feel like the HS is leading you to help, here's the address."

I really think there are literally hundreds of publically-known Christian speakers that deserve scorn before Doug does.

Oh, that much we can agree on. it's just that he happened to be on when I was posting and the whole "panorama of heaven"pushed me over the edge.
for instance he said that heaven would not be a spiritual but a fisical experience and we'd see our dearly departed and so on. (what if your wife died and you re-married and died together in an accident? akwaaaaaaard!)

Or a good chance to finally have that 3-some.

I had an idea for a film script a couple years ago that was all about the "till death do us part" line, where a guy and girl get married, they live a long life together. she dies, but he DOESNT get remarried, because hey- she was the love of his life.

Then finally he passes away, goes up to heaven, looks for her...
and finds out SHE met someone new and got remarried, 'up there'.
She figured she was free to do so because, you know, "till death do us part"
and the whole movie is about whether it'ss possible to get a divorce in heaven, and what the sex is like up there.

It's a comedy!

He would quote you: “At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven” (Matthew 22:30). and explain that since there is no need for procreation, and we will be like the angels, we will know and love eachother, but not in a sexual/marital way.

Sounds uneventful.

he just forgot to say it yesterday I guess, he was going on about how the experience would be very similar to this earthly existence and about feelings and stuff.
and since sex is both for entertainment/intimacy/closeness that seems like an important section of the set of "physical"stimuli that would be included in heaven (he was talking about taste and smell and touch so.....I mean taste? food in heaven? meh who knows?)
