THE FLASH - 2016 can't get here fast enough!

Flash will appear in Arrow only for three episodes before they spin-off to his own series. Arrow will introduce Barry to viewers.

Flash show will happen before Flash movie does. Flash movie is due on 2016.

Even if The Flash movie gets canceled for some reason, general audiences will know about Flash from watching the TV series, this creates character recognition by the time he is featured again in a Justice League movie.

So, it is not really a Stupid plan.

the lines on the new 52 costume look great when Brian Buccellato draws it. It comes across as electricity, not...lines.

But only when he draws it.

Too many other artists make the lines too thick.

This times 1000. The only time the New 52 suit has really looked good, IMO, has been when Manapul/Buccellato have drawn it, or Ivan Reis. Ivan Reis' artwork is always perfection.

I do not want him looking like a puzzle, so if they include the multiple lines, they'd better tone it down and let his traditional gold/lightning trim remain dominant on the suit.

I was down on this earlier, but after all the articles I've seen aout this, I'm officially excited. There is a lot of potential for Flash on tv. The 90s series proves that, and obviously tv has changed a lot for the better since then.

If The Flash will have his regular costume, I hope they do it right and it doesn't look cheap look Arrow's suit.

The Flash suit from the 90s was actually so good, I hope the new suit can look even better though. I hope the rogues keep their costumes too.

Villains i want to see throughout the series

Gorilla Grodd
Professor Zoom
Captain Cold
Mirror Master
Weather Wizard
The Trickster
Murmur
Captain Boomerang
Heat Wave
Black Flash

I like the idea of The Flash being a series, you can introduce all those villains that way, whereas in a movie you wouldn't be able to properly focus on all of them. Aaaand, they can develop the speed force more in a series, they can really develop the legacy aspect of the character too...

I want to see Wally, Iris, maybe Jay Garrick

I'd love to see all of that. They can do so many seasons with this show. It would be awesome.

They can even do a two hour special featuring Barry VS Eobard Thawne aka The Reverse Flash. That would be sweet.

And I do agree, The Flash tv show suit was fantastic for its time, and I daresay it's even still better than many of the attempts we've seen with other characters in recent CBMs. If the new Flash series' suit draws any influence at all from the old tv show, that to me is a very good thing.

(Only thing I never really dug about the old tv show suit was the nose piece, other than that it was great. Sure, it was kind of bulky, but they explained why it made him look that way in the pilot, what with it sucking/molding to his body and then expanding, so it worked)

The great thing about a series is you can properly explore the Speed Force and with the Cosmic Treadmill you can do time travel episodes.
Great potential and frankly more potential then the JL movie as Flash is going to be playing second fiddle to Batman and Superman.

Hopefully the new show's music is at least as good as the old Flash tv show's soundtrack was by Danny Elfman and Shirley Walker. That show had a great soundtrack to it. Every episode had a great score. I know it's a lot to ask, but if they get anything like that for the new score... I will be thrilled.

I'd prefer something more upbeat. The 90's series was very dark and I always thought Flash should be a light character like Spider-Man.

So wait... has a Flash movie actually been confirmed for 2016.

Because I haven't heard anything official and everyone seems to think it's definitely happening.

Like the more serious ASM-Spidey? Or the violent final fight with Green Goblin in the first film?
Yeah, that's upbeat and light stuff :)

By General Audience you mean General AMERICAN Audience. That alone makes the plan stupid.

I found the perfect costume!! just adapt this and theyre good to go

Nothing but the Batman/Superman movie has been confirmed.

I'm confused by what they're doing here. It seems strange that they would be fast-tracking a series AND making a movie at the same time, because the movie would likely feature a different actor in the role. If they were planning to have the TV series eventually lead into a movie, that might be something, but you'd have to assume that they'd want to get in four or more seasons before making that jump.

As for having the TV series connect to DC's new movie universe... I suppose that could work but I'm not sure I have enough faith in their TV efforts. How is Arrow? Is it actually good or is it just okay enough that people have gotten on board with it? Because if it's anything like Smallville, then I wouldn't want to see it connect to the MOS/New Batman universe.

I would LOVE to see a Flash movie, but if the Scarlet Speedster hits the small screen first, so be it. I am a big fan of the old series starring John Wesley Shipp, so I know Flash can work on T.V.

I retract my earlier negative reaction. I am starting to get warmed up to the idea of The Flash show tying the DC film and tv universes together, IF The Flash show is quality.

It makes a lot of sense that they'd prioritize Flash over WW. WW has only a few good villains, not a very good supporting cast, but The Flash has both. I think there is a lot of potential for a tv show. In fact, theres more potential for Flash on tv than a movie. They have so many villains to choose from. So many great villains. There's no reason for them to ever have a boring episode with an original character when there are so many awesome villains to choose from.

I realllllly want to see Gorilla Grodd. and eventually Kid Flash

I swear to god... I want the CW to be faithful to The Flash.

No ''Red Blur'' nonsense or dark, gritty realistic stuff.

Put him in his suit with his colourful villians. If Marvel can do it, then WB shouldn't have to strip all the fun away from their library of characters.

TV makes perfect sense. Outside of Spider-Man and Batman the Flash has the best rogues so you can get a new and interesting villain each and every week with the ultimate villains being the Reverse Flash and Black Flash (loved that story line).

I really enjoyed the 90's tv series, Flash lends itself to tv far better than a movie (imho).

1) Brilliant villains (second only to Spider-Man and Batman)
2) The Flash legacy (Jay, Barry, Wally, Bart).
3) Great supporting cast.
4) Cosmic treadmill - time travel potential, back in time for Jay, forward in time for Bart
5) Speed Force

I think this is a GREAT idea (and this is coming from a Spider-Man fan).
Also I think Flash should be colourful and joyous but if they want to go realistic and gritty I'm okay with it if done well.

I think either TV or a movie would be fine, I just have my reserves about WB's ability to make a good Flash TV show. I remember really liking the 90s show (the early episodes at least) but that was a long time ago. Not sure if I'd have the same appreciation for it if I watched it now, though I still think the costume was awesome.

The 90's TV show would be up there with my favourite live action superhero TVs shows it was awesome. If this new Flash TV is half as good I'll be happy.

If the suit looked this good in the 90s then I can only imagine how sweet the new costume will be

Great post.

I must be the only one that thinks that Flash costume is horrid.

Both then and now.
