Did everybody see JMS's comments about how to approach a Flash movie? I liked what he was saying, as long as they maintained some 'joy' in that kind of story.

Plenty of actors played 2 or more roles in different comic book movies, I don't see what would stop him from doing so, unless he himself doesn't want it

Mirror Master, Prof Zoom, Speed Demon, Trickster Boomerang, Rag Doll, Fiddler, Abra Kadabra, Capt Cold, Dr Alchemy, Weather Wizard. loads to use really.

I'd be for Mirror Master, Boomerang or Zoom in 1st film.

I really wish that in the Flash film the first villain(s) were just presented as opponents that our hero is forced to deal with because that is what he's chosen to do. I think it's fair to say both Barry and Wally are both moral and straight forward guys. I feel either being shown to have the attitude of "You're a bad guy with power who uses it to harm people, and I am a good guy with power who is going to stop you" would actually be a refreshing take over the current vogue of having the first film's villain being linked to the hero's personal life or origin which is so common these days. Nothing against that path, but we have seen it a lot already. Flash's Rogues are powerful criminals that put the public in danger. That can be enough for him to fight them if in other areas of the script you give some meat to the everyday stuff he's going through.

So apparently an Hourman show is on the way.

It would be epic if Jay Garrick makes an appearance in The Flash show, coming from another universe, and later when he returns to his own universe he shows up on Hourman (with the rest of the Justice Society), revealing that the show takes place in Earth 2!

He is one of those directors…Tarantino is another…that doesn't like the genre and would never do a superhero film.

I think Tarantino wanted to direct a Luke Cage movie in the 90s and he expressed interest in doing Iron Man 3.

I seem to remember that when asked about doing a superhero/franchise type film Tarantino said he just was the wrong guy, because he would want to do everything his way, and thus would change too many things and piss off too many fans. He said it was different with doing Rum Punch, since he loved the story so much, but even then he ended up changing some details, if I remember right, when making Jackie Brown.

That being said, after seeing Kill Bill I just thought it would be a shame to not see him knock out a Power Man and Iron Fist trilogy. Make Luke Cage:Hero For Hire, then The Immortal Iron Fist, then team them up in a film called Cage & Fist. But, that will never be I suppose.

I don't get why everyone want's Flash to be a wisecracking jokester like in the DCAU. Neither Barry Allen or Wally West were particularly funny in the comics. Sure they were lighthearted and had a humorous side, but they weren't Spiderman.

Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) was the sarcastic joking arrogant one if anything.

I don't want Flash to be a stoic gargoyle Superhero but I don't want him to be reliant on making puns like Spiderman is.

I think the level of humor in a films like Thor 1 and Captain America: TFA would be the right amount.

I agree they should be lighter in tone.

I wonder if they'd actually have the Gorilla City if they used Grodd or if they'd make him the result of genetic engineering/experimentation.

Pretty much just get Andy Serkis in a mocap suit and you'd have Grodd.

I would love to see the Flash. Ever see The Man With The X-Ray Eyes? There’s a scientist in pursuit of knowledge and information and receives this power and uses it to try and see deeper and deeper what’s going on on the physical scale and the metaphysical scale, trying to burrow through to the core of the universe to understand things better. Make it obsessive like that I think you could make a really good film about the Flash.

Obsessive is just not one of the first charateristics I think of when thinking of any of the guys that have been The Flash. It also feels off to me if what you want is a film with a tone "lighter" than MOS. That's just me.
