THE FLASH - 2016 can't get here fast enough!

was written in 2011 by Marc Guggenheim (Arrow, Green Lantern) and Micheal Green (Green Lantern). -

Nooooooooooo thank you.

What sort of issues does The Flash run into being the fastest there is?

If this script is from the current script that is for the Flash movie can you put details in spoiler tags, please. :)

Lurhmann, Zemeckis or Besson - who will be best Flash director?

Ill review goes up in less then an hour and itll give all the spoilers :) All I can say is I know a movie blogger who is friends with Marc G and verified its the same script. They actually wondered how I even got it since no one was suppose to have it.

Hopefully Marc G isn't mad we are making a spoiler filled review xD

Who is primarily responsible for drastically changing up the script to GL? Everyone I've spoken to who read the original script loved it, so it's a shame if the guys who wrote that draft have gotten a bad rap due to other people meddling with their work.

blomkamp.

and copley NEEDS to be thawne. at least, i really want him to be. i hope with ben being buds with damon, they can wrangle them in into the dccu though blomkamp's been against doing big budget films.

I am willing to bet not only will he be...but it may cause WB to decide to change the script since someone pretty much gave away all the details.

I didn't think the GL script was that great, but better than what we got. From my understanding, Johns was the reason it got worse and it hurt his position at WB when it came to getting films for other characters made.

Greg Berlanti is hit or miss, he's in part responsible for the Green Lantern disaster, if he wasn't happy with Warner, then he should've left, no excuses. He also created the very mediocre show No Ordinary Family (canceled after 1 season).

Regarding the Flash script, maybe is decent, but the guy who did the review likes the Green Lantern movie, so there are more than enough reasons to not trust his opinion on the script.

However, here in this script, like I said before, Cold is all wrong. Here, Cold is a hitman; a gun for hire more than a common criminal with a gimmick. To be honest, it didn't bother me terribly much that Cold didn't have a freeze gun and that instead he used a chemical that he’d just shoot at people and inject people with. I mean, it bothered me as a Flash fan, but I was okay with it as long as Cold was going to be written right. Unfortunately he was not. He was used as a pawn to Thawne (who I’ll talk about in a minute) just as Hector Hammond was to Parallax in Green Lantern (which if we’re going to be completely honest, is a film that I enjoy and watch regularly)...

I don't know why Guggenheim seems so invested in this childhood sweethearts shorthand gimmick. It hasn't worked in Arrow or GL and presumebly wouldn't work in the Flash script since it resembles so much of the Arrow dynamic.

People don't want to fill in some past emotional connection in action films. That junk only works in dramas.

so he liked gl. what does it matter? when he talked about captain cold he was dead on.

^^ Anyone that likes GL has a doubtful taste, same with Spiderman 3, Transformers movies, etc... :word:

This one felt like it had more heart then Arrow tho. To be Honest

It's the obstacle they keep wanting to put in front though. Making them have to jump through hoops to repair it.

It's still the Superman Returns problem. Don't set-up the dynamic with another guy from jump.

Ollie was a a-hole to Laurel is the first we get of the dynamic. Lois is happy with another man. Hal is an a-hole to Carol.

Spiderman 1 sees the relationship from jump as unrequited. Yeah, he's liked her forever but the dynamic as it stands and changes is what the audience sees.

Guggenheim seems to place so much emphasize on the dynamic being from what we don't see then wanting us to jump the hurdles to emotionally invest in them. Unnecessary obstacles.

Being late is okay. Not being a couple because of it is okay. The audience knows he's trying to be there for her by the end of the movie.

I think they should just get rid of the other dude until a sequel. We were invested in Peter and MJ by the time Spidey2 came.

Bruce and Betty(Ang) were already broken up before the Hulk. How are we supposed to care about things getting better if they sucked before hand anyways?

Among the three suggestions Lurhmann/Zemeckis/Besson, I can't find Blomkamp anywhere :woot:

But I guess he would be an interesting pick. They could even shoot the film in Johannesburg and say it's America.

That didn't read like a review so much as an opinion of the changes made to the source material. Eh.
