Keaton came back for Batgirl, the movie that, based on the set pics, was actually putting effort into being a spiritual sequel to his original movies. Then they amped up his presence in The Flash to downplay Miller's toxic brand. But it looks like Keaton was justifiably furious over the Batgirl cancelation, so he stopped promoting The Flash. Which created the insane marketing reality we experienced where his Batman became the focal point of all the ads but neither he nor Ezra were actually present for any press events.
