I guess it's possible to like and not like a costume at the same time, because that's where I am with it. I love the cowl, which I always believed would be the hardest part to get right and not looking ridiculous. Getting Green Arrow's costume right must have felt like a walk in the park compared to having to make a frigging red cowl with pointy out ears work on a tv show, and they pulled it off. Which I guess is what makes me annoyed at how they then seemingly dropped the ball when it came to the boots, gloves and that belt oO
They detract from the costume overall, but overall I still really dig it.
I think they need to add a muscle suit effect but for his legs. And this is no slight against Gustin, building sizeable leg muscles (calves etc) is so much harder then building arms and upper torso muscles. I think adding a defined shape to the thighs and calves will give the legs a really great muscluar look, like a 100 metre sprinter, rather then a long distance runner look (i.e a bit of a stick figure).
Although I don't believe this is the first evolution of his suit and I can't see him updating it through episodes (it looks like a finished and complete suit, we're the ones who want to see it changed) perhaps there is time for them to tinker with it moving from the pilot to a green lit series.
