The Good:

- The effects. They were a little shoddy in the beginning, but were overall very solid.

- Jesse L. Martin and Grant Gustin. I really love them both.

- Cisco. He wasn't even half as annoying as he was in the pilot.

- Seeing more of Eddie Thawne. There wasn't enough of him in the pilot.

The Bad:

- The antagonist. The actor was very weak and I can't figure out why he killed himself or why Barry didn't try to save him.

The Okay:

- Caitlyn. The actress is trying, but the problem is she's trying too hard.

Another solid episode. 8/10. I'm really going to like this show.

Didn't Barry literally say "I tried to save him"(After trying to save him)?

I'm glad the melodrama between Joe and Barry seems to be eliminated this early, tv-shows always get better when the main characters stop worrying and just goes with the flow - he's a superhero, now go do superhero stuff!

Didn't Barry literally say "I tried to save him"(After trying to save him)?

Yes, he says that, but that isn't what happened. He just stands there and lets him fall to his death. Granted, he tried to pull him up through the window, but after he falls, he does nothing.

Loving this show, it's weird because it is basically the complete opposite of Arrow.

I got home a couple minutes late,but I don't suppose I missed anything important,so I'll give my review:

This one didn't quite hit the spot for me,but it was good.

Please,-please!- don't give us flashbacks every week.It was ok this time, but leave those for Arrow in the future.JWS nailed it again in the scene, though.

Multiplex was cool. Not sure why Barry had such a tough time with him though. One would think with the speed he possesses,it would be nothing to spin those clones off him.Of course,Flash is so powerful, making him unbeatable could be a problem.I hope they don't kill off all their villains in the future!

I was prepared to hate Joe West (which wouldn't be unusual, since I originally hated Quinton Lance in his first few appearances)but, they did soften him up much faster than they did with Lance.I think he'll be alright going forward.

I'm still not crazy about so many people knowing Flash's ID.Flash is pretty much a solo act,yet Star Labs looks like the bridge of the freakin' Starship Enterprise.

I hope they don't keep doing those Spider-Man-esq unmasking scenes after he runs.

This Wells character- is he from the comics or just for the series?

I liked the call back to the 90's series where Barry has to eat a lot.I was hoping they'd show him eating the pizza at top speed. The 90's series was always finding clever ways like that to showcase his powers beyond crimefighting.

I agree that it's definitely better than Arrow (and Smallville) but I have to say the actress playing Caitlyn is awful.

On a visual scale, let alone on how they've been used to move Barry's arc forward, the villains that we've gotten in this and last week's week episodes were great.

The only real downside is that the performances of those villains are less than stellar, leaving a very forgettable note on the show.

If anything, it seems like our first "real" villain will appear in the form of Captain Cold.

The actor who was playing Multiplex wasn't threatening at all in terms of his appearance or acting. I mean, his skills were used well of course. It's just the actor was so plain that you really don't feel anything bad from him....at least, not when he has his mask off.

i've been really impressed by Joe West, he was perfectly cast

watching the recent episode again right now.. it's unbelievably good

We do want the individual Rogues to NOT be able to beat Barry on their own so they team up. Right?
I mean, isn't that the point of the Rogues?

I was hoping they'd avoid using Mike Baron's idea in this show, I really did.
Mike Baron is the guy who wrote the first 20 issues of Wally West's Flash series back in the 80s, it was him who gave Flash the hyper metabolism, making Flash needy for more nourishment the more he uses his super speed.

The episode had some great moments. the weakness moment was a nice nod to the 90's series when Barry passes out as a result of not enough food in his system.

The villain face Multiplex vs. The Flash was visually stunning

I love the flashback moment with JWS as Henry Allen

It was nice to see the the speed force treadmill (prototype)

the apperance of Simon Stagg made me think that we'd get to see Rex Mason, a former employee of Stagg's, becoming Metamorpho – the Element Man down the line.

I still suspect that Wells is Zoom or at the very least he's going to become him. Right now detective Eddie ain't showing any signs of villainy just yet but who knowns maybe he'll start to crack

Iris is annoying me, the actress is hot. But her dialogue is very flat and whinny (It's like we back with Smallville's Lana ugh)

Amazing episode, that hit all the right spots. Even better than the pilot, this show is frighteningly good just 2 episodes in. How good can it get?

Still not enough of Eddie Thawne, he's the one character we know the least at the moment, but I guess that's the point.

Still not entirely convinced Wells is Reverse Flash, or at least not Eobard Thawne/Professor Zoom.

I agree weakest part of the episode was the villian and Caitlyn, but hopefully she'll get better.

This show is frickin' fantastic. Just pure joy. I love Arrow and i LOVE this. DC is just nailing it so far ( although Gotham needs to overcome some growing pains) but Flash is just grade A fun.

Also am I the only one who cant WAIT for Blake Neely to release the soundtrack to this?

A solid show.....
Thank goodness Joe West is in Barry's corner now, I was dreading watching "You're not up to it, Barry" go on and on. Some thoughts going forward.

When Barry is in costume keep the mask on!
How about a method for keeping his costume handy for quick changes.(*ring would be sweet*).
Use the full potential and the fun of super speed, spinning, vibrating thru solids, running on water, etc.

So much wrong in this post.

Simply put, Arrow is what a Green Arrow show should be and The Flash so far is what a Flash show should be.

Im not saying Arrow is a bad show, i like the show but we have to be honest, it took a LOT of time to get its own identity, hell even this season the main villan will be a Batman villan. Flash did that in just 2 episodes, thats freaking impressive.

Still i watched last weeks season premier and it didn't feel ambitious, until the end of the episode i wasn't impressed at all with what i was watching. The action scenes should be more engaging and grand, they dont have to show super powers like flash , and still that series feels more like a mini movie than a show.

I hope Arrow get their act together and step it up tonight, and both shows can be the best possible

Why would Reverse Flash use a knife?

Uh because Barry just became The Flash so the Negative Speed Force doesn't exist for him to tap into it just yet. Which is likely why he came back in time to ensure that Barry becomes The Flash and continues to the point that the negative speed force is created by proxy and then he could tap into it.

Good episode...I'm more interested in Wells than the flash though, and how his development is gonna happen..he just seems like such a criminal mastermind, and more on the level of the joker or ras in terms of credibility as a villain, so I'm quite excited about that.

I'm actually surprised everyone thinks Multiplex is dead, I have little doubt that was a clone that ran out and jumped out the window, letting the real multiplex escape, they cut that scene very strange when they showed it on T.V. and I have no doubt for good reason. He's a really cool villain, and has a lot more potential.

Sad they killed off Stagg, that actor was brilliant, but I think this could set up metamorpho a little bit better, you have stagg's brother..who is also a stagg obviously, feel the need to create metamorpho to stop these meta-humans, it's a very interesting set-up and one I totally see as plausible.

I personally didn't like the first episode all that much, but this second episode was fairly strong, which is no doubt due to having all the practice from arrow's first season, so it bodes well for this show.

I agree with this especially in light of Firestorm eventually showing up in the future. Also interesting to me how they made Caitlin Snow's fiancee Ronnie Raymond. That's going to enhance the dynamic between them tenfold if she eventually becomes Killer Frost.

Really good effects still, and the suit has grown on me, though I'm learning to dislike the rubber neck. As long as he looks straight ahead he's fine.
I find the conversations fairly stale and uninteresting. I wish Barry was more fun. Iris continues to be shoehorned into the show.
I think the key to improvement would be more focus on the villains. Hopefully when we get Captain Cold and the others, they'll have more screentime. The villain this week had a lame expositional speech he gave to Barry at the end, in order to explain his motives. even if they are a one off, some scenes to get into the head of the villain would be nice. Maybe show what it's like to live with the villains unique power.
And while we're at it, I feel superspeeds effect on Barry's life has come off in a fairly superficial way so far.
Good effects and costume design, but the script has a lot to be desired.

From Joe Adalian's twitter:

"It's official: THE FLASH is a big honkin' hit for CW. Episode 2 retains 100 percent of A18-49 from debut, with a 1.6. Viewers: 4.1M

FLASH did the same A18-49 rating as ABC's SHIELD last night (1.6)."

Season renewal, here we come!
