The things that didn't work for me (revealing your secret identity? locking this lame-o "villain" away in an airless room without a hint of due process? at least when Arrow did that they'd established Deathstroke as the big bad for an entire season--and did the STAR kids agree to be jailers in addition to everything else at some point?) overwhelmed the things that did (sonic punch, Wells and West.)

Some good questions there. I assume these guys have had no trials, since Eddie seemed o puzzled about how Girder had survived being shot in the face. So are the STAR labs employees cool with this lack of due process?

It's not easy to put people on trial, that could slaughter an entire Courtroom. But I do hope that the authorities will eventually learn of the makeshift Super Prison. I just can't see team Flash taking care of all the super criminals by themselves.

I still think wells is putting these guys in the particle accelerator chamber for a reason.. Maybe he'll turn it on using their power or something.

I think the morality of locking the villains away is going to be a big issue. I view it as similar to the way Oliver killed villains in the first season of Arrow but eventually decides that's not right the right thing to do. Watch for it to be a sticking point between Barry and Wells.

I liked the episode.

Baffled Barry would show the guy his face.

That whole area must smell like ****. :funny:

So in a future episode when the baddies breakout it will cause tension that one of them knows who he is

Yeah, I understand that. But, Barry knowingly showing his face is a dumb way to go about it.

I think that because it was a villain with a personal connection to Barry made him feel the need to reveal who he is.

Was it dumb in the grand scheme of things? Sure. But it's not exactly unbelievable that a person, real or fictional, would do that for the emotional aspect of it.

I imagine if any of us had super powers in real life, there'd be people we wanted to know it was us.
If we put someone away who bullied us, the desire to reveal who we are for that victory would be strong.

Simply put, making perfectly smart decisions isn't realistic and would make setting up future conflict harder.
Let's not BatGod it here.

Great episode...yet again. The Flash never fails to impress.

And, of course, what an ending. I had my heart in my mouth, thinking that was the end of Joe. Extremely relieved it wasn't. Professor Zoom can't get here fast enough.

Good overall episode.

Just curious, how did Iris end up out knocking out girder even after the sonic punch Flash gave? She can't be that strong.

She punched him before he turned to metal. Plus, I think the supersonic punch weakened him a good bit.

Finally got through reading the thread. Cheap shot still, wasn't needed. Guess it was put there so her fans could go "see she can take care of herself."

It was put there for the same reason Pepper Potts got the same arc in Iron Man 3. It makes for a great story, and further explores the character and her relationship to the hero. That was needed, and in the context of the story, if she had waited for him to recover and armor up again, he may not have been stopped a second time. It's good stuff, not sure why you're reading all this negative stuff into it, but it's heartless and pointless.

Running 700 mph around the hurricane Mardon made in the first episode exhausted Barry, he ran more than a 130 miles faster than the pilot, and punching a hard to defeat foe hurt his hand.
Not to forget Barry's hyper metabolism and his constant need to replenish on nourishment.

Really? How is it heartless? The argument was does girder still have his strength when he isn't transformed? Is he a regular Joe as himself because Colossus didn't need to shift into organic metal form, he did it only when he needed to, he still had strength even when slightly weakened. I just find it hard to believe her character could do that. Personal opinion.

In the comics did he need to replenish? I heard otherwise. In this version he needs to.

Barry, never.
Wally, since the start of his series as Flash up until the point he tapped into the Speed Force and gained more access to the powers it offers. About the first 100 issues of his series had him require more food than the average Joe, but it wasn't shown often.

Still doesn't explain why Caitlin and Cisco were okay with him doing that.

Barry can make as many mistakes as he wants, but this is one that could've been easily avoided.

The Pepper Potts arc was incredibly sophomoric and stupid. I laughed during those scenes because they were OOC. The audience I remember watching it with all laughed as well. IM3 was the weaker of the 3. Gwyneth Paltrow as an actress didn't even factor much, the arc was bad enough.

Barry seems to take off his mask in public a lot in the show. Was he so eager in the comics to reveal his identity?
