FFS Team Flash (and Team Arrow) - NO MORE SECRETS!

I'm really growing tired of all of the artificial and unnecessary drama being created by everyone keeping secrets from one another, whether it's Cisco not telling Barry and Caitlin about his developing abilities, Iris not telling Joe that he might have a son, Joe not telling Barry that Harrison Wells has returned, Laurel not telling Oliver about her plan to resurrect Sara, Diggle not telling Oliver about HIVE, etc.

Time and time again storylines are resolved with everyone agreeing that keeping secrets damages their relationships which makes then less effective as a team. But, they still continue to keep secrets! Couldn't the "drama" come from the secrets being promptly revealed and the characters working together to overcome whatever adversity the "secret" reveals?

I agree completely but this is pretty much every single TV drama ever, not just limited to the CW DC shows.

They really need to start letting more metas and E2 characters venture outside of Central City.

I know. At the very least, if I was an E1 villain, I think I would commit crimes in any city OTHER than the one with a super powered heroic protector.

As for the E2 villains, I still don't understand their motivation. It seems as though Zoom is forcing them through the portal and refusing to return them to E2 unless they kill Barry. But, wouldn't most E2 villains be happy causing trouble and running amok on any Earth? Why are they motivated to return to E2?

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't King Shark show up in the Season Zero comic? Wasn't he locked up? Or is this Earth 2 King Shark?

I feel they're doing it right mainly because of how they've handled former big bads on Arrow.

Malcolm Merlyn in S2 and beyond, and Slade Wilson in S3 was just a huge disaster because they were these big characters reduced to cameos.

At least with Wells they are still devoting ample time for him to be a player this season and in the future. He looks important to the plot still rather than a bad version of last years villain.

a small bit of me has to suspect him as a villain though. Last year they basically told us in episode one he was the villain and for a good chuck of the year there was an is he or isn't he debate on line, even after the episode of his reveal. Can't pull the same trick twice but there is trust issues that they will play on.

Good episode with the exception of Iris's drama, which was so boring. Hopefully this is the last we've seen of Francine. The only good part about it is that Iris now gets to keep a secret from Joe. Henry Hewitt was appropriately dickish so I'm glad he survived and may return to be dickish again. Stein was never more than okay for me so I'm pleased that he's leaving and being replaced by Dr. Wells. E2 Wells may not be evil but I get the vibe he's not entirely good either so that'll be interesting. King Shark, of course, was the best part of the episode. CW, increase The Flash's budget so we can have a whole episode devoted to him!
yeah as I said in pages before now that they forced wally into the nuclear family with her having him while she disappeared from Rehab all those years. yeah this won't be the last we see of her at all sorry.

I'm just wondering since we know he'll become meta if he isn't already and his mom was an addict some how that might make his meta human speed force use more warped cause he might have simptoms from the drug abuse she did . anyway.....

It was a decent origin ep for the new Firestorm but it was all about that King Shark!!!!

I found the episode to be... Okay. I can't sat Shark's appearance was some high point. The CG was really good, but... Okay the CG was really good. Can't say it was all that unexpected. They teased it with Spivot going to Barry with the case and really it was just there to give us the E2 Wells moment. Not a bad episode but it felt like it was just set up for future stories (and series) to come.

My one big complaint was the actor's performance for Hewitt. It was un enjoyably bad. All in all, an okay episode. Next week should be really good, getting to know the new Wells and maybe seeing more Earth2.

This episode was very good, I wish we can see more of the reverse flash since wells is back. That king shark looked freaky. I'm sure we will see him again soon. Oh and also I think Barry and patty should hook up I think they would look good together.

Honestly, aside from Killer Shark's cameo, I wasn't that big of a fan of this episode.

The villain of the week for this episode was rather very week in both characterization and the portrayal of his abilities (aka visual effects).

And the New Firestorm's arc into becoming a hero felt very rushed as well.

The animation for King Shark looks kinda wonky, details are great.

This show continues to impress me with every episode. King Shark looked fantastic! Even better than Grodd, and I was thoroughly impressed with Grodd last season. he was not perfect, but for the budget, the modeling was quite good.

Also, the Flash's costume looks better than it ever has. I was not a fan when the show first started. I did not hate it, but it felt generic to me. But as the episodes went on and the tweaks were made to it, I grew to really appreciate it.

I immediatley thought of Street Sharks, haha.

Shark Man or whatever he's called was pretty well executed. The animation was a little weird, but the design was actually pretty frightening, they did a great job. Usually 'monster' shots turn out to be disappointments, but this was actually better than I expected.

I say if it didn't happen on screen, it's simply not canon.

Flash and Arrow are really working towards setting up Legends of Tomorrow.

While I really enjoyed Family of Rogues for its improved depiction of Leonard Snart, I really thought this one was perfunctory. I thought that the actor playing Jefferson Jackson is GREAT, however the writers gave some really really really bad sports-related puns once he becomes Firestorm.

So far, it looks like Arrow is doing a slightly better job setting up Legends of Tomorrow than Flash is.

One of the issues that’s currently plaguing both shows is all of the LOT setup I think. It’s really taking time away/distracting from the actual plots of the season, and is not all that compelling thus far.

I also hope that they start doing something more interesting with the “multiple dimensions” thing soon. Thus far, it seems like they’re mostly doing the S1 thing again, just with Earth-2 villains instead of Earth-1 ones. And if that continues, then it’s going to feel like a waste of potential.

Oh and count me as one who’s tired of the “keeping secrets solely for quick and easy drama” thing as well.

Since they didn't use Jason, I was glad they use Jefferson Jackson from the comics.
He was classmate of Ronnie's when Gerry Conway was writing the book.
Jefferson only had a handfull appearances.
Plus it was cool to finally see Firestorm battle one his own villains, Toramak(SP).
I believe Henry Hewitt 1st appearance was in FURY OF FIRESTORM #15.

King Shark=AWESOME!!!

None of the episodes thus far have really wowed me. I'm hoping we get one soon that is just really great and intense.

Episode was good, specially Joe's advices to Barry, and Jax's decision, and King Shark and the Wells thing. I loved Barry's narration at the end, learning the lesson from Jax's leap of faith and listening to Joe's advices.

But I just think this season has too much melodrama and cheap explanations for why some actors or actresses can or can't stick around. I could see the terminal disease plot for Iris' mother come from miles away. Is that any helpful? No, it's just some lame crybaby way to try and throw a pity party.

I hated the way Iris acted towards her mother also. What a jerk. Is that the message you wanna send to girls looking up to Iris? Not that I agree with a mother leaving her daughter, not at all.

Anyways, that, and Barry's dad's departure during his homecoming party right after his son freed him. Feels too obvious that the producers can't keep everyone on a payroll, and they got to find some cheap ass way to justify some unnecessarily heavy plot twists.

Overall, a weak start for the Flash.

Arrow and Agents of Shield, though, right up there !!
