The Flash TV Show?

PROS:

1. The BARRY ALLEN FLASH is well suited to eposodic tv. His CSI job lends itself to case of the week stories.

2. Done right a tv show can develop Flash and his supporting cast (I'd include the Rogues here).

3. A weekly show would be a good way to publisize a DCCU to the general audience, if it were tied into WB's feature film plans.

THE CONS:

1. It will be on CW and both in terms of budget and casting and tone this does not bode well given the networks track record for genre shows of all stripes. (Not just superheroes but any high concept fantasy material. Could you imagine what GAME OF THRONES would be on CW?)

You're really bringing up Game of Thrones in relation to The CW doing a Flash adaptation? :whatever: Think about that for a minute.

And the network does great genre for the most part, so I don't see what the issue is.

This x1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

Just... Not on SyFy though. Bleh

Oh knock it off. Booster Gold could not be MORE appropriate for Syfy.

Does WB just not have the rights for Booster? Or is SyFy like owned by them or something?

Warner Bros. has the rights (as far as I know) to all DC stuff, Syfy is just where the project happened to land.

Might as well be on tbs in levels of quality in my eyes. Lmao nah SyFy would be ok enough for Booster. I mean, personally I don't think CW is good enough for DC heroes tbqh but if CW is then SyFy definitely is. I just wish at least one DC property could get HBO, Showtime or AMC quality. Hell A&E quality would be amazing or even NBC or FOX but you know I'm right in saying that visually most shows on the networks I mentioned are far better than shows on either SyFy or CW. Honestly, I don't see possible way anybody could even attempt to dispute that. For real though, FOX or F/X need to get the ball rolling on a superhero property and fast

Sawyer, Sawyer, Sawyer...
I brought up GOT as an example that illustrates the right amount of effort and resources put into a production that requires it. Is it possible that the elements necessary to make a quality show from The Flash? Anything is possible brotha.... But what's their track record? What does their stuff come out looking like man? Like a notch above the old UNIVERSAL ACTION PACK? This could work, but if history is any guide.....

:lmao:

Oh you and your nonsense.

I'd love to see a comic property on HBO/AMC/Showtime/FX, but The Flash isn't one of them. Sandman, Gotham Central, Y The Last Man... sure. The Flash, though? He's not too good for this. :o

Sorry but I rank DC heroes basically at the top of the totem pole. And what is wrong with A&E or NBC quality?! Bates Motel is amazing visually as is Hannibal or shows like The Event, Heroes, Surface, Chuck etc. Those shows looked damn good. Better than anything CW or SyFy has ever produced. Arrow is really the only exception I can think of with CW. It looks exceptionally great, for a CW show. SyFy's production quality is just laughable. Sans BSG and Caprica.

Damn it. I'm forgetting Supernatural, Reaper, Angel. Ok, I take back some of the stuff I said but still. You have to see where I'm coming from Sawyer, you have great taste man! You have to see what I'm meaning by this. Although I will say I am massively biased about DC characters cuz it really is my favorite fictional universe and I just wish something from DC could get Emmy worthy production and writing quality

I'll give you Hannibal, but you know JUST as much as I do that that show is a complete anomaly for NBC.

The Vampire Diaries has rather good production values. Probably the best on the network, even more so than Arrow. The cinematography is always pretty impressive.

Why does everybody have to keep making me even flirt with the idea of watching TVD? Ugh lol

But yea I know Hannibal is a total anomaly. Still counts though!

Since they're likely going to go with a CW familiar actor, like Amell was, I'm going to throw out Matt Davis' name. Because...

A. He's not some pretty boy that had a two-line role on 90210.

and B. The guy has leading man potential.

Granted, he is 35, but... :o

Matt Davis would be a good choice.

well Stephen Amell is 32 i am sure the flash actor can be late 20's early thirties aswell

I suppose, with the same realistic tone they're taking as Arrow, there's no chance of Gorilla Grodd showing up.

Grodd beinng on tv is not just about tone, but budget.

I don't know, a hyper intelligent gorilla with mind powers on a science fiction show is not that out of left field.

Leave all the Gorilla City stuff out though.

NO WAY! No Grodd!! I like Grodd fine but I have NEVER understood why he is such a threat to Flash. Wtf do intelligent apes have to do with super speed?! Makes no sense! That being said, time travel and Reverse Flash are musts IMO. Plus, Captain Cold needs to be a series regular and heavily developed because even if he isn't Flash's biggest threat he's easily his most important foe. Who else is needed here? I wanna see The Rogues start off separate and come together over the first season or so.

If Iris West is a series regular then I'm sure Wally will show up sooner or later. I mean Roy already has on Arrow.

I hope they have an earlier version of the Flash (Jay Garrick) featuring along the way or even in the first episode to hand things down to Barry Allen.

I really want Cold as a regular. Kinda like Lex was on Smallville.

it's more about lack of confidence than faith. I always wanted to see the Flash in theatres, it would be a great movie, big bucks, family friendly movie (ex. Spiderman).

I'm more thinking of a grandeur scope. If the Flash is on TV, teens and fans of superheros will watch....... not general public and the average joes, the public that will ensure a billion dollar grossing movie. If we see an origin story on TV (tsskk not even in it's own Flash series but a couple episodes in Arrow???), but we will see an origin movie for the Flash before JL? You guys are talking about more of in terms of "i want to see it now" or "can't wait", i'm talking more of how the character can excel to more audiences and long term stability. If Flash is a TV series, great, i will watch definitely, but will my mom or cousins...... no.
