I actually quite like the way that he looked in the remake:

Oh and, as an aside:

Those eyes are terrifying.
It's my birthday and my middle name is Jason.
Aaron Guzikowski is in negotiations to write the next installment in the Friday the 13th franchise for Paramount and Platinum Dunes, sources tell Variety.
Michael Bay will produce along with his Platinum Dunes partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. Paramount had no comment on the negotiations.
While plot details are still under wraps, the film will likely focus on the return of legendary mass murderer Jason Voorhees, who has terrorized inhabitants of the Camp Crystal Lake for the past three decades.
This will mark the 13th film in the franchise, with the most recent bowing in 2009 for New Line and Warner Bros. As part of the deal that allowed Warner Bros. to come on as co-producers on Interstellar, the studio traded the rights to Friday the 13th to Paramount, which is where Platinum Dunes also holds a first-look deal.
This will be the second Friday the 13th installment Platinum Dunes will produce, already having rebooted classic slashers The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Nightmare on Elm Street.
Guzikowskis thriller Prisoners, starring Hugh Jackman, garnered widespread critical acclaim after its release in 2013.
He is currently attached to pen a remake of the Steve McQueen pic Papillon and is also penning the reboot of The Wolf Man for Universal.
Skipping the lengthy backstory, the latest is that producers Platinum Dunes have been waiting on a first draft from Prisoners scribe Aaron Guzikowski, which was due this month. This would dictate the next steps in bringing Jason Voorhees back to theaters.
Since they were starting from square one, all variables were unknown, except that it wouldnt be found-footage.
Now that Platinum Dunes is sending TMNT 2 into theaters next month, they can focus on reopening Camp Crystal Lake and this starts with the screenplay.
Its all good news as Platinum Dunes Brad Fuller has not only confirmed that a script has been delivered, but also that theyre moving forward with it, reports The Reel World.
Aarons story has great characters, Fuller explained before revealing that theyre going to try and really understand Jasons motivations. You kind of have to understand Jason Voorhees, so we go back and we kind of started over and work our way forward.
When asked for clarity on the next Friday the 13th being an origin story, Fuller dropped two bombs: Origin-ish, but its an origin that no one has seen before. Obviously Pamelas there, but its a little bit different from what youve seen before.
*Crosses fingers*
*Has mild expectations*
*expectations improve a bit*it wouldn’t be found-footage
*expectations decrease a good bit*they’re going to try and really understand Jason’s motivations. “You kind of have to understand Jason Voorhees..."
*expectations go back to mildy levels, fingers still crossed*“Origin-ish, but it’s an origin that no one has seen before. Obviously Pamela’s there, but it’s a little bit different from what you’ve seen before.”
