Thank the gods that Street Fighter bombed...another notch under Rothman's fail belt. Next up, Dragoncrap.

We need to start coming up with great renames of Fox bombs to describe how s--ty they are.

I gonna be posting this a few other places: I predict that DBE will epic fail with critics and audiences, but everyone will say that James Marsters is awesome in it.

I have no idea how the budgets for these two crappy looking movies ended up being 60million and 100+ million. I've seen sci-fi channel movies and tv series with better special effects. What's hilarious is there were rumours that Fox had plans to make sequels for both of these
crapfests.

there is no way that DB was 100 millions.
i think htey are making up hte budgets to make people think that the movie will have a lot of effects.

Just imagine if Star Trek was in the hands of Fox "shudders"

paramount is really spending a lot of money on TF,star trek and GI joe.
right so.
this is 2009. we deserve huge action. not some bad wire work.

Fox in charge of trek? that would be the end of civilization as we know it

Fox is Satan.

David Hayter did good to quit them. By the way, why isn't this Rothman dude fired.

I wonder if Rothman actually cares if he is probably the most hated man in the entertainment industry?

Probably not. I could imagine him being soooo thick skinned.

But I love to dream that when he goes home at night he curls up on his bed and sobs himself to sleep.

"They hate me, they really, really hate me. WAA WAA WAA! :("

:hehe: One can dream ay?

He probably enjoys the attention he gets, especially having an entire thread devoted to his devious ways. lol. I mean, what other Studio executive gets that kind of attention...lol.

Lorenzo Di bonaventura was the scorn of DC comic fans when he was running Warner Brothers. He is responsible for Batman 3, Batman and Robin, the 8 year Superman Lives mess, Constantine, Steel, and Catwoman. Lorenzo was a hack but, at least he didn't run every WB blockbuster franchise into the ground. Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings did just fine while he was in power.

Lorenzo's tenure at WB looks great compared to Rothman's who has found a way to damage every franchise that was generating money for Fox.

Constatine doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Catwoman and Steel. It isn't that bad a film.

It would most definately result in the collective suicide of every ST fan on the face of the Earth.

There is really no legitimate reason I can think of. They'd do much better without him.

Funny thing is, one of the worst things he's done is let Bryan Singer rape X-Men to begin with, and yet most people laud his pieces of source material raping ****.

Not waiting for Bryan Singer to finish Superman Returns (which he botched almost as badly as the X-Men series) so he could direct X3 wasn't how Rothman ****ed up that series, letting him direct X-Men in the first place was.

You kiddin' me?

Fox and Rothman were the guys who vetoed Sentinels in X2 because they thought that giant robots aren't marketable (ironic, considering Transformers and Terminator Salvation).

So you tell me this: Singer did the best that he did with the limitations that he had; you don't have to like X1 and X2 but don't give that crap that he r*ped the franchise, and let Brett Ratner a FREE PASS. Lame Lame Lame.

Singer made Wolverine movies, not X-Men movies. If he had the balls to begin with he would've made an origin movie with the original team.

It's a wonder why the new Wolverine movie is called just Wolverine when it should really be called Wolverine 4.

Singer wasn't a fan of X-Men. He just wanted to make it all a metaphor for being gay. I mean... Bobby's "coming out" scene in X2... come on. X-Men was about being different, but it never was like THAT. The villians never had any depth. They were systematically written to not have any dialogue. Mystique rarely spoke. Sabretooth had a few lines. Toad was useless. Deathstryke was a drone. You never got to really hate any of them because they were just tools from the tool chest. Spectacle. That speaks loads about how much he respected the comics.

Professor X was brushed to the side in every movie. They didn't know how to write him into the story so they went with the tried and true "kill the wise old man" route in all the films. In the first, he was knocked out. The second he was captured. The third he was killed. What happened to Prof X from the comics who would LEAD the team in battle? What a waste of such a perfect piece of casting too.

I really was never impressed with Singer's X-Men. I'm ready for a reboot with an origin story dealing with the original team.
