The Full List of "Crimes" Committed by Fox's Tom Rothman

Anybody think Rothman could cut down the runtime of the Oscars to 90 minutes? Maybe add some more action to the show?

We can all take solace, at least, at the fact that they're being punished for these crimes by movie goers. Fox has been sinking since 2007, and this year they again have a lot of mediocre movies with over bloated budgets. Street Fighter and Dragonball are bound to, if there's any justice in the world Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 will fail (Then again, I thought the same would happen to the first one), and though on one hand it pains me to think of a James Cameron film being a flop, let's face it, with a $300,000,000 price tag, Avatar is bound to be too ambitious to make a lot of money back. That just leaves Ice Age 3 and Wolverine as far as heavy hitters go. now, Ice age is bound to do well, but with the controversy surrounding Rothman's changes to the film, and the way they royally ****ed up Deadpool, I don't think Wolverine is going to do as well as they'd like. I'm sure it will do well enough for itself, but I don't think we'll be seeing X3 numbers, or as much as they need.

If they get their asses handed to them again this year they have to change right... Right?

As far as I can tell right now, Avatar is about the only Fox movie this year where I'll definitely go. I'm not skipping Wolverine, but I'm not going to make it a priority. If I go, great. If not, fine.

Is Rothman having any input on Avatar? (I can't see how he could, I can't picture James Cameron taking it.)

Same here. I don't see Cameron listening to the King of bad ideas for a project he's been developing for 10 years. Avatar is the only Fox film I'm looking forward to this year.

No, Cameron's one of the (very) few directors who gets 'carte blanche' from Fox = he can do whatever he wants to, similar to how Chris Nolan didn't get any notes or requests from Warner Bros when he was working on 'The Dark Knight'. So, 'Avatar' is safe as far as the movie itself goes, let's hope Fox doesn't screw up the marketing campaign.

Baz Luhrman is other one prolly.

Cameron didn't get to do Alien 5 however...

so was it confirmed that Rothman repainted a set of wolverine?
Jackman said it was a truck in a press interview. He said that they all argued over the color of a truck and Rothman had it repainted because he is 'passionate about the character'. Now that to me is even more stupid that disagreeing over the color of a entire set but one truck:huh: WTF who cares...it is one measley truck:o So, at the end of the day, Rothman mucked around and had something repainted to his liking.

Well, I've heard that Wolverine is supposed to be Rothman's last chance. I like Wolverine, Deadpool, and Gambit, but that right there's a reason to root for the movie to underperform. Life can be complicated sometimes. :hehe:

Maybe it's just due to bad timing, or a way to screw over Iron Man, but what about Fox's option to take away Emily Blunt from Iron Man 2? Unless it was IN THE CONTRACT that states she has to be IN GULIVER'S TRAVELS, then it's okay I suppose.

Doesn't make a lick of sense. Rothman had someone go on set and repaint a truck when Hood was elsewhere? Thats a load of malarkey right there.

Is that even within the realm of possibility to paint a vehicle on location?
Total BS.

Who are the other directors who have this power?

If he was at one point, he sure as hell isn't anymore. Not after the bomb that was "Australia".

It is/was Baz Luhrman. We'll see what happens to him after "Australia".

i agree. who repaints a truck on location? :hehe:

christian bale has always been the voice of the fans "his comments in reguards to heath alligations/ what he does/says about batman)

so he needs to lead an army of angry fans/movie goers ala john connor in the terminator
to the 20th century fox building kick the door down, grab rothman, and rip his F***ing heart out

i still think its funny that Australia was a very expensive movie .but they said that it doesnt matter if it doesnt make a profit because of the nominations.
well them movie was a bomb and they were not nominated. so basicly Rothman shouldnt get another chance.

I'm just hoping they don't make another Fantastic Four so the rights can turn back over to marvel studios.

Didn't some other director come out and say that he was never again working with Fox? Revolution is in the air.

Are you thinking of Steve Norrington?

Tim Burton, Stephen Norrington and Mathieu Kassovitz, at least.

Dunno has Xavier Gens (Hitman) said it in public, but we all know he's not working with Fox ever again.

Bryan Singer turned down the offer to do Wolverine. (Though he did direct the pilot episode of House.)

David Hayter also don't wanna work with them anymore. (He was on Singer's X1/X2 writing team.)
