Sequels The Gambit/Remy LeBeau Casting Thread

By the way, can someone describe the gambit cameo in either the first or second movie? I've seen both countless times and have no memory of it. So I assume its in the deleted scenes of the DVD's which I dont have, so pls help me out with this thanx.

Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and most other suggestions I couldn't take seriously as a theif that could beat Wolverine in the Danger Room. It seems everyone wants emo models. Why? Lets get a MAN and not a boy to play this part.

In X-2, Mystique browses through Stryker's mutant files and of the names that appear on the screen, she spends ONE EXTRA SECOND on the name Remy Lebeau.

Apparantly, the follow up to this was to be Mystique getting hit on at the bar by Remy(James Bamford) and turning him down to talk to Guard Laurio.

However, that was cut and all we got was "hope" for X-3...

THen in X-3, we were PROMISED that Gambit would be in the film. But when Brett Ratbastard took over as director, Gambit was cut. The only lingering thread of his existence in X-3 was an un-named mutant with long dark hair and a trench coat seen standing with the MAIN Brotherhood members.

So we have to believe THAT was Gambit's 2nd cameo and can expect the writers and director to screw us again and NOT have Gambit in an X-men movie. Mainly because the current film is called THE LAST STAND and since everything has come full circle, it is unlikely there will be a 4th movie.

You said this exact same thing in the original Gambit Casting thred.
Anyways, who do you suggest.

HAHA. Not word for word.

Well, I'm not very good with unknowns but I do like the looks of Zen Genser and Rodrigo Santoro. Acting, I have no clue, never heard of them till they were brought up on these boards. Holloway is alright, I wouldn't jump at him but I wouldn't be disappointed either. I just like seeing what people say then I give them thumbs up  or thumbs down :down.

Josh Holloway is another good pick. Shame he already turned it down.

Watch out, some of the fans on here will say he's too pretty boy for the role.
Personally I like him but for a different X-Men character.

Lol....which character are you thinking of? :)

Johnny Depp. He played Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean very well. So well He should have won the Oscar. I think Gambit's character is similar where he is a hero but you still might question which side he is on. Plus he is also a thief. It would be a similar role.

I thought of Johnny Depp too...he's my favorite actor:D...but I guess he's kinda old to play Gambit (he's about 40).

I think this actor, Adam Pascal, was amazing in Rent...and I hate to say it but sometimes when I watch movies I feel like I'm always scouting for who would be good as Gambit...

Rent, "Rent" and you might see it too. I don't just cast look-a-alikes...but people that can atleast act.

Gambit had a cut-scene in X2? how do i not know this! on the dvd do they have it like i nthe deleted scenes section or something?

well out of complete boredome i tried to do one of my first manips and picked gamibt, lol, don't take this seriously- as much as I love Hayden Christensen I have decided I want a no-named actor we haven't seen but looks very much like Remy to play the part.
but till then i'll just be bored and pretend:

yeah i don't like doing manips because I stink at it.

I thought Stephen Dorff would make a good Gambit, but that's just my opinion.

I remember watching Sinbad. He's a great choice.
Let's please remember Josh supposedly turned it down and focus on other actors.
I've always liked Christian Kane, the evil lawyer Lindsey, from Angel.

Yes he did it was during the scene where xavier is effecting muties in dark cerebro, apparently you saw a man from behind and in his hands he has some cards that suddenly explode(5 second scene)-the part was played by stunt man james bramford. But it was never released as a deleted scene on the DVd-why I don't know, but it does exist as both singer and bamford have confirmed it.I wish they'd show it at least on line then we would have had gambit in the trilogy.

He may be getting on some, but there is only one Gambit.

Always was, always will be: Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Oh yes, the muscles from Brussels. The one, the only, the best, the original, Remy Le Beau. He's even big enough to carry his own series ;)

I really think that Gregory Helms (aka Hurricane) from the WWE could be a decent Gambit because he has a slight cajun accent, is apparently a fan of comics (he has a green lantern tatoo on his arm), and has a similiar physique.

Wrestlers do not belong in movies. At all. Unless it's a movie about wrestling. Don't argue just deal with it.
Agreed.

I don't understand the reasoning behind that. What wrestlers mainly do is act. Granted some wrestlers abuse their wrestling roles and try to include them into the character their playing (The Rock), but I'm sure that if given the chance, Gregory Helms wouldn't screw up Gambit.
