Yeah, it's definitely a good, crazy and expensive time to be a gamer. I'm trying to limit myself both because of time and money, but so far for the rest of the year, my list of must haves are:

Arkham Citye
Uncharted 3
Assassin's Creed Revelations

I also plan to at least rent, if not, einter Cell HD Trilogy
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword

Currently, I have the following games out as rentals.

Portal 2
The Sly Collection
Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands

I have also recently bought Mass Effect 2, so I could finish getting the trophies, and Top Spin 4, which I am also trying to platinum.

On that Splinter Cell.....is it the first three games? Because I have no use for Pandora Tomorrow

Yeah, its the original, Pandora Tomorrow, and Chaos Theory. I don't really mind the games because I loved all of them, plus the chance to get 3 games for the price of one, and with trophies for each one, I'm definitely in, or will at least consider as a rental.

Gears Of War 3 - Check
MW3
Skyrim
Crysis

Anything else might wait for the Holiday Sales & Black Friday

Gears of War 3 has been such an amazing start to the gaming season... I actually don't think it's going to be a long or difficult wait for games like Batman or Uncharted now, because all I can think about is playing more Gears.

I didnt realize GoW3 was comnig out so soon till I saw a review on IGN's front page. I assumed it was a Nov title

Yeah, that's why it's awesome. All the big titles coming out in the latter part of the year, it's great to get a triple A title at the beginning of the season.

I played the first one and it bored me to tears. Visually, it looked alot like Unreal Tournament 3 as well. I much prefer games like MDK were the action is more visceral and the art direction is more inspired. Awsome soundtrack as well. Game was the balls. Gears Of War is a bro game designed for jocks. Not for me.

I loved the gears games but totally understand people being underwhelmed by them.... But Gears 3 is a very, very difficult game to dislike. Visually, gameplay wise and story wise, it surpasses it's previous games majorly. At the very least, I'd say it's worth a rent to any Gears sceptics. If the awesome 4 player co-op campaign (about 15 hours long) doesn't do it for you, the greatly refined multiplayer will.

A new Gears release really makes me miss Blockbuster. I used to rent those, CoD, and Halo and play through the single-player campaigns over a weekend. :csad:

I still haven't played a single Gears game. Still mainly have my 360 for Halo and Mass Effect. Am I missing out?

Eh, they're good shooters but there's absolutely nothing essential about them. You could pretty much put them in the same category as Halo: good game mechanics, mediocre stories, and most people buy them solely for the multiplayer.

Ive had the first one for a couple of years now. I played a bit of the opening section but wasnt really compelled to get into it. I also wasnt a big fan of the cover system mechanic

With Gears 3, you absolutely are missing out. It's one of the best MP shooters on the market. I haven't finished the campaign yet, but iv heard it's a great step up from the previous 2.

You need to get Gears 3 if you are looking for a more tactical online shooter compared to the CoDs or Halos

Any Racing Sim fans here? I'm looking for an affordable racing wheel and pedal stand. Right now I just have my wheel mounted on a coffee table and it's just not conducive to hanging with Lewis Hamilton for a full race. Need something more sturdy and comfortable.

That's the experience I'v had with pretty much every action game using third person cover. Really dislike it. Gets old fast.

The Gears games are always a ton of fun to play, for me. All the mechanics are so well done and it's very satisfying. I'm into Act III of Gears 3 and it's a great game, definitely not one to miss out on.

The multiplayer this go around is a lot of fun too, both competitive and cooperative.

storm trooper controller lol.

I gotta get another controller for the black d-pad and get some black buttons or somethin but whatevs.

speaking of which, my 360 controller no longer works and I need to get one. Anyone have that new deluxe one with the adjustable dpad? How is it and is it worth spending the extra money over the standard one? Also how's the battery life bc Im thinking of going wireless this time

Iv got two of em. Have the standard silver one and the gears of war 3 controller. I deff think it's worth it. I played two back to back arcade ladders in MK, one with the new dpad one without and the difference truly is noticible. I say go ahead and get the new one because you also get a play and charge kit with it, negating the need for batteries.

My play and charge kit broke after a few months and would take forever to charge. Buy some Eneloops.

Iv never even used mine. I have one of those docks that charges twp batteries at once.

I need to get some new batteries though as mine don't hold charges as long as they used go.

Just get Eneloops. Probably cheaper than replacing the battery packs plus you can use them in anything else. I used to use Energizers, some couldn't hold a charge anymore and those that did ran out quick. Plus they wouldn't fit right in my 360 battery pack, had to put aluminum foil in them.
