I was around for Spider-Man Hype. Didn't post though, just lurked. :ninja:

^^ did you participated in the infamous 'organic vs mechanic' thread?:oldrazz:

No, I don't think so, but I definitely remember it. The whole "permawhite" idiocy from a few years back reminded me a lot of it.

[BLACKOUT]I was pro-organic by the way.[/BLACKOUT]

Haha...true. That spidey thread went on for hundred of pages if i remember correctly...

Good ol'Hype controversies...Spidey, gay rawhide kid, permawhite joker,JAL cyber sex incident...

I remember joining during the Daredevil "hype". I can't believe I've been here 10 years already :wow:

I only post in like 5 threads nowadays. Begins was really the last movie I got super-hyped about during its production.

I joined in 2008, but I lurked for a few years because of the Smallville and Spider-Man threads. We were so hyped for SM3. :(

Same here. I wasn't a really active poster back then, but definitely more active than i am now.

The new breed of fans just...bothers me.

I remember when I first joined, I was hooked, and I used to post all day in places like the lounge in the Community. After a year I took a break before coming back, and I think during that time, that's when a lot of things changed.

what the hell was permawhite?

There was a very vocal contingent of people who were super upset that The Joker's white skin in The Dark Knight was face paint instead of permanent acid scarring. They called themselves "Permawhite Supremacists".

LOL, i remember that vividly. I dont think i ever jumped into that debate. I think i commented like once on the entirety of that films production and it was when Ledger was cast. I think i said like 'great choice', or something and that was it hah.

Films/TV dont get me nearly as riled as games.

I'm kind of the same. I would like to talk about big movies like that more, but I find that the threads for those movies either A: Move too fast to get a word in, or B: Are filled with idiots. Most of the time it's both.

wow, not what I expected...lol

Haha my thoughts exactly. I think it was the ASM2 thread where i posted at how i liked the casting of Chris Cooper as Osborn and i swear i went back not 5 min later to state something else and the thread had jumped like 8 pages and covered like 4 or 5 different topics.

Im a little scared to venture outside this section. I know everyone here, its comfortable, haha.

Same here for the most part. Though I really enjoy the Misc. TV and Misc. Film sections as well.

Okay, honestly...none of you ever pirated anything?
I don't pirate. The stuff I really want, I want to own the original. Everything else I don't really care. If it's fairly priced and not being pirated I'll think about getting it eventually. Have way more than enough legitimate entertainment to need/want to pirate anything. And I really like rewarding those who push the boundaries on my favourite films/games etc. The films I love I'll watch up to 10 times in the cinema, buy every version at full price as soon as it's released and buy associated stuff like comics, books & action figures. And those that are merely good I'm in absolutely no rush to watch/get. Things like Sky Go & Netflix will help me catch up on all the stuff I've missed without paying a lot more than I think it's worth and without pirating.

Why the **** don't more developers do stuff like this? It's way better than stupid DRM, that's more a pain in the ass of the consumer, than the pirate.

Why don't they? It's a clever and smart idea that reinforces pirates to buy the game instead of being hassle to all players.

HA! owned!

I joined in 2009, but lurked for most of 2008 after The Dark Knight. The sad thing is that I joined originally for Green Lantern. :csad:

I used to frequent those boards a lot, but stopped after the first trailer. Then I frequented the Thor (The best superhero boards on the Hype, very few problems if any) and Captain America (so much drama in these boards with trolls and the infamous chest hair debate), and later The Avengers, which was an okay board.

I stopped frequent boards as much because all superhero boards are getting to crazy and there's to many spoilers being released in these boards.

I still frequent the Community, Misc. Films, and Video Game boards.

The Captain America chest hair debate was even more stupid.

I almost forgot about the Great Raimi war of 2010. That was crazy.

It was Raimi lovers vs. Raimi haters vs. Reboot lovers vs. reboot haters

To be honest, while I've seen just about all of the big Superhero movies in the last 5 years at some point, I went through a period where I saw TDK in 2008 and didn't go back to see another movie in the theater until TDKR last year. Just goes to show how much I really care/follow movies here. I honestly don't know when certain movies are coming out until a month before release.

But gaming is a different story. I eat up just about any kind of news/videos that I see.

You guys are making me feel old. I joined all the way back in 2001 to discuss my distaste with The Green Goblin's costume in SM1. I would post every now and then but I got into an argument with some people, got totally owned and embarrassed since I was a dumb 14-year-old and didn't post for many, many years. I finally started posting again in 2008 during The Dark Knight viral marketing, which despite some crazy fans in the bat boards was probably the most fun I've ever had on the hype.

Nowadays I just post wherever but mostly in here since people are surprisingly chill and levelheaded. I'd like to post more in the Comic Books section, but I just don't understand the opinions of some of the posters there. They seem to hate everything Marvel and DC do, yet for some reason can't seem to stop reading and paying attention to them. I don't get it.

LOL, id love to see some of my early posts. Id love to compile all my posts from my first year and put it into a book. ProjectPat2280: Year One
