Jose and Ben game on the Wikipad.

Synopsis:They played with the Wiki pad. It's nice to have a control pad for tablet gaming , unfortunately this one felt awkward and lopsided.

Ben's score 6.0Jose's Score 7.0

I got review code of it but I'm not crazy about it. It's the most charming, whimsical game you could imagine but the platforming is bog standard and totally disengaging.

So Syndicate's co-op mode is a lot of fun with 3 other friends, but it's even fun with randoms! Much better than expected.

oh yeah it's a shame that didn't sell that well it was supposed be for another audience but it kinda ticked of the original fan base. Well there have a a successor to the original syndicate so there should be any worries . But it's a shame that's all. Worth picking it up since the price has went way down now.

Yeah, I'd definitely recommend it for the co-op alone. Really fun levelling up and upgrading everything. Although it will take a long time. Once you're upgraded you're 10 times as powerful. The expert mode is impossible without upgrades.

What kind of game will the other Syndicate be?

It'll be the same as the original it's a top down RTS it's not that different from what xCom EU is. It's called Satellite Reign. http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=462307

Report: G4 spared an Esquire Network makeover

NBC Universal has announced video games cable channel G4 will no longer be converted into the Esquire Network.

An exclusive report on The Hollywood Reporter calls out NBC Universal's Style channel as the unlucky recipient of an Esquire makeover, which will see the now female-focused channel shifting its focus toward mature men. As a result of this news, G4 will continue to operate as-is for the foreseeable future.

The announcement to convert G4 into the Esquire Network came in February, when NBC Universal called out an April 22 re-branding. A week prior to that planned launch, NBC Universal pushed back the launch of the Esquire Network to an unspecified date.

G4? Do they even have any more gaming related shows after they canceled X-Play?

On the Canadian side, yes they have EPD.Tv/ RoTR which used to be known as "Judgement day" and the electric playground to you all state side. But that show was always independent and they were smart enough to put themselves on other channels like ABC etc state wise and start putting around the world. And the web with their own website. And they noticed that the states network producer at G4 was a *****e and was replacing show's that were started on the channel for shows like cop's, cheater's and capus PD.

So there is one show of sorts. But cause the Net work producer in the US side is a moron most people don't see what was supposed to be on there.

I think I played Syndicate Wars (on Amiga) but that must have been about 20 years ago?! Is that the game they're remaking? And not surprised if fans are pissed off at getting Syndicate if they're looking for something like that.

Yup that would be the one. But the same reaction happened with Xcom too. And we had EU happen and those same people stopped making nose the only reason the Xcom shooter didn't do so well review wise was cause of the story(which lets face it that doesn't seem to be a strong suit there. With 2k over all there.) and even though it was being catered to a different audience it was those that played the RTS that we're still looking at it.

And more importantly I think half their money was spent From going first person to third and they had a limited budget and couldn't pick up any more money before release and couldn't ask their boss's for more ether. The game play for that one is fine it's just the story is lacking.

2k's one of the better companies in terms of qualities of games and story.

It is when it's one's like "gear box" with ones like Borderlands . It depends which sections we're talking about. But Fire axis put out two Dlc's with Xcom EU and the stories there weren't the best and people dumped on them for those and there are other to mention which I won't head into just now.

These remakes of games like Syndicate Wars & XCom should stay faithful to the game type at least. If they're bringing out 2 games, one faithful and one something like a FPS, release the faithful one 1st to keep the fans happy & then they'll be more open to an additional new type of game on top.

Well Xcom did do that and for the most part thing's were looking up but where they screwed themselves over with the shooter was the switch from first to third financially (Not a bad idea the Fps market is crowed as it is) and it cut into them making the third person shooter better hens what happened to the story there. And the fact that they cut out the instigation section for it. Which would have made it unique for a Third person shooter.

Syndicate they didn't do that and fans of the original made them pay for it. that and it was just another FPS.

Hmm, must be because of the movie. Even though from what I hear the third act of that movie fell apart. Hopefully this upcoming game will be better. I know the other two games are well liked.

Here's what Capcom's up to.
Capcom To Increase Focus On DLC Development And Sales. September 10, 2013 . 11:32am

“From here on out, we need to focus on the long-term provision of content starting at the earliest stages of development,” says Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto.

As reported in the past, a number of Capcom’s games in recent time have failed to meet their sales forecasts, the most notable among them being Resident Evil 6 and DmC Devil May Cry. As a result, profits dropped and Capcom are taking countermeasures to attempt to deal with the issue.

Key among these countermeasures is to increase the longevity of key titles by creating and selling downloadable content. Capcom mention in their most recent annual report that, in 2012, DLC accounted for 27.8% of the consumer games market, but that only 11.3% of Capcom’s sales came from DLC.

Capcom say their failure to capitalize on DLC better is due to the increased focus they placed on their online business, specifically the Mobile Content and PC segment, in response to the rapid growth of the social games market. Going forward, the company hopes to keep DLC in mind from the very start of development.

“I regret to say that, up to now, we had few plans for the full-scale implementation of DLC. From here on out, we need to focus on the long-term provision of content starting at the earliest stages of development,” says Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto. “Furthermore, in terms of user response, if the additional related content we are providing continually to users online is deemed uninteresting from the start, there will be no ongoing business to pursue. This means that, more than ever before, the creation of underlying content is the key to success.”

Tsujimoto follows up another very interesting comment in the report as well—he mentions that, even if Capcom have plans to create a new version of a game two years down the road, if the previous version is still entertaining players through downloadable content, he sees no reason to allocate staff to developing a new version until actually necessary.

For the remainder of their ongoing fiscal year, Capcom have their hopes pinned on three key titles in their Consumer Games segment
—Monster Hunter 4, Resident Evil: Revelations and Lost Planet 3. Sales forecasts for the three are as follows:

Sales forecasts (by March 31st, 2014):

Monster Hunter 4 – 2.8 million units
Resident Evil: Revelations – 1.2 million units
Lost Planet 3 – 1.2 million units

Despite a drop in profits for their previous fiscal year, Capcom saw an increase in revenue, owing partly to their online games segment.
