This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]465259[/split]
Having never played through them, I tried and loved Absolution last year when it was on Plus. Great game!
It seemed like a great game although that style of gameplay doesn't suit me...unless you have the option of also shooting your way (albeit against very challenging odds) out if you get caught. I got stuck in a cupboard with 40 guys outside and they never went away. I left my xbox on for hours then tried again...nope same result dead in 2 seconds as soon as I poke my head out.t:
Yeah that's why I was sure that there must be a way out of that cupboard situation as other times I'd alerted people right in the middle of the level in front of everyone I was able to run and kill everyone, even if it was difficult. Or when I failed it at least felt possible. That cupboard though! Maybe it was glitched or something.LOL.
Well Absolution was MUCH more forgiving in that aspect. In the old games, once your cover was blown, the WHOLE map knew it. Here, you could contain the situations before they got out of hand. You were absolutely able to shoot your way through each level, it was tough, but easier than past games. Past games didnt always do a good job of making you feel like a genetically engineered super assassin. Absolution was much better at that.

Even 7 hours later? Don't they need food or toilet breaks?Haha well if the enemy sees you enter a hiding spot, they won't leave the area.
It's not like many other types of media...if you're not naturally inclined to it at all it must be difficult. Like for eg I have absolutely no problem watching any type of film or TV show with others that's not my natural thing...kid's films, romcoms, family dramas etc..but the interactive nature of gaming I think is what makes it much more of a chore for those who have to convince themselves to get into it. Must be hard as a career choice too if you don't have the passion for it, although I suppose many jobs in other industries also have a lot of people with no passion for their industry too lol.
I miss the Sessler that used to be. He really kind of crawled up his own ass these past two or three years though.
Too bad, I always liked Sess though I hadn't seen much of him in the last few years. He was wired as hell at E3 last year though, dude looked like he was running on nothing but whiskey and pcp towards the end lol. Best of luck to him, I'll always miss X-Play and G4 when it was cool
Wait his blog says "the time feels right to explore new avenues inside of gaming that help further the medium", not that he's leaving the industry entirely. What gives?

Very cool. That Visceral Star Wars game is the one I'm most curious about. We know about Battlefront, and Bioware's game will in all likelihood be some sort of RPG. Visceral though? Who knows.
