Having never played through them, I tried and loved Absolution last year when it was on Plus. Great game!

That seemed to be the consensus with people just entering the series. Long time players were more likely to not like the game(as most gamers refuse to adapt), but really theres enough pure "Hitman" gameplay for every true Hitman fan to enjoy. Plus it was prob the best look, save for the non game fiction, into the makeup of 47. It was great to see 47 out of his element after seeing the same set up with every other title. With that said though, im really looking forward to the return to the more "classic" level design with this upcoming title. 47 is best when he's got the full Agency backing.

It seemed like a great game although that style of gameplay doesn't suit me...unless you have the option of also shooting your way (albeit against very challenging odds) out if you get caught. I got stuck in a cupboard with 40 guys outside and they never went away. I left my xbox on for hours then tried again...nope same result dead in 2 seconds as soon as I poke my head out. :woot:

LOL.

Well Absolution was MUCH more forgiving in that aspect. In the old games, once your cover was blown, the WHOLE map knew it. Here, you could contain the situations before they got out of hand. You were absolutely able to shoot your way through each level, it was tough, but easier than past games. Past games didnt always do a good job of making you feel like a genetically engineered super assassin. Absolution was much better at that.

Yeah that's why I was sure that there must be a way out of that cupboard situation as other times I'd alerted people right in the middle of the level in front of everyone I was able to run and kill everyone, even if it was difficult. Or when I failed it at least felt possible. That cupboard though! Maybe it was glitched or something. :woot:

Haha well if the enemy sees you enter a hiding spot, they won't leave the area.

Even 7 hours later? Don't they need food or toilet breaks? :woot: Haha I'm really not very good at this hiding ****...should have studied harder in those hide and seek years.

Just read that Adam Sessler is leaving the video game journalism industry. The funny thing is I'm glad, and could tell the past 2 years he wanted to leave. He even one time admitted he was not really a huge gamer back in the day, but got the job and kinda went from there. But as of late, you can just tell he does not care for gaming as much, and he has just had such a chip on his shoulder and at times been very unprofessional. It was just so unlike him I think he finally realized it was time to step away.

I will always love Adam and his work, but I do think after his past year and a half, I think it's a good thing for him to rest on it.

I still got Jeff G. And he is just as good of a journalist, and very objective, and most importantly you can tell he is still very passionate about gaming.

But good luck to your new endeavors Adam, you gave me years of great entertainment. I watched you since 98 with Gamespot TV.

yeah I noticed it from him too . well I wish him well.

That sucks. I didn't mind him, which is kind of the highest praise I give any games journalist

I really admired him. Especially back in the day. From like 98-2004 before G4, he was/the show was awesome. But as years went on, he had a lot of double standards (still some great opinions) but he just seemed to be more angry, and just not into it.

I think I'd find gaming a very strange industry to be in if I wasn't really into it.

Ya, and I think more then ever that's why he left. It was a long time ago, like in 2004, he said he was not really into games that much. And the job kinda just came up. And he said he got into them for a while, but as the years gone on, I think he is just not as interested.

It's not like many other types of media...if you're not naturally inclined to it at all it must be difficult. Like for eg I have absolutely no problem watching any type of film or TV show with others that's not my natural thing...kid's films, romcoms, family dramas etc..but the interactive nature of gaming I think is what makes it much more of a chore for those who have to convince themselves to get into it. Must be hard as a career choice too if you don't have the passion for it, although I suppose many jobs in other industries also have a lot of people with no passion for their industry too lol.

True. I don't know how I could fake it. I have trouble even posting something on a forum about something I have little interest in. Or even medium interest in. That's why I still love Jeff G. after all these years he still is not only objective, but still a hardcore passionate gamer. All his guys at Giant Bomb you can tell are actual gamers, that love what they do.

Especially in the last few years Sessler, kinda griped about it a lot. And after the big blow out in November on Twitter, a lot including myself, lost a little respect for him. I still will always think of him in high regards, but especially at Rev3 games he kinda started to show some cracks, and at times his ego would take over.

I miss the Sessler that used to be. He really kind of crawled up his own ass these past two or three years though.

Too bad, I always liked Sess though I hadn't seen much of him in the last few years. He was wired as hell at E3 last year though, dude looked like he was running on nothing but whiskey and pcp towards the end lol. Best of luck to him, I'll always miss X-Play and G4 when it was cool

Agreed. He really did gain an ego in the past few years. So much so he became very hypocritical, and had a lot of double standards. The last year just made me shake my head a lot at some of them. But back in the day...he was the best.

Ya he was awesome during the Gamespot/X-Play days. It went a little downhill in the later years of G4. But with Rev3 games he said some things, and just his attitude in general was not as good. You could see some of his co-workers really disagreed with him, but feared to say anything because of who he was.
Wait his blog says "the time feels right to explore new avenues inside of gaming that help further the medium", not that he's leaving the industry entirely. What gives?

Ya I think he may go the way of Greg Kasavin, and maybe just go start working for a game company.

Very cool. That Visceral Star Wars game is the one I'm most curious about. We know about Battlefront, and Bioware's game will in all likelihood be some sort of RPG. Visceral though? Who knows.

Yea thats awesome news. Reallly interested in what they'll be doing. With Henning on board, i don't think im going out on a limb saying whatever type of Star Wars game they are making will have an epic story with awesome characters.

Wow that is really awesome news! I have been very interested their Star Wars game like Soapy said we don't know what the actual details are. It would be cool to have a first person/third person shooter in the vein of Dark Forces made again.
