He kinda has a history of casting like that too. He was a Perry Mason fanboy and cast Robert Patrick in Peacemaker because he saw him in that.

It appears Gunn hit a home run with Corenswet and Rachel. I think DC released the finalists for Clark and Lois to get a gage to what the fans wanted a few weeks ago before they made the final decision. I for one think Gunn and company wanted Emma but they went with the fan’s choice. I think they are going to let the fans pick Luther too. One of the Skarsgard brothers will get the roll.

The thing with Hoult is that every role he's tried for is one that would be far better with his competition.

Like I’ve said, Hoult needs to embrace the niche he excels in and stop going after all these roles he’s wildly unsuited to. At least I can kinda see him as Lex unlike Clark, but there are still sooooo many actors better for it than him, including the two he’s reportedly up against.

Dude would hate me for saying this but honestly the only hero that springs to mind for him is Plastic Man.
